The S&W knives I have seen are right there with Schrade. Which is to say, pretty crappy. May be a good deal for the price but I literally have dozens of knives I would grab before these. So, pass.
@huja Plural, yes. And she didn’t have a handy knife! Seemed good for work since she opens plenty of boxes… but then she started forgetting to take it to work… and the found some box cutters on clearance at Walmart, so now she has those.
These cheap knives are great for if you need to off someone quickly & quietly, especially in a spur-of-the-moment situation, like a road-rage incident. They’re very commonplace & nearly impossible to track/trace. And the textured handles/grips are nearly impossible to get a usable finger print off of.
@AchromatterYou, sir, clearly have not watched enough CSI: Miami. You may think you got away with it, but then they’ll lift your prints from the air just above the corpse and look up the marks left by particular imperfections in your blade in their Knife Blade Imperfection Database. Then Horatio’ll put you in the interrogation room, say you’re resisting arrest and dramatically close the shades so they can ironically cut to a commercial for Ginsu knives.
@kensey - Bullshit!! That ginger, over emoting, douchebag couldn’t solve the case of a missing butt-plug. He certainly couldn’t track down anyone who used one of these crappy knives to commit a crime.
BTW, the Chinese only have ONE crappy knife-making machine, so every single knife leaves behind the exact same marks.
If you can sharpen them, they might be okay. They are light-weight for the ultralight hikers, maybe.
I would just consider them to be disposable. Use it to cut wire, until it becomes a serrated blade. Throw it at that stump that annoys you. Use it to open a can of beans (but only from a distance - that blade might snap).
It’s a $5.00 knife. It’s worth 5 bucks to me I suppose.
Really, another knife??? The creativity of product offerings has gone on this site. My interest in MEH is dropping fast. Their product selector needs to be replaced or they will have to find new set of followers. This is getting to be a really boring site.
So let me get this straight. Amazon has them for $16.50, with two day shipping. I get $1.50 off, and have to wait two extra weeks for mine! Signed me up!!!
I got 2 of these last time. I like the tanto shape blade as it is easy to sharpen. The quality is pretty good & for $5, it’s kind of awesome. The problem is that I just don’t need any more knives. I think I have 4 pocket knives still in the box, as well as the ones I actually use. Maybe for gifts?
@shawndogsarmy I had luck un-jamming mine with a pair of channel-locking pliers, but don’t recommend opening it if you want to close it again before you get back to a pair of pliers. Cheap and annoying, perfect for very few things. A gift for someone you don’t like?
These knives are truly craptastic. Yes Smith and Wesson can make some decent knives, but these are not those. I got one as a gift from a distant aunt and it sucks out loud. The is the thinnest piece of chinesium that can still technically be called a knife. The action is so rough and slow that the flipper doesn’t really flip. Meh.
@Bingo Nope. I had no idea and I carry a gun every day. Oh well.
Never been one for abbreviations when the original phrase was short enough to say or type (or when it’d end up taking more time to explain said abbreviation than if it had just used it in the first place).
Bought these the last time. Umm, they are hardly worth it. Perhaps suitable for opening a box, but there’s no way this should be used for self-defense. You’ll likely hurt yourself from the cheap construction as it falls apart in your hands.
I need this but you don’t ship to Scotland.We are brexiting and if things continue on the current path “the roads will run with blood” so say our newspapers (well one did others said the same but more restraint) I am a grandma, an immigrant and helpless…but you don’t ship to Scotland meh.

“Shoot” knives again S&W high caliber no doubt!
@AttyVette
Nice point
Hello. Knife to meet you.
Chop!
This deal doesn’t cut it
@nichojr If it wasn’t these knives, then it was you that cut the cheese.
I thought it was important for me to rush over here to express my indifference with today’s meh.
knivesandspeakerdocks.com
"It’s a pair of knives for five bucks, from a brand name you’ve heard of. "
is is $5 or $10?
@clonetek $10 for two which means it costs you only $5 each.
Should we be arming ourselves for hand to hand combat? Is meh trying to tell us something?
Buyers need some imagination. I know they sell, but what about meeeeee?
“It’s a pair of knives for five bucks”. Not quite. It’s a pair of knives for $10. $5 a knive…
@bfg9000 $5 a knife…
“It’s a pair of knives for five bucks, from a brand name you’ve heard of.”
I see ten bucks. Am I missing something?
@Khaztr Yes, you need to update your internal parser so “for” binds at a higher precedence than “of”.
@Khaztr WITH a brand you’ve heard of. I doubt these are actuall FROM Smith and Wesson.
Scoping out the competition eh meh??
Smith & Wesson Black Tanto Tactical Knives
@JT954 nicely done
When do we get to see the Shun block set back again?
@wooterondo only after everyone’s tax refund comes in
The S&W knives I have seen are right there with Schrade. Which is to say, pretty crappy. May be a good deal for the price but I literally have dozens of knives I would grab before these. So, pass.
@ponagathos I have had some nice Schrades. Some of my favorite knives are Schrades. These sir, are no Schrades.
Got these last time. One is stuck open now, after just a couple days of use
It made me sad gave the other one to one of my gfs, so now I have none.
@Talidan Arming one of your girlfriends (plural)? Good luck with that.
@Talidan Don’t worry, you might get another girlfriend again.
@Talidan your lucky day! They’re for sale today so you can restock.
@Talidan same here, got one for my son and then traded him… I ended up kind of fixing the defective one, but they do pretty much suck
@robson What did you trade your son for?
@cengland0 also, calling him defective is pretty mean
@RedOak Girlfriends are on sale today? Too expensive at any price.
@cengland0 I gave him the knife with the working lock mechanism. I ended up with the one that was kind of sketchy
@huja Plural, yes. And she didn’t have a handy knife! Seemed good for work since she opens plenty of boxes… but then she started forgetting to take it to work… and the found some box cutters on clearance at Walmart, so now she has those.
@Talidan The Tanto blade is really a poor choice for opening boxes.
@Martyham But she didn’t have anything else at the time.
Give whoever wrote that model number note a raise

@Achromatter You’ve now made everyone here a suspect. And given everyone an idea…

@Achromatter YIKES!
@michaelgj2002 - Yes, be afraid, be very afraid.
@kensey - Bullshit!! That ginger, over emoting, douchebag couldn’t solve the case of a missing butt-plug. He certainly couldn’t track down anyone who used one of these crappy knives to commit a crime.

