@nadroj My dog tells me this is just imitation poop though. He's not interested in it. Either am I. We both say "meh". Wait, I should clarify - if it was real poop, I'd still say " meh".
I'm old. My hands are wrinkled. The knife is wrinkled. I'd be like Edward Scissorshands....I wouldn't know where my hand ended and the knife started....
I LOVE this knife! I got it off woot for $25 + shipping, and it was my EDC for a while.. Then I tried to fly home from LA and forgot to put it in my checked bag until after said bag was already checked.. Needless to say, TSA wouldn't let me through.. So I had to find someone who worked at the airport and give it away.. But I love the thickness and weight of the blade, and the opening action is smoother than I could have imagined. I'm in for 1 as quickly as I could press the button!
It has enough weight in the blade that I used it to chop down a small tree with relative ease.. The tree was then used to help drag a deer up a monsterous hill, and everything worked out well.
Not for me in my humble opinion its over priced and under sized with a 2.57 inch blade hardly enough to pick your fingernails ..the handle dosent appeal to me either for that reason "im out"
@escapecar Same. I've seen this knife on woot and other deal sites before this, and it's no wonder why it hasn't been selling well; the knife is ugly as sin. It looks like a melting Snickers bar at best, and I don't need to tell you what it looks like at its worst.
I'm sure the quality and action are just fine. I could almost get over the measly blade and handle length, heavy weight, fixed pocket orientation, and blade shape if it didn't look like--well-- poop. If the price were lower I might risk buying one just to take it apart and attempt to dye the scales black.
My first impulse with knives to buy and this is not a bad looking knife. But I like tip up, don't care for flippers and this is too small for my hands.
I'm not an expert so this might come across as a newb question, but I'm wondering why there's such a broad range of prices for pocket knives of even the same type.
For example, on eBay you can get the same types of knives for less than $10.
Is there such a huge quality difference that I should be compelled to buy a certain knife for more than 2x the price over another that offer the same general functionality?
@eulestadt Well, some people do collect knives, and being designed by Ken Onion is a big deal: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ken_Onion That said, realistically it's probably similar to the difference between designer & normal clothes--they'll be higher quality and arguably look better, but not necessarily proportionally so to their price.
@eulestadt If I may, this is not a bad knife for the purpose that you speak of. I own a couple of CRKT knives which I am happy with. I prefer Kershaw, but these are at a premium. Ken Onion designs for both and I like his knives. It's not an attractive knife, but for this price it's not a bad deal. (my daily carry around Onion is posted below)
@eulestadt CRKT is a good knife company, one of the better values out there. Roughly on par with Benchmade & with some of their high end models being superior to the Kershaw knives also seen here, although those aren't bad at all. eBay generic knives can't compare in fit, finish, smooth action, holding an edge & longevity. If you want to carry a very solid knife but not have to pay obscene prices for something custom, it's a good choice.
@eulestadt The knives on ebay you listed don't list what kind of steel they're made of, which can make a huge difference in how sharp they can get, durability, how long it will hold an edge, etc. When buying a knife, it's a lot nicer to have one that's made well and uses at least decent steel.
@eulestadt I think you'd find this one a solid buy for that purpose. These are decent quality and $24 well spent. You don't want to go ultra-cheap on a knife you'll actually use, because you REALLY don't want it to break or come apart when you need it.
@Otis_T_Slim definitely agree, though I don't usually make purchasing decisions based purely off of branding. A good knife is a good knife, regardless of the name on it. If it's just in my hiking pack, or my car, who cares?
@clyde2801@JonT Early this morning, after going to the forums, on my Nexus 7, I clicked back to the main page, clicked the button again, and it spun like crazy.
If this were reversible to carry tip up I'd probably buy one.
For me, I'd prefer something like an ESEE Zancudo if I was looking for an AUS8 folder in this price range. Be careful with comparisons for this knife. There are several different versions that vary in price, steel, and size.
I just picked up a Kershaw Blur 1670BLK for $1 at a yard sale last week Mine though looks rough missing the rubber on one side, belt clip bent and rust on the blade (that looks like it was sharpened a few times) Normally I would pass on it but ever since MEH I have become a knife snob and knew even rough it was a quality knife.
This is OFF TOPIC but recieved the NANO TEK phone and tablet holder yesterday from 2 weeks ago, works awesome as advertised .. Then today recieved my 2 conair Showerheads ...2 minute install and they also work better then expectations ty MEH you rock..
Having disparaged the color earlier I ordered one anyway, and I have to say it's a really nice knife despite looking like Mr. Hanky. FWIW the brown looks almost bronze color in sunlight!

