To make sure we don’t over-sell any product’s particular health benefits, we’ve gone ahead and established a new ten-person research department. And today, we’ve given their first assignment: kombucha! We asked them to thoroughly look into the health benefits of everyone’s favorite fermented tea drink, and here’s what they sent back:
Numerous health benefits have been claimed to correlate with drinking kombucha;[10] there is little evidence to support any of these claims.[8][10][11] The beverage has caused rare serious adverse effects, possibly arising from contamination during home preparation.[12][13] It is not recommended for therapeutic purposes.
Great work, everyone! This is why we pay you the big bucks. Though, not sure what the numbers are about. They almost look like Wikipedia citations! Ha, imagine that! Hiring a new research department and having them quote Wikipedia to us!
But look, say what you will about the evidence or lack thereof. Sometimes you just feel it in your gut (pun intended) that something has restorative properties. (And those restorative properties might just be a bit of fizz.)
Besides, it’s not all about what kombucha does. Some people love the taste. And people especially love the taste of this stuff. If you don’t believe us, check Amazon, where this brand earns a rating of 4.4 out of 5 based on more than 3000 reviews.
Here’s one from “Joe Detox” for the Orange Splash flavor:
I’ve had many kombucha drinks in the past, but none quite like Remedy Kombucha. This truly may help me kick my soda habit for good. The flavor I tried is Orange Splash, and while is does have that traditional kombucha taste, it doesn’t stop there. The element of crisp orange soda flavor permeates throughout, creating a uniqueness in any kombucha I’ve tried.
And here’s one from Kari Cunningham for the Ginger Lemon flavor:
I love Ginger Kombucha so was worried the lemon would be too much but it’s just right! The flavor is perfect and the consistency is spot on. Well done, Remedy!
And, finally, here’s one from P.D. for the Raspberry Lemonade flavor](https://www.amazon.com/gp/customer-reviews/RHUPXUVKNIFD4/ref=cm_cr_getr_d_rvw_ttl?ie=UTF8&ASIN=B07W8XBZGZ):
In pursuit of the new goal of good gut health, kombucha was on the list of things to add. I tried a few, and this one far an away is just like drinking a fun, lightly-fizzy drink that tastes exactly like the name. I do wish it was a little less expensive, but I suppose there’s a point where you should be paying for quality. The size is smaller than you may be expecting, but I find it’s plenty.
I especially liked this one because of that last part. Personally, I’m a kombucha enjoyer, not a kombucha fanatic. As such, I often get intimidated by the enormous 20oz glass bottles I see at the grocery store for, like, $6 apiece. 8.5oz seems like the perfect amount to enjoy in one sitting.
Oh, and to catch some of you before you rush to the forum - yes, the ingredients list sugar, but that’s used for the fermentation process and none is left behind, and yes, it is sweetened with Stevia and Erythrito. (We’d ask our research department to give us their analysis, but, unfortunately, we’ve already fired them.)
Anyway, buy some kombucha. People like it, and it’s not usually this cheap.
