@ybmuG Thinking warm thoughts for you.
(No choice, we’re supposed to hit over 80 today here in central TX and i have much yard work still to catch up on .)
@phendrick
Of course the fact that I had decided to plant asparagus the day before didn’t help. I had dug down about 18 inches to the clay layer in anticipation of laying down some compost and light soils to help with drainage for 8 inches or so then planting the crowns so they would drain well. Came out the next morning and the water in the hole was level with the surface due to run off. Looked like a swimming pool! Thankfully it’s perked down over the last couple of days so hopefully I can get in there and plant them before the weekend is over.
TL:DR Damn crazy weather!
@phendrick@ybmuG
And… Another storm and 1.5 inches of rain last night.
Naturally I just got done fishing all the leaves out of the pool from that last deluge. Also had to rewire the main pump where water got into it since it’s under an eave and some water evidently got in it in that last crazy rain.
May glowers?
Cold
April snow bring May flows, after it all melts?
Dead May flowers?
@phendrick that’s what I’m afraid of, though i think most are safe. The lilacs in our yard haven’t budded too much yet so I hope they’re still OK

@phendrick thanks. I’d 37 right now so I’ll take whatever i can get!
Birdseed
Aptil monsoons bring 8" of rain and standing water in the yard. I walked out to check the garden the other day and sank up over my ankles in mud!

@chienfou yeah, I’ll take a couple inches of snow over that
@chienfou At least requirements for watering will be low for a while. Partial win?

@chienfou @ybmuG and this month’s GOAT has barely gotten any blame at all, so far.