Anybody wanna take a stab at making a pun?
@lichme Sorry, I'm not that sharp to make puns.
@cengland0 My pun abilities wouldn't cut it either. =(
@lichme I'm always up for some cutting edge humor!
@lichme cut it out.
@jc_crest I don't get the point of making any more puns.
@lichme I can't hack making any more puns. I'm really just a dull person.
So knife of everyone to share their puns.
@lichme Those are some sharp puns up there. A few are clearly not full tang.
Did you hear about that actress who got stabbed? Reese, Reese something, Reese whatshername?
Witherspoon?
No, with her knife.
@Thumperchick Edgy!
Hope you don't mind me cutting in, but some members puns are clearly a cut above the rest.
@lichme It's gauche to bring a pun to a knife fight.
@lichme These Ken Onion knives tear up the competition.
@lichme Some of these puns are awful. Jail-worthy. People who make puns this bad should be incar-serrated.
@devtony that was a bit of
@lichme No matter how you slice it, this knife is a great deal!
@lichme The price on this item has certainly been slashed.
@lichme I'd need to sharpen my skills before cutting in on this pun dance. By the way- don't disturb hollow-ed ground... (groan)
Yes, but can it wrinkle an onion?
@GiantTarget Did you mean "Ken it wrinkle an onion?"
Meh. Another knife. Not again. Why can't we have speaker docks?
@sohmageek NO
@sohmageek yeah but this is the onion, man... the onion
@sohmageek This isn't Friday, you take your speaker dock blasphemy and leave!
@sohmageek This knife in particular brings tears to my eyes.
@sohmageek Speaker docks for anything but iphones
@CrossIT @Bianrox @Saffer49 @cengland0 @bboro30 You're Welcome! :)
I have this knife. Built nicely, feels balanced, sharp outta the box.
Not a fan of the look.
I have to agree, please, no more knives!
Is this one the bacon color or the poop color?
@nadroj poop
@nadroj My dog tells me this is just imitation poop though. He's not interested in it. Either am I. We both say "meh". Wait, I should clarify - if it was real poop, I'd still say " meh".

bonus points if someone registers this and redirects it back to meh
@RifterNova Tease!
@RifterNova Done. DNS should be propagating now. Unless I goofed on something. I used a new to me registrar.
@RifterNova Awesome!
@bdb you win Meh.
@bdb nicely done. It works. meh should thank you and pay the registration fee.
@RedOak @brianmc1975 Thank you, it was a fun thing to do.
@yakkoTDI Try it now! :-)
@bdb Very cool dude; you get all 10 bonus points for that!
Not for me in my humble opinion its over priced and under sized with a 2.57 inch blade hardly enough to pick your fingernails ..the handle dosent appeal to me either for that reason "im out"
@mellowirishgent This isn't shark tank.
@Saffer49 @mellowirishgent you know what, it is exactly like shark tank, just $24 at a time...
@Saffer49 True its not its "Guppy Tank"
I'd buy knives if you guys would sell me something to cut.
@Mofongo your wrists
@xEBRONx Well now I don't need a knife; your comment is edgy enough.
@xEBRONx Wow that got dark real quick.
@xEBRONx
@JonT I love Bones
@mfladd So does Bruce Jenner
@TehChrisReed Who's she?
Would've bought if this were the Ripple. Want that thing.
Yes. Food! Meh, your food offerings are not impressive.
@gertiestn The first thing my mom asked when I told her about Meh was "do they ever sell food?"
looks like the turd color
Needs to look more like poo.
I usually autobuy decent knives...but this is just ugly. Have to pass.
@escapecar Same. I've seen this knife on woot and other deal sites before this, and it's no wonder why it hasn't been selling well; the knife is ugly as sin. It looks like a melting Snickers bar at best, and I don't need to tell you what it looks like at its worst.

