What's the single best item you've ever gotten from Meh?
3Seems like we’re quick to talk about worst items, especially those in IRKs, so let’s turn it around: what’s the best thing you’ve ever gotten? Was it something that wowed you because it was unusual, something you’ve always wanted, something that you never thought you’d see on Meh, something that was an unbelievably good deal? Tell us about it and tell us why it’s the best item! (IRK items and Meh items you got in a gift exchange are included.)
RIght now, I’d say the best item I’ve ever gotten is the two-pack of Einova Sirius GaN 65-Watt Adapters. They are just perfect for my Lenovo laptop and what’s makes them great to me is that they’re so much smaller than the factory adapter. The close runner-up was the set of Meh pint glasses.
When my Kenwood portable power station arrives, that will probably be my new best item because I’ve wanted a portable power station for a long time, but couldn’t justify the usual prices for one.

I guess I have to say the Cooks Essentials 15-Bar espresso maker, which I use daily for my AM energy crank, is the best: easy, reliable espresso with great crema. The TAMO extended battery case for my iPhone is a close second because my SE is always in it and has survived many drops along with never running completely out of juice. However my big IRK score, a Ninja 4-in-1 blender, was a nice surprise and gets a LOT of use.
@aetris me too
@aetris @Cerridwyn
I use mine all the time also
By far the one I have used the most is my food saver vacuum packer purchased many moons ago. Close second may be the ceramic clad skillet we got which gets used very frequently as well.
@chienfou
I got curious and looked it up. Bought my first FoodSaver in June of 2016. Almost 9 years ago. Also realized that the down alternative comforter that’s on our bed was an even earlier purchase and it’s been on there ever since. Oh, and the Ooma is still hooked up!
New and unused X Box Series X in an IRK.
In an Irk or on Meh?
Best thing on Meh I’ve ever had was the fruit jerky (pineapple chocolate), dark chocolate peanut butter cups, Snickers-like candy, and Ninja home appliances.
The best Irk was a garage-sized space heater the year before the winter hit hard.
@pakopako Part of me wants to ask how you use a space heater the size of a garage.
But my kids do enough intentional misinterpretation that I’m able to keep that part of me suppressed.
@xobzoo “it was a small garage”
Most would probably call it a shed, but long backtracking short, I couldn’t store it lying down on the floor in my house; the box was almost 6’ tall and when it toppled, the clang would resonate everywhere. Wound up laying it in the shed until it was needed (at which point I had to clear floor space for it)
I think it was during the epic bubble wrap irks I got toys for each grandchild (this was around christmas; based on what they were I am positive they were hand picked by someone at meh). As I was struggling with cancer (had two major ones in one year with chemo into the second) and finances that were totally trashed this was an incredible gift.
Best in an Irk - a Koolhandjoe original. It is hung on my wall.
Most used purchase - several are in regular use but I have to choose the comforters. Warm and holding up to regular use. Curled up in one now.
Most expensive - Dyson vacuum. I used it a few times then it was stolen.
Odd but useful fun - fidget spinners. I never really got into them. I played with them a bit but never got hooked. I keep a few on the counter at work. They distract and amuse people of all ages while I do paperwork. I have been dubbed a genius by more than one parent
I don’t think I want to review my purchases for more thoughts. More than one thing bought with a plan in mind and it fell through. Stuff sitting staring at me to get moving and do something with me.
@speediedelivery Koolhandjoe…That would be a hard one to beat!
@speediedelivery Oh yeah… light up fidget spinners. That halloween I was a very popular house. The kids would run into the street and yell, “This house has fidget spinners!”. I had about 200 of them I think (irks, bought when they were finally dumping them once I decided they’d be good at halloween, etc.)
I bought the Cat Loathing shirt 7 years ago. My wife eventually wanted it as a lazy-day shirt and still looks amazing in it.
@mikey demands a re-issue
@mikey @pmarin Agreed,
@brainmist @mikey @pmarin

