LG G Pad 8" Android Tablet
- It’s really the real LG, a real brand
- 8", 1280x800 display for looking at things with your eyes
- It’s like a you-shaped hole with 16GB of space
- Runs on Android Lollipop, suckaz
- Be the first on your block to have a Qualcomm Snapdragon 1.2GHz processor (maybe, we don’t know the people on your block)
- Model: LGV480 (we’re honestly impressed if a company the size of LG can give all its products unique model numbers with just “LG” and four more characters)
Keep it simple, skinflint.
Say you’re looking for a tablet. First question: Android or iPad? If you choose iPad, you buy what Apple says you can buy. If you go the Android route, you’ve got choices. And you’ve got some work ahead of you.
(Unless money is no object, in which case you just buy the most expensive one. Also in which case you are not visiting our site right now to read this.)
So you start shopping. You check out this galaxy (no pun intended) of choices. In the higher-price zone are the names you recognize: Samsung, Sony, LG. The further down the price scale you go, the weirder the brand names get: Dragon Touch, Haehne, iRULU, Poofek, Techs Magic, zzGGz, Bangfork, Stuvwxyz, Curious Primo, we could go on all night.
Hmm, some of those prices are awfully low… and we’re not brand snobs… maybe it’s worth buying one of those weird off-brand Android tablets…
STOP. Stop it right now. Bad idea. Yeah, we’re not brand snobs. But if someone’s built an electronics brand you’ve actually heard of, they have much more to lose by dumping obvious garbage onto the market. What difference does it make to a company like Zuwu or CyberCyber if you tell everyone their tablet is a piece of shit?
Think about support, accessories, the future. How many people do you think Rongsonic has working on security and updates? How many people at Google are conferring with Koxogo about their upcoming hardware? Who do you contact when your DigiGlad M7 craps out? Are case manufacturers going to produce a line especially for the Lopez MagnuPad?
Keep it simple. Just buy the cheapest Android tablet you can find from a real brand name.
LG is for real. You’ve heard of their name before you started tablet shopping. They have real engineers, real support, a real presence in the marketplace. And today, at least, a real low price for this 8" G Pad. It’s got 16GB of storage capacity, a 1.2GHz quad-core processor. The screen isn’t ultra-high DPI, but otherwise, it’s a fine slab of tablet from a company that’s proven they can make things that work.
Or, you know, you could save a few dollars and take your chances with a Zhianang Kosmik IV.
