On your mark. Get set. Goat! (June 2026 Scapegoat Blame Thread)
4Summer is sneaking up as we speak, and you’re out here still blaming others for your problems. Knowing that won’t change, I’m just stepping in to get the spotlight off of @MrGoodGuy, as the mantle must pass on. Thanks for May, but June needs someone else on the hook, and who better than our @Pufferfishy. A fine catch, indeed. Surely AI won’t create something terrifying with this prompt…

Fugu all that noise. Good luck, @Pufferfishy.

Ok I want to start off, I want to blame/ know why not enough Rain in so area & flooding in others!
@mycya4me It was like that when I got here!
@mycya4me @Pufferfishy
BUT… can (will) you fix it??
@chienfou @mycya4me Chances are 50-50.

@Pufferfishy Here’s the image you requested for “A frustrated goat trapped between a dust storm and a tidal wave”
@mediocrebot @Pufferfishy
Looks like the bot is still learning the difference between tidal wave and tsunami…
@Pufferfishy But is NOW your issue, You can’t pass the Blame! hehehe
@Pufferfishy Looks like that You have an Issue on your hand! So how are you going to solve it?
@mycya4me OK - using my newly acquired goat powers (with the aid of some of Meh’s greatest hits as mythical totems) I’ve donned my sorcerers robes and am calling on the aethers to bring you the rain you so rightly deserve (simultaneously drawing moisture from those wet areas faster than a doubble-date with Ben Shapiro and Mark Zuckerberg)!
Expect results anywhere from 6 hours to 6 weeks from now (hey - it’s the weather, you can’t rush it)
BLAME!!! When I select “account -> Your Profile” on my smart i-crap-phone running firefox, the webpage loads, waits a few seconds, and reloads ad infinitum. @Pufferfishy , can you do something about this?
@cfg83
Perhaps it’s the universe sending karma for being nosey!
Lol
Hmm…
BTW, it works fine for me!
Is there anything specific you want to know…

@cfg83 Well, I don’t use Crapple, I prefer to let Google mine and sell my data, but perhaps I can offer some useful suggestions…
I don’t want to assume anything, so have tried after simply power-cycling your phone?
Are you sure you’re running the latest release of FireFox?
Are the core OS and apps also updated? Sometimes that matters too…
Can you clear the cache / data for the app? This one can be a little disruptive (you’ll get logged out of sites, etc), but can go a long way in clearing out broswer kruft.
I’ve heard stories that a mere 20 seconds in a microwave can solve a lot of functionality issues on smart phones - I don’t recommend this myself but it’s something to think about…

@cfg83 It’s because you have too many huge image files in there. That’s happened to me in the past when I posted a lot of memes & giphies; in your case it’s your addiction to the damn AI showmes. The profile only keeps a month’s worth of content so if you take a break from the showmes it will solve the problem.
@Kyeh @Pufferfishy Ok, ok. The microwave didn’t work, so I will try it in chrome or safari.

@cfg83 Here’s the image you requested for “Anthropomorphized goat using slightly charred iPhone to read meh.com webpage.”
@mediocrebot Yup. My eyes are messed up, so I can only read things that are reflected. I am reading the iPhone from a mirror off screen.
@cfg83 @Kyeh
as another alternative you can try changing your filters on you profile to not pull the stuff YOU post. Of course, this will have to be done on a different device!!
It may not be sufficient to eliminate the huge data dump if you have a lot of ‘stars’ on your AI generated posts (and they are filtered to display). Second step would be to filter out the “likes” you have given/received (I assume you WANT to see the replies you have gotten, so lastly, you can try leaving ONLY that box ticked). If none of that works. try the KYEH method for a month or so!
Good luck (with your problem or getting the @PF June goat to fix it for you.)
Blame-my parrot Ginger goes through balsa wood toys so quickly I have to have a good supply on hand when they get to the point she will no longer bite them (yes-she is that picky).
Anyway most cost effective way is to order mass quantities of them when they are on sale at Petsmart. (ie buy 2 get one free and 20% off the entire order. Just recently ordered 9 of them which after discounts off the 16.73 per item cost came to a little over $ 100.00 plus tax.
I applaud Petsmart for trying to fill the order, but having it arrive in 5 separate containers at 3 different times is too much.
@Felton10
damn… that’s a picky (& pricey) parrot. Maybe

