Well, THIS is new!
4Ok, opened my browser to check on my account with meh and lo and behold… what popped up:
When did that start to be a thing?
And while we are at it (assuming you are taking part) What’s your experience with Rakuten been like?
Personally I’ve had kind of mixed results. Seems like I have to go back and ‘apply’ for the credits sometimes, but overall I have gotten back most of what I was supposed to get. This is particularly nice with items that are relatively high ticket where it amounts to dollars back instead of mere cents (especially if you hit it when they are doing 5% or more back). For instance on a recent car rental I ended up with about $10 if I recall correctly. My biggest problem is when I am ‘price shopping’ and then forget to turn the rebate back on when I go back to buy the item.
As always… YMMV.

meh must love you more than they love me. That didn’t pop up for me. Not that I buy enough that it would make a difference though.
That looks like a browser extension unrelated to Meh.com.
@ExtraMedium
That was my first thought but the Rakuten extension doesn’t fire for sites they don’t do business with (AFAIK). For instance… Nothing if I open Amazon (curiously… woot fires it off). Costco or Little Caesar’s nada but Sam’s elicits a pop up…
As Arte Johnson would say:
This didn’t happen in the past so I am wondering: is this is some weird phenomenon due to a change in either the extension or browser updates or site styling… or whatever.
¯\_(ツ)_/¯
@ExtraMedium
guess I will have to wait to see if I actually get any $$ back when I order from meh next…
Do you have to click the rebate first or can you click it after you’ve purchased the item in the month?
@Star2236 The transaction has to have been via Rakuten’s payment system, if I recall correctly.
I use evreward.com to identify portal sites with discounts before major purchases. They do indeed list Rakuten as having a 2.5% rebate for meh.com.
@earmstrong
Looks kind of like they might have tried to just sneak that one by us. Not much (any) fanfare, maybe just checking to see how many people actually click through the Rakiten link to see if it’s worth their while.
Any further word on this? Is it just MY browser? Looks kinda legit based on the above screenshot…
