- A robotic floor cleaner that both vacuums and mops- Well, it claims to have a"5-Stage Cleaning System that sweeps, lifts, vacuums, mops and dries in a single pass but were not sure what the difference between those first 3 verbs is- The tangle-free extractor says, Get thee behind me, pet hair- It runs for 100 minutes on a charge and sports an XL dustbin- You control it with a remote (it doesnt connect to Wi-Fi like the similar M81 Pro) though the whole point is that it mostly runs on its own- Model: DB3G (They already had a model number in M81 but thought it best to create an additional one with a confusing reference to cellular 3G technology)
Losing Our Touch
When we first heard the brand EcoVacs we figured it was a little-known knock-off outfit selling robo-vacs to grandmas. Then we saw that Wirecutter picked an EcoVac (the Deebot N79) as their top robot vacuum.Whaaa?When did we get so out of touch with robot vacuums that we no longer recognize a top brand? We used to be the robot vacuum people. The first product we ever sold was from iRobot, for sucks sake. We certainly didnt stop absorbing new cultural references over 20 years ago.