@mediocrebot
score!
@Felton10 How long did it take her to destroy the one I sent you for her?
@Kidsandliz Still going strong-can’t destroy rope ones-just bites the ropes with minimal damage. Should be using that one for a long time.
@chienfou She is both picky and pricey with regard to everything. Not many species where every article mentions how stubborn the female is so we expected it.
@Felton10 well that’s good to hear that at least that one is surviving the “attacks”. I guess you never can retire so that you have the money to buy all the toys she is destroying.
@Kidsandliz She bites on it after each meal not really doing much if any damage to it. Yeh-it sucks that I have to keep on working to keep the bird in toys.
@Felton10 I’ve been hard at work in Pufferfishy’s crafting workshop
- hopefully I’ve come up with some things to keep Ginger happy…
@chienfou It’s interesting to see that AI appears to favor the Hyacinth Macaw.
Longer back that I care to remember a friend in college had one - and while it was a visually stunning animal, I don’t think it’s upbringing was ideal - it was incredibly aggressive and generally a hazard to anyone other than the owner.
Well, crap. What’s the deal Pufferfishy??
I just noticed the fish pond out front is only about 1/3 full. Should be overflowing, with all the rain lately. I am hoping it is simply a bunch of roots on one of the levels of the spill over that is allowing water to back up enough to overflow the sides of the barrier. Hopefully it isn’t a leak in the liner.
At any rate, I’ll take advantage of it being low to clean the filter and re-pot some of the aquatics and scrub down the sides of the lower pool.
BUT, this was NOT on my agenda for today!!!
BLAME The lawn police are out clearly expecting you to have cut your yard when there is still visible standing water in it after a pile of days of rain in a row. Sheesh.
@Kidsandliz You have a lawn you have to cut now?
@Kyeh I am sharing a house to get away from the high functioning sociopath manager where I used to live. It, um, has some problems like foundation problems that caused the ceiling to fall in - about 24’ by 8’… floors go up and down. Here until I figure out what I doing next. At least everything is out of storage so I can downsize and then try to find a much smaller place that I can rent alone.
@Kidsandliz Well, that’s good! I did see the pictures of the collapsed ceiling!
I didn’t realize it was a house with a yard.
@Kyeh Yeah unfortunately a yard that requires the mower I sold never thinking I’d have one again. Sigh.
And I still need my snow shovel - not because of snow - rather I need it to shovel water off the driveway so then water drains off the lawn where it floods so that the grass and soil actually dry out so I can cut it.
My 12 year old grad was shoveling it today and decided it was too much work. To his credit he finished it though. He asked to do that rather than use a bucket to bail holes in the front yard so I did that instead of shoveling. I chose not to tell him what he was going to do was going to be harder.
@Pufferfishy
BLAME! My riding lawnmower is ready to give up the Ghost (I have had over I guess a Decade)
so bad is it, that I have to go buy another one.
I need you to send me a Check to cover the cost!
@mycya4me YOU GOT IT! (rubs magic lamp)
May your lawn be the stuff of the “Parade of Homes”
@mycya4me
I’ve been contemplating having to replace mine recently as well. I have a tendency to use mine as a sort of bush hog, including mowing down bamboo behind my fence line. It’s only about 6 years old at this point but I believe that the mower deck top surface is no longer flat, so the spindles are slightly canted (I broke one when I hit a stump in the yard that was buried in a bunch of tall weeds). This causes the grass to mow unevenly. Replacing a deck will cost about half as much as a new mower… which is crazy. I’m not sure if I can pound it out flat enough that it would be even, besides which it probably is stressed now so not sure how long it would hold up even if I did.
I may keep this one to use for non-aesthetic “bush hogging” and to haul around the dump style yard trailer. That would allow me to save any “new one” for finish mowing and bagging of clippings to be used as mulch on my garden. I wouldn’t miss swapping back and forth between the bagger and the trailer…
@chienfou When the mower deck on my (John Deere) riding lawn mower wore out, I checked around and found a new same-brand replacement deck for less than 1/3 of the cost of replacing the whole mower (may have been a unicorn, though). Three years later, everything is still working fine
. YMMV
@chienfou I gave up using a bagger on the rear… you had to empty it way to much!
@mycya4me
I use mine to mulch my garden. It goes over the top of cardboard to keep the weeds down in the veggie patch. Worth the effort.
@Pufferfishy Thank You for the FAT Check, I will try NOT to spend it in one place. But with Cameras, Computers & 3d printers it is easy to do!
@chienfou @mycya4me
You might want to try cutting back on the fiber.

