JBL OnBeat Mini and/or Micro Speaker Dock with Lightning Connector
- Get the Micro ($20) or Mini ($30) or get both ($40) for $10 less
- Speaker Dock Friday returns by ironic demand
- The Mini is the big portable one (confusing, we know), and it’s iPad-sized and sounds a little better than…
- The Micro, which is the iPhone-sized smaller one you might take to the beach or something
- Lightning connector for iStuff or aux-in for otherStuff
- They both suck compared to Bluetooth speakers that let you continue to use your device while playing music from it, but what do you want at this price?
- Model: JBLONBEATPRCBLKAM, JBLONBEATMICBLKAM
Be careful what you whine for.
It’s become de rigeur of late in the Meh forum to compare the daily product unfavorably to the much-maligned speaker dock. Really, guys? You sure you wanna go there? You wanna get nuts?
Let’s get nuts.
@jjohns71 purported to speak for “everyone” when petitioning us to “Please bring back the speaker docks. It was more fun to complain about Friday that way.” Fine. Here you go. Have fun.
When @sjk was unimpressed by an Android tablet, he or she dropped the hammer like so: “Maybe if they bundled it with a speaker dock…” We’ll go you one better: a speaker dock with no tablet. Got anything else you wanna say, tough guy/gal?
The Grime Boss wipes were dismissed by @robson with a simple “Lame, bring back the speakers!” and by @saodell with the subtler “Where’s the speaker and lightening connector?” After 24 solid hours of speaker dockery, you smartasses will be begging for some wet wipes. Begging.
Just a couple of days ago, when we sold a wrinkly knife, @sohmageek responded “Another knife. Not again. Why can’t we have speaker docks?” A few minutes later, in response to a challenge from @RifterNova, fellow wiseacre @bdb registered the domain name knivesandspeakerdocks.com and redirected it to Meh. That’s some next-level trolling.
What else could we do but call your bluff? So here you go. Dig into our apparently endless stash of JBL OnBeat speaker docks. The Mini is iPad-sized and sounds better; the Micro is iPhone-sized and more portable. They both have Lightning connectors for charging as long as they’re plugged in. They both have aux-in jacks if you just want to use the speaker with any audio source. They’re both kind of stupid. Not our fault. You made this mess. You eat it.
And if the rest of you want to give the aforementioned forum members the online equivalent of the soap-bar treatment from Full Metal Jacket, we’ll just be off in the officer’s barracks, our JBL OnBeat speaker docks turned up nice and loud. We won’t hear a thing.
