Don't Let Us Scare You

We could scare you into buying one of these Life Gear flashlights. We could point to the recent storms in the Northeast that left millions without power for days, and highlight the consequences for you (and your family) if you were left in similar straits without a reliable backup flashlight.

But that’s not our style.

We’re not fear-mongers. We want you to make a clear-headed purchasing decision. We don’t want to paint a grim picture of a natural disaster striking your home, with you pawing blindly through wreckage and screaming “MACKENZIE!! MACKENZIE HONEY CAN YOU HEAR ME??”

We’re above that.

Sure, we could ask manipulative questions like, “Is your family’s well-being worth $12?” And, “Why set yourself up for a lifetime of regret and self-loathing after your home falls into a sinkhole and you lose your beloved dog into the dark abyss — all for the want of a flashlight?” But those kind of scare-tactics are exactly what we abhor about other retailers.

We’re not even going to try to upsell you on the bigger flashlight. You should pick the one that’s right for you, even the smaller — we won’t say lesser — option if that means sacrificing possibly life-saving luminosity for a few measly bucks.

It’s totally up to you.

And if you want to make the reasonable argument that your phone’s flashlight works just fine, we won’t try to dissuade you. Sure it might mean losing precious battery life that could be used calling emergency services or looking up “How to save daughter from rubble,” but you’re right: Your phone’s flashlight works fine.

Don’t let us scare you.