@macromeh @mycya4me

But it’s GRASS… Pretty much all fiber!!
/image ROTFLMAO
@chienfou @macromeh I Also do a LOT of ROTFLMAO at so many %$^#@* statements on other Social Media. I know it truly Pissed them Off, BUT I truly don’t give a Duck! It even really makes my Day when they complain! It really tickle my fancy hehehe
I’m sorry I’m not able to respond to everyone in timely fashion - I’ve been traveling since the 12th of May and am getting a bit exhausted.
I’ll be heading home tonight and will pick up on my goatly duties in the days ahead. So feel free to pile on - surely it’s my fault!
@Pufferfishy So UNBLAME that we have a conscientious goat?
@Pufferfishy
Are you still in Scandinavia?
@chienfou Sadly no - I came home for 4 days then headed off to Vegas for a trade event. Back to Tampa at 1am this morning.
My body has no idea what timezone it’s in RN.
Bonus - my dog decided to express his displeasure with my schedule by taking a huge dump next to my suitcase where I’d left it by the front door (AFTER he’d been taken out for his morning constitutional).
@Pufferfishy
At least he was gracious enough to crap NEXT to the suitcase!
@Pufferfishy Hey you have been the Most Vocal Goat we have had in months! So I say Thank You.
Now do something about these storms. & many other things
BLAME
The dumb fuck idea that you get no medicaid health care if you aren’t working half time (umm if people are really sick long term they may need to take time off from their job or can’t work that many hours a week, or if their kid is) was not supposed to include cancer patients in treatment as they were included in the “frail” group whom the rules didn’t apply to.
The new rules just came out. With rare exceptions, to keep their medicaid so they can keep getting chemo and not die, most cancer patients will have to work half time. Initially everyone was assured this won’t be the case. A number of groups are suing over this.
In addition when your immune system is really compromised due to chemo you need to stay home so you don’t get sick and then die of whatever you are sick of as you don’t have enough of an immune system to fight it off.
Cripes I had to work full time through chemo as I had used up all my sick days with cancer #2 earlier that year. I worked for 6 weeks with a temperature of 102-104. Absolutely no fun and my oncologist had a cow over that. It took every out of me to do so. And my then minor kid was having meltdowns as it was clear I was really sick - more so than I would have been if I didn’t have to work.
And I was lucky I could work. Some people with chemo were sicker than I was and couldn’t pull that off. I guess now if they have medicaid they will be consigned to die as treatment will be stopped. There is an appeal process but it won’t be quick so even if the win they might already be dead.
This starts 7/1/27. I sure hope that decision is undone. What a bunch of dumb fuck assholes who decided this after apparently lying about it all along. I’d say more but that has it’s own special thread. Fucking assholes who decided this clearly know nothing about how high risk that is for those folks, not to mention some just won’t be able to pull that off and so will be facing cancer with no medical insurance.
@Kidsandliz Yeah - the outlook for healthcare in this country is pretty much cooked. Even the most conservative estimates of the number of Americans that will die from this administration’s recent changes is heartbreaking.
And there’s a large number of healthcare facilities and service orgs expected to cease to exist because of those same changes. Mostly affecting the aged, but then there’s going to be a lot fewer of them surviving the coming years.
Sorry I don’t have any witty riposte to take blame for this one, it’s a truly dire situation that’s generally reflective of the broken states of America rn.
No, they’re fully aware, that only serves to make the entire situation worse. These are Obama’s “Death Panels” the right was terrified about - but slap a red hat on it and it’s A-OK.
