A Meh-rathon Murder Mystery!
“How’d it go, sir?” asks Michael.
He and the rest of the crew have loaded famed living statue Enrique LoQuard into the wooden box and brought him out to the moving truck. As usual, the three others ride up front, while Michael rides in the back with his employer.
“All according to plan,” comes Enrique LoQuard’s voice through the wood. “Another billionaire offed without any suspicion falling upon us.”
“The frame job went off without a hitch, then?” Michael says.
“Better than ever, I’d say,” Enrique LoQuard says. “The poor guy might even believe himself that he did it. I feel bad about that, of course. But what are you gonna do? Anyway, he didn’t have much going on.”
“Absolutely,” Michael says. “We have to keep the big picture plan in mind.”
“Speaking of,” Enrique LoQuard says, “who’s next?”
“You’re booked for a party at Larry McLarndale’s in two weeks. CEO of Larry’s Sammies, a sub-shop chain. About forty-thousand locations worldwide. Net worth north three bil,” Michael says.
“Two weeks isn’t long,” Enrique LoQuard says. “We’ll have to start planning right away. Give me the attendees from least suspicious to most.”
Michael begins listing all the expected guests.
