Something New
Hey, it’s me! Your dog. And I just wanted to say, Happy New Year’s Eve!
Not that I would know anything about a new year. After all, I’m a dog. Everything is always the same for me.
Now, look. I get it. There’s so much out there about how dogs need routine, they need stability, they need a job, and so on. And there’s plenty of anecdotal evidence to back all this up. Like how, when I miss my big walk for one day because there’s literally a blizzard raging outside, I turn into a friggin’ psychopath.
Or then, there was that time when they were out of my brand at the dog food store, and so you got another, and for the next week, it smelled a little bit like some sort of sulfur-spewing refinery had opened up in your living room.
Then there’s the fact that you have to take wide, nonsensical routes through town so we don’t pass the dog park, otherwise, I will literally have a meltdown and give you the stink eye for the entire day when we don’t pull in and toss the ball around for two hours.
What I’m saying is: I get it. We dogs benefit from having a set schedule, of doing what we expect to do when we expect to do it. But there’s a difference between a set schedule and designing a life for me that’s like a canine remake of Groundhog Day. I can eat the same food, and take the same walks at the same times every day, but a little variety here and there wouldn’t kill me.
For example, you could get some new dog treats. Like these chicken-flavored ones from Zesty Paws.
There are options for hemp-based treats. There are 8-in-1 treats loaded with antioxidants that improve my immune system, physical performance, and heart function, while helping me maintain the health of my hips, joints, skin, liver, and heart. Heck, there’s even an option for senior dogs.
Oh, and by the way, you get more than 300 of them. So, you know, you can give surprise me with them… and then give them to me for the foreseeable future.
Maybe I don’t mind a routine if it involves a bunch of treats, okay?
So buy some, and let’s kick off 2023 with something new!