@Kidsandliz Hey I am past 65 & I don’t have to worry about those stupid rules, Except If I do paid work & more than I believe 20+ hours I loose my insurance & other stuff! you see I only live on Social Securty which means They also pay for my Part B. the last 20-28 years I have world contract. W2 is the only Bennie. But one perk is that I have access to “Museums 4 All” awesome perk!
OWLS! TOWELS! JOWLS! AWESOME!
UNBLAME!!! I finally live where I can play music I like at any volume I want to and not disturb anyone! I spent way too many years having to be considerate, being careful not to drop something on the floor at night as it is loud for the people under me (and one person complained about my cats jumping off the cat trees no less), playing music, the tv, etc. really softly…YEA!
@Kidsandliz Congrats, I HATE with a passion HOA’s, BTW I don’t live in one!
I’m getting too old to help friends move furniture.
Got Delayed Onset Muscle Soreness in my left arm around 1:00 AM that had me in a hot/cold shower for an hour before having to search for some non-expired Tylenol to go back to sleep.
Well things escalated. Plunked myself in bed today with a mild fever (dizziness, aches, etc.) Thankfully I have liquid IV, mushroom noodles, granola, and a working electric kettle nearby.
@pakopako
Sputum! (aka: phlegm)
Specifically the green kind, which is finally an indicator that whatever ails me is finally leaving. Which is great, since I have to run a film tomorrow. But dang, I missed my reservation for being the viewer for three of them this week.
What could have been a major blame turned out to be only a fairly minor one.
(You don’t appreciate how much you depend on your water source until it stops working.)
We live in a rural area and have a private well. We have depended on it for water for 28 years now, with only minor issues/maintenance.
But Monday evening when I turned on the kitchen tap, nothing came out. Oh shit!
So first thing Tuesday morning I called the well guy (same business that originally installed it) and waited for him to arrive. The guy showed up, did a little trouble shooting, replaced some components in the well controller and the water flowed. Woohoo! He was only here for about 30 minutes.
So now I’m waiting to receive the bill, but it will be only a pittance compared to the cost of replacing the well pump (which is ~230ft down).
@macromeh
230 feet! You must live on a mountain!
@macromeh @therealjrn 230 ft is shallow for a lot of the country. Much of West Texas requires a hole several times that deep despite being dead flat. I’m just 62 ft above MSL here in Houston, and I’d have to go down about 140 ft to get a decent flow rate from a well. By contrast, in Miami, 25 ft will often get you 5 gallons per second from a two-inch pipe, and you can just run it via suction from the top.
@therealjrn
Actually yes, a smallish one - we are in the foothills of the Oregon Coast Range at ~800ft elevation. We can see the Columbia River (down the hill, at virtually sea level according to Google) from our back deck.
@werehatrack
Yeah, but this is NW Oregon - known for lots-o-water.
Being in the hills makes digging a well somewhat hit-or-miss. Ours is ~230 feet deep/20 gal per minute flow. Our next neighbor to the south is similar.

Our next neighbor to the north is 750 feet and 1.5 gal per minute. His next neighbor up the road to the north has a ground-level spring. It’s a crap shoot.
@macromeh
That sounds beautiful
@therealjrn Our “Little Slice of Heaven”
Actually, like everywhere else, there are pluses and minuses. But we’ve enjoyed/dealt with them for 28 years now, with no current plans to change.
Blame! The blower motor on the AC in the Caravan is dead, the AC on the Sentra appears to have a leak which hasn’t produced a dye stain that I can find yet, and the Scion has decided to pout until it gets new plugs, new coils, and an oil change. Grump.
@werehatrack
At least you have a fleet to pick from!
Unblame-Client just called me and told me she got a refund check from the IRS. Nothing unusual about that except it was the exact duplicate of a check she was expecting and received about a month ago. No secret as to why things are screwed up at the IRS-just look at the reflecting pool fiasco. Told her since this was an unexpected windfall, if she got a third check, it was mine.
@Felton10 Wait until she gets the unexpected bill for cashing it.
