This is meant to be patch notifications not for discussion (maybe replies under a patch for discussion on a patch, but to be helpful— I’m wanting to make a place we’re people can let others know about the patches that are out.
I have dozens of devices and basically none of them are going to get updates. For instance, 3rd gen iPad, 5th gen iPod touch, Airport Extreme (the flat one, previous model), Withings WiFi scale…even my Chromebook isn’t patched and Google says it will come within “weeks” (haven’t they known about the bug for months??)
Only the computer industry can get away with this kind of thing…I wish Apple would at least patch iOS 9!
@awk I was deliberately holding back on upgrading an iPad because Apple broke compatibility with an old, unmaintained game that I wanted to keep playing (Lost Treasures of Infocom, mainly for its charming representation of the feelies and manuals).
Now I’m not sure what to do with it… could leave it off the network, I guess. I was using it for other things, is the problem.
At least I haven’t purchased any WiFi lights or … wait, are the Philips Hue bridges susceptible? Shit.
(Ahhh, nope. Good old fashioned wires and zigbee, which’ll have entirely different vulnerabilities. Wait, I’ve got a smart TV. Shit.)
So… my 5x only got 2017-11-05… so it’s still vulnerable… looks like the 2017-11-06 won’t actually land until nearer to december.
so … I spoke too soon… no krack fix yet.
Oct 10th windows updates patches windows pc’s.
For anybody using LineageOS on their Android device, all 14.1 builds from October 17th and on are protected.

@thismyusername Had to manually check for updates today to get it on the pixel.
@gumtreertmug I read it, but it doesn’t really clear it up does it? website still says 11-06-2017 or later, I guess they want to be more like apple?

I mentioned in an earlier thread that Peplink routers were only vulnerable if they a: had Wifi as WAN functionality and b: were using said functionality. Peplink has released an updated firmware for affected units.
