Have you guys heard of Tavour? Do you like Beer and $10?
7I recently started using this beer delivery service. Also, sorry if this comes off spammy – I really like it and, well, keep reading.
It’s a boutique beer club – not a beer-a-month deal, but sort of like a well-curated service that finds and offers unique and hard-to-get beers, usually in 22oz bottles or limited edition cans. I’m really liking the offerings and ease of use. They’re website isn’t much, but they operate the service via email and an app.
We all like beer and money (right?). If you use my reference code, we each get $10 credit after you purchase. Really. Enough pitching. Here’s my code – to beer to not to beer?

I wanted to check it out, but could never make the “Like trying new craft beers?” pop-up go away. Yes, I like trying new craft beers, but I also like checking out a page first before handing over my name & email address
@bmacknz Gak! That’s horrible. I would have been interested (looking for a way to avoid the “all hops, all the time” trend of the local micros), but had the same problem. No way to dismiss the pop-up and just browse.
@curtw4 @bmacknz Yeah, dumb, but the thing is (and maybe this is worse), I don’t think those are the actual offers on the webpage. In fact, the webpage, once you are signed in, doesn’t really let you do anything other than manage your account. Maybe the app lets you do more pre-sign in? Not sure. But it does notify you when new selections are offered, so that’s cool.
Their service is run primarily through email and the app. Choose a secondary email, just to have a look, you don’t have to add any payment information until you want to.
@bmacknz i will actually use a fake email off a browser i rarely use. this lets me look, then i can go to a primary browser and set up a real account. don’t know about this page. but it’s how i handle that issue
I did this for about 3 months, have lots of beer to burn through and am leaving town in 2 days. Love the concept, love the descriptions, really not a big beer person but I definitely found some winners.
I can’t see signing up for something nebulous from people who are pushy about giving them your email and can’t even competently construct a web page.
@InnocuousFarmer The app, in my opinion, is far superior to their website.
Pretty sure I posted a similar thread. Feel free to use my code
I have been using Tavour to get some of the best beers I have had. Try it. There is no commitment.
Signup by clicking on this link https://www.tavour.com/?invitedby=124486 and we both get $10 after you purchase a beer.
@connorbush I think I used your code originally when I signed up in 2016. I got around to buying this month and we both got paid. Woo!
@ACraigL you’re my hero thank you!!
@jbartus
I considered it, but I live in Portland and almost everyone I know works in brewing. The service was not designed for people like me… The Quality Assurance department at the brewery I work for has an account though. They do “guest beers” at their taste panels.
@Oneroundrobb I work for a brewery in southern California. I enjoy Tavour because it provides an opportunity for me to try beers that aren’t available through distribution channels in my area (midwest/east coast). Also, many of the beers are a great value.
@connorbush I Just already have way too much beer in my “cellar”. Bottle swaps, beer secret santas, friends/brewers who like to share… I try to have people over to get through some of it, but those assholes always bring more beer with them.
I just went through the whole process only to find out they are not currently providing the service where I live. Hello! Fargo, ND is in the top 10 in every drinking category on this planet!
@tohar1 Surprising. I got service to PA, and they’re the most backwards liquor state, except for maybe Delaware.
In their defense, I’m going to guess that the “I’m over 21” checkbox is the mandatory piece of the puzzle, and that they’re CYA on the name and email address. Even if you put a tertiary email in, they’ve still done minimal due diligence.
Just got my first shipment. Gonna be a good 4th of July.
@ACraigL Nice haul.
@ACraigL Alewerks does great stuff.
(Edit: tagged the wrong person. Do people get pinged via edits? Let’s find out.)
I thought about signing up a while ago, but the beer selection at just the Albertsons or Fred Meyers grocery stores is amazing, with most all micros from Washington, Oregon, Colorado, Calif & others covered pretty good.
Then, I sometimes drive to Bevmo or Total Wines & More stores. They carry much more and hundreds of imports from every country.
I do wish I could find the Russian River Brewing beers. They won’t sell beer in Washington State. (Probably because what the Seahawks did to the 49ers)…
@daveinwarsh It took me almost a year to buy something. I was getting the emails, but all but ignored them. It wasn’t until I read about the Broken Skull did I enter payment info and add it to my order. I was delighted to get the $10 after that.
Even as a beer appreciator, I like reading the updates and descriptions when they offer something new.
@ACraigL If you ever want a larger variety, I can pop down to El Segundo and send you a case. Just let me know! Let’s recharge the great Mehrican beer exchange. El Segundo is in the LA Bewers Guild with the brewery for which I work. Nice dudes.
@connorbush Awesome! Might take you up on that. Up for a beer exchange as well.
@connorbush @ACraigL I am up for it as well!
