12-Pack: Hot Wheels Star Wars Die Cast Ships
- They’re little replicas of Star Wars ships, unless “replicas” isn’t the right word for something that never actually existed
- Includes fan favorites like the Millennium Falcon and Slave 1, three X-Wings, and fan indifferents like the Mandalorian
- We make fun of it, but the Mandalorian is selling individually for the most of any of them on Amazon
- They’re small; the Millennium Falcon is the largest and measures 2" x 4" x 5"
- Model: None (You don’t need to see its identification number. These are the ship replicas you’re looking for.)
They Die (Cast)
On May The Fourth of this year, when we last offered these Star Wars ships, we sold roughly a gajillion of them. Will they sell nearly as well today? Or was that demand driven by the marketing hype surrounding May The Fourth?
“I’m not affected by advertising and marketing,” you may say, “I don’t know why companies waste billions of dollars on it.”
But that’s what everybody says, and if it didn’t work companies (generally) wouldn’t do it. So chances are today’s sale won’t perform as last time, when we were drafting off that most commercial of “holidays.”
That is …
Unless you aren’t one of those sheep who follows every commercial command and are willing to show your dedication to the Star Wars franchise and its spacecraft even when its hype is on the ebb.
But maybe you are in the thrall of marketing. Maybe you buy Dove chocolates on Valentine’s Day, Coronas on Cinco de Mayo, and Cubs merchandise only after they win. Maybe you’re a fair-weather Star Wars fan. We donno.
There’s only one way to prove us wrong. Yes, it just so happens to fill our coffers, but buying these collectible Star Wars figurines is the only way to demonstrate that you see through the illusion of capitalism and into the gross skull heads of its overlords …
Or you can just buy these ships cuz they’re neat.