Friggin amateurs…
@Achromatter I am very, very, very afraid…knife weilder.
Wait. You’re now admitting these are crap after selling me a couple a month or so ago? Meh.
Took you only a month to catch on?
Check out the brain on @RedOak.
Ok, we’re getting closer.
I see the blades, but not sure where the Bluetooth comes into play.
@PlacidPenguin You don’t need bluetooth when it’s a speaker dock. Duh.
Link to last time forum comments.
Same model number, same 2-fer price, 1/3/2017
Already made the mistake of buying these once, definitely wouldn’t recommend anyone repeating my folly.
@AmishCthulhu In for three.
ok…the pen is mightier than the knife. Even in a dark alley? Maybe someone should make a knife that has a pen in the handle. What then??
@eeterrific I guess that’d be a penknife… badum-tsssh
/buy the lot of it
@Yoda_Daenerys It worked! Your order number is: verbose-unlikely-steel
/image verbose unlikely steel
@mediocrebot wait? wat? i was joking
Thanks for buying them all! Everyone that wants one can contact @Yoda_Daenerys now.

Bring back the Poopturd knife!
@G1 My favorite edc.
@Stumpy91 Mine too, which surprised me.
@G1 Agreed, that was one nice knife, in spite of it’s looks. Very good quality, bought 2 of them even though they look like Mr hanky
@G1 Yes! Please do!
I don’t understand how/why @jasontoon’s hack write-up tempts me. But it does.
Really, another knife??? The creativity of product offerings has gone on this site. My interest in MEH is dropping fast. Their product selector needs to be replaced or they will have to find new set of followers. This is getting to be a really boring site.
@SMBeaver I know, right?! If I want products like this I’ll go to knivesandspeakerdocks.com.
Is there an accompanying app that drops a pin so I can locate my knife when I lose it? Even on purpose?
@Kenbo I have had good luck with fluorescent orange or green paracord key fobs. They look cheesy, but they help me spot my knives when I scan a room.
I got these, which are out of stock, but there are plenty of similar ones.
I found that using a metal twist tie made it easy to get it through the hole in my knives. People also use paper clips.
So let me get this straight. Amazon has them for $16.50, with two day shipping. I get $1.50 off, and have to wait two extra weeks for mine! Signed me up!!!
@tunfried63 wait. I’m getting screwed. My meh.com stuff typically arrives in a week. That’s not very meh.
Not a fan of the tanto blade.
@Stumpy91 Break the tips off enough knives against ribs and you’ll change your tune.
Or maybe you don’t plan to stab a lot of people, in which case I agree with you.
@bloewy They make great gifts, I gave 2 away from last time. I don’t EDC knives this big
I bought these last time. Both broke within 2 days. The blade release in both got jammed so they couldn’t close. Dangerous, DO NOT BUY!!!
@shawndogsarmy I had luck un-jamming mine with a pair of channel-locking pliers, but don’t recommend opening it if you want to close it again before you get back to a pair of pliers. Cheap and annoying, perfect for very few things. A gift for someone you don’t like?
@shawndogsarmy A knife that’s dangerous? Sounds like a buy to me.
Meh.
These in a knife fight is like a one-legged man in an ass-kicking contest.
Am I the only one who had to Google what the hell EDC meant?
@Bingo - A stand-up individual would have also added a definition to prevent more wasted Google bandwidth searching EDC.
Just sayin’.
@Bingo Nope. I had no idea and I carry a gun every day. Oh well.
Never been one for abbreviations when the original phrase was short enough to say or type (or when it’d end up taking more time to explain said abbreviation than if it had just used it in the first place).
@jbrookebarrow -
More of these? You should just put some stickers on them and send out buckets full of them to randomly selected “winners”.
Bought these the last time. Umm, they are hardly worth it. Perhaps suitable for opening a box, but there’s no way this should be used for self-defense. You’ll likely hurt yourself from the cheap construction as it falls apart in your hands.
Avoid temptation.
@Atwoody but ok for peeling potatoes right ,because that’s all were be having left to eat in oh…6 months or so
@lassy I wouldn’t recommend it. Too many crevices that would retain bacteria. Buy a 50P paring knife at ASDA.
I need this but you don’t ship to Scotland.We are brexiting and if things continue on the current path “the roads will run with blood” so say our newspapers (well one did others said the same but more restraint) I am a grandma, an immigrant and helpless…but you don’t ship to Scotland meh.
@lassy Scotland will never be invaded. No one can understand a thing you say!
I’m looking for a Shonen Knife
not a cheap tanto knife.
@mrapathy Great group of gals… I was born fifty years too soon!
I got a pair last offer. have used them a bit, not having any problems, no buyers remorse here. totally worth the price IMO
Dual wielding tanto folders … awesome!
Cool letter openers, brah
