Remember when the largest company in the world admitted that they were sabotaging you, then abjectly offered a discount on fixing it only to sabotage your attempt to do so, and you were … fine with it?
In some ways it’s nice to hear Apple admit what we have long known, like a partner admitting a worst-kept secret. At least everybody’s finally being honest. On the other hand, it sucks to have a phone that intentionally doesn’t work.