@mikey
I love that! I’d definitely buy one, maybe they’ll make it again!
@narfcake A happy kitten is a wonderful thing. We have several grown-up permakittens. Or maybe they have us. The heirachical structure is odd.
Vaccum out of a fuko bag. 5 years later still going strong.
4k AOC from Myriad of Monitors.
Still using it at the cowork dedicated desk, though I do wish it’d had a VESA mount. Then it might’ve stayed in the home office.
Socks
@Pavlov Did you get the Meh socks?
@brainmist Yup.
@Pavlov I’d forgotten about my Meh knit beanie, but it has been useful when I’ve needed it.
I don’t recall the brand name, but I bought a compact carpet and upholstery spot cleaner that’s been extremely handy when dealing with cat-derived cleanup chores.
I’ve had some amazing IRK surprises. A very nice, ever so slightly dented toaster oven (rehomed, 'cause my counters are tiny, but may check in on bc the rehoming location closed).
Some awesome very bright fuchsia nesting luggage, which I immediately used to smuggle lemons.
(Am I a bad person to watch from the airplane while my very visible luggage gets grabbed, with an immediately obvious “OOF!” because it contains an extra 40# of lemons?
Yeah, ok, probably.)
A couple Amazon Blink cams (again, rehomed, because I had a friend with stalker concerns).
But the absolute, 100% best?
Was

MEALS! DEALS! EELS! AWESOME!
I love my Libratone USB-C earbuds and Audio Technica headphones. The cheap Voza wired earbuds are great for the gym.
@heartny The Libratone are good…
2-Pack: iWalk Scorpion Power Bank with Lightning, USB-C & Micro USB Cables.
Cables attached!
Also Cheer from Over Here and great non-down comforters a few years ago.
Cuisinart Toaster/Air Fryer counter top oven, cook in it almost daily, thing works great and with just two of us at home it’s the perfect size. No need to heat up the whole kitchen with the big oven!
Hubs uses his Beatz every day
Panasonic Link2Cell Bluetooth Phone System (Refurbished)

Cell reception inside our rural home is spotty, so we use a (VOIP) landline for a home phone. Our house is 2 stories plus a finished basement, so multiple handsets are required. Going on 10 years and it still works great.
@macromeh

I have 6 handsets, at least 1 in every room. I bought them many years before I heard of Meh, paid around $100. which I thought was a bargain at the time. Let me know if you ever need a replacement handset.
It’s really pretty funny when you think about it! Lol
I have those same phones and they’re great!
I’m not using them right now only because the cost of a landline became ridiculous AND I realized the ONLY people that were calling me were telemarketers! I was actually paying for the telemarketers to call me!
Cuisinart 14 cup food processor methinks. I got one a few years ago in an irk. I use two in tandem when we have pizza parties in the summer because it’s the easiest way to batch out a fast dough.
So many good things
In an Irk
to cut the grass and the battery was
-Multi purpose steam cleaner
-Vacuum sealer (twice)
-robotic vacuum (twice)
-A special Wonder Woman Irk, thanks to KHJ
-A tacklife jump starter- came in super handy a few weeks ago when I tried to start my lawn
Not in an Irk
-Portable power station
-A grabber thing. I’m short, shelves are tall
-phone battery things
-rapid wall charger
-usb charger - I use it when I travel so I can charge my phones and power my little fan for good sleep
-reusable water
-Cusinart ice cream maker
-Ninja stuff
-PASTA
I am sure there is more, just can’t think of anything else right now
@tinamarie1974
Yes, looks like you got lots of good things!
What is reusable water?
@Lynnerizer lol. Reusable water balloons. I used the balloon

@tinamarie1974
And look who missed that, Miss Emoji herself!
Lol

I got those for my grandson, he’s 9, he and his cousins have a blast with them.

Oh yeah, I see it now!
@Lynnerizer.
they are awesome
MEALS! DEALS! EELS! AWESOME!
It will be my luggage, whenever I get it! Wishful thoughts…
My son loves his robot vacuum I received in an irk. And I love my charger that has the attached cables that I bought on meh. It’s very convenient.
Sharper Image by Vornado AXIS 12 Desktop USB Airbar Tower Fan
I have it on my desk at work, and it’s the best USB fan ever.
Ninja foodie. Gets used at least once a day for one function or another.
Weighted blanket.
Life-changing.
Seriously.
I guess I have two other things to say about it:
I LOVE my Bose headphones that came in a special IRK several years ago, and the robo-vac is pretty cool too. The Happi air purifier was/is totally amazing and used every day! But the most random thing that came in a IRK, that I was most surprised by how useful it turned out to be was a hands free phone holder that goes around your neck. I can’t remember what the heck it was called. It was perfect while my hand was recovering from an injury and couldn’t be used. I even searched out a replacement when this one broke after I walked into a door while it was still around my neck. DUH ME…
So many other little things that I can’t even remember right now. Even those Frozen themed gift bags that I thought I’d NEVER use came in pretty handy when I ran out of wrapping paper Christmas eve.

@Lynnerizer it is always the little things!!!
@tinamarie1974
So true! And it’s that way with everything!
@sammydog01 She must have been in Phantom of the Opera, but I don’t remember seeing her. Guess I wasn’t paying attention…
