@llangley Wow, really red! I’m envious - maybe at this altitude the atmosphere is too thin because I’ve never seen it actually red. Tonight there’s been filmy clouds too, so it’s obviously gone dark but it’s very hazy.
@Kyeh I definitely got lucky…forgot about it until I checked the SpaceX launch and saw it had been postponed again. Remembered somehow (probably the other astronomical post), set the alarm, went outside and there it was!!
Shot a short video of the early part of the eclipse using time lapse with a Canon sx740. 40x optical zoom capability is handy for such things.
Had it set up on a tripod on the pool deck and it did a pretty good job of capturing an hour’s worth of change in an 8 second clip. Alas it was at the very beginning and clouds rolled through during that time. Saw absolutely zilch after that when I went back to run another session after an hour. (The camera has a preset limit for time lapse. Guess I could have rolled out my old camcorder which I used for the last few eclipses that I was able to shoot. But I didn’t.)
The previous photo was done with an iPhone 13
And no special messing with it because I haven’t a clue
This next photo was done by android a pixel 4a or something
@f00l
obviously I could use a tripod or maybe even some photographic knowledge
I took these…Samsung Galaxy S23+.