@escapecar what do you ever mean? It says right there that it
What's next samurai swords? This website is turning into a 80's late night tv shop at home channel. Next up, totally uncollectable coins!
@Upallnite I don't blame Meh for stocking knives. They usually sell out when offered and (according to staff) bring new buyers to the Meh each time.
@Upallnite ooh, samurai swords are next? I'm in!!
woot had for 29.99, bogus price comparison
@robson Link?
@Thumperchick http://sport.woot.com/forums/viewpost.aspx?postid=5815671&ref=cnt_odet_jtd
@Thumperchick Here they had it for $24.99 + shipping: http://sport.woot.com/forums/viewpost.aspx?postid=5815671&ref=cnt_odet_jtd
@TimW Past tense. B&H also had a daily deal for the JBL Mini speaker dock at $29.99, shipped free. Had.
@TimW That the "Plain Wrinkle" not the "Wrinkle 2", plus it's a pretty orange color and not poopy brownish, which makes it worth more automatically.

Is there such a huge quality difference that I should be compelled to buy a certain knife for more than 2x the price over another that offer the same general functionality?
@eulestadt firstly it's usually the design and workmanship. After that, usually comes down to the steel that is used to make the knife.
@Starblind Thanks for the help :). Makes sense now. Would you recommend me to buy this or a generic pocket knife for my bug out bag?
@eulestadt If I may, this is not a bad knife for the purpose that you speak of. I own a couple of CRKT knives which I am happy with. I prefer Kershaw, but these are at a premium. Ken Onion designs for both and I like his knives. It's not an attractive knife, but for this price it's not a bad deal. (my daily carry around Onion is posted below)

Onion or bunion, who the hell would pay a hundred and thirty-three bucks for a friggin' palm knife..?
Twenty-four smackers? Nah!
I have bought every knife offered so far, I believe...not in for this one, the blade is too short and too fat. I don't want a heavy small knife.
You finally offered a knife that I don't want. I knew you could do it, Meh!
I actually love Ken Onion knives. My every day choice is the Boa.
This is a screaming deal. If you don't have any nice knives, treat yourself to this. It's funky but cool.
My toilet's birthday is coming up soon.
Baby Arm.
That hand in the fourth picture is a really ridiculously good looking hand.
This actually is a neat design when it isn't turd color...
http://www.crkt.com/snapon-wrinkle-large
@redcore yeah, the Orange is actually pretty sweet (onion, bam!); the SnapOn lasered logo? Not.
@Otis_T_Slim definitely agree, though I don't usually make purchasing decisions based purely off of branding. A good knife is a good knife, regardless of the name on it. If it's just in my hiking pack, or my car, who cares?
More knives, yea, yay , uhh.
Fortunately I still have my Buck 112 I bought back in 1975, so I'm compelled to jump on this poopy looking thing.
Not only is it the colour of poop, but it looks like it has the texture as well...
all glory to The Hypnotoad.
If only I could press the Meh button more than once...
@clyde2801 you can, I've pressed it like over 300 times! You just have to wait until tomorrow.
@clyde2801 @JonT Early this morning, after going to the forums, on my Nexus 7, I clicked back to the main page, clicked the button again, and it spun like crazy.

When did meh become Knives R' Us?
@Fej And why didn't they do it sooner?!
@Fej when they sell knives they sell out a lot, so they keep selling more knifes
@kadagan Yes, and get some bigger ones here too: I need one of these!
@communist I like how you used the proper knives early in the sentence, then switched to the more fun knifes later!
This is OFF TOPIC but recieved the NANO TEK phone and tablet holder yesterday from 2 weeks ago, works awesome as advertised .. Then today recieved my 2 conair Showerheads ...2 minute install and they also work better then expectations ty MEH you rock..
Mine came in. Good quality, weight and nice feel. Blade swings open nice and smooth. That all being said.... yea looks like a turd in brown.
Having disparaged the color earlier I ordered one anyway, and I have to say it's a really nice knife despite looking like Mr. Hanky. FWIW the brown looks almost bronze color in sunlight!
This has become one of my favorite knife purchases
Anyone have one of these around they’d part with? I love my knife, certainly my favorite EDC item, want to get another for a friend.
@caffeineguy I have a red one I’m not parting with. The ball bearing system is brilliant.
@blaineg Totally understand; Thanks for nothing!
I know this is necro but…
I approve of onion knives.
@OnionSoup This seems to be the thread where the legendary http://knivesandspeakerdocks.com/ was born; Sadly, it’s just been http://crappybatteriesandmorebatteries.com recently
