They better be careful they don’t accidentally see past the curvature of the universe with that thing or they’ll lose 3 years and things get a bit hairy after that!

Rangers defeat Boston Red Sox on opening day, March 27, 2025.
it’s here, because the odds against that are probably astronomical.
Even more astronomical are the odds against that Jerry Jones improves the Cowboys roster by astute draft picks and beneficial trades.
And let’s not talk about the boneheaded trade of fan favorite Luka of the Mavericks.
Hell, i might have to start supporting the Houston teams. Burbon or scotch should help with that chased by Casemates offerings that are aging more gracefully than i…
@phendrick
JJ is, as a public individual involved in sports, a combo of:
Grade C+ franchise owner in the value and profit areas of team ownership
(needs to work hard on getting better at the “absentee” aspect of team ownership)
Horrible beyond horrible general managar
Total narcissistic AH.

Total Lunar Eclipse, visible through out the contiguous 48.

@stolicat Cool, thanks! I’m surprised I hadn’t heard anything about this until you posted it.
@Kyeh @stolicat
Aren’t lunar eclipses not so rare?
That sort of visibility might be rare.
@f00l @stolicat Not that rare, I guess, but I’ve only seen a few and I enjoy seeing them.
Overall not that rare, partials are common, but this one’s unique in that it’s centered over the US and has a totality of over an hour - 11:26 pm - 12:31 am pacific coast time. So if you’re into that red moon thing …

@stolicat That’s a pretty reasonable hour to be up to see it. Unfortunately for us East Coasters, totality will be from 2:26 am to 3:31 am. Seems like it will be worth it, though.
@ItalianScallion @stolicat my dad just sent me a link to the upcoming lunar eclipse, but ~2:30AM is hard for me as I get up at 4:30 for work. We took the kids to the solar eclipse last year (only live 2 hours from the path of totality) and they loved it. May be worth the pain to get them up so they can say they’ve seen a total solar and total lunar eclipse…
There’s a tracker for starlink satellites- I keep seeing cool photos and would like to see the real thing. I tried a couple of times and no luck, stupid trees.

There’s an online tracker for satellites offered by AMSAT, the Radio Amateur Satellite Corporation. It tracks many more satellites than just ham radio ones and it’s free to use. See here AMSAT satellite tracker webpage
@ItalianScallion
Maybe just friendly aliens who like to “cosplay black helicopters”?
I found a site to identify the black helicopters that fly over my house.
https://www.flightradar24.com
@sammydog01 But aren’t the black helicopters invisible to radar?
Or is that only the bad ones, and those around you are benign?
@xobzoo The last one just said US Marine Corp with the departure point. I’m waiting for the twin federal reserve helicopters to swing by, I haven’t seen them for a while.
There’s a B-52 Stratofortress in Sweden you can track right now.
Saturn’s rings will disappear

@heartny Interesting!
@heartny @Kyeh

Check the expected start and max for your location. I think after midnight for EDT and CDT. Before midnight for other time zones.
