@ELUNO But does providing your telephone bypass the FCC do-not-call registry? I’m sort of worried that I will be spammed with thousands of calls after typing in my phone number and it being legal for them to call.
@ELUNO Nope, did that. The first thing it does after you open it for the first time is asks for your phone number. Doesn’t display any privacy statements or why they even need that number to begin with.
@djslack No facebook. Currently, no ads or anything either. I hate and avoid all of the social media stuff, but HQ is ok so far. It’s turned into one of the few things everyone in my family does together these days. It’s a few minutes every evening, and more fun than it probably should be…
@Yoda_Daenerys some of us answered the call to participate in this video and in exchange we got a pine tree air freshener to hang on our forum posts to keep January fresh.
@yahsah15 I can get 10 or 11, but unfortunately, I get screwed by the pop culture questions in the middle, so the rest I get right don’t really matter. Q12 is always a random guess question, so I get that one right about a third of the time…
I have played it a few times. The best I have done is 6 right. When I get one wrong, I usually stay and watch and see if I would have gotten the rest of the questions right. I also watch and see how much money I would have won if I would have got all 12 questions right. Tonight it was not very much. Under $10. And if you do win, you have to have at least $20 in winnings to cash it out to your PayPal account. Otherwise, you have to accumulate the $20 to be able to get the money.
@yahsah15 I think it would be cool to win just once. I saw they were giving away $15,000 last Sunday, but I did not get to play. Over $2,000 would be awesome. But I think that one you had to get 15 questions right. They are doing 15 questions for $15,000 again this Sunday, but I don’t think I will be able to play.
My brother is friends with one of HQ’s angel investors. They will definitely add ads and other ways of monetizing their product. Right now, they’re building hype and a user base, so down the road they can insert ads before, between, and after games. That will be around the time I stop playing…
Free?
@RiotDemon Super free. No ads even. (You do have to provide your phone number, that’s what they use instead of creating an account.)

@cengland0 I am not sure. You can probably read their small print. I can say that for now I haven’t received any spam calls since I signed up.
@ELUNO No small print to read. This is the extent of the information provided:
@cengland0 They have a bunch of it in the app itself. I was going to screenshot some of it but it is soooooo long I gave up.
@ELUNO Oh, now that sucks. You have to give them your private information before you can read the fine print to discover what they do with it. FAIL!
@cengland0 You might be able to download the app and then read all of it BEFORE giving them your phone number. But I am not 100% sure.
@ELUNO Nope, did that. The first thing it does after you open it for the first time is asks for your phone number. Doesn’t display any privacy statements or why they even need that number to begin with.
@cengland0 I guess it is time to sue them!
Is this the thing with Scott something or something? If so it was a crossword clue recently, and that is the extent of my knowledge…
I think I looked at it and saw it requires Facebook so I noped the fuck out.

@shahnm I’ll check it out then. Maybe it was the hq clone for Android that required fb.
@djslack what’s this video christmas event thingy? i haven’t been hanging around here much lately.

Best I’ve got is 11 answers right.

@lakertaylor13 last Sunday seven people scored over $2k ea.
I just missed getting $300. A miss is as good as a mile, though.

good news you don’t need $20 to cash out anymore
bad news. if you have under 20 and don’t cash out in 90 days you lose your money

@communist It’s barely impossible to google something without running out of time.
@communist
Four fucking dollarinos!
I knell with honor, good sir!
Now, to catch that TSTST cheater.
How can a game that has no advertisements and is free to play offer $10 and $2500 prizes to people that win? Where do they get that money from?
@cengland0 They say sponsors. Sponsors for what? I have no clue. I have not seen anything during the game.
@cengland0
Which of these was NOT originally a daily deal site?
every week or so there seems like to be a question that looks like a ad
2 weeks ago i saw a question that looked like an ad for coin base
after question 4 or 6 they are testing a 15 second break that looks perfect for an ad
Best I’ve done is answering question 10.

@shahnm That’s what I was suspecting…
'bout to play my first round, I expect to win big!
@Moose I am going to win and I am not sharing the prize with you!
Oof this host is annoying
@Moose Get used to him. I hate when he just keeps talking and talking and talking when I just want to answer some questions!
Stupid Ghee! Nooooooooooooooo!
@ELUNO I give him credit for his ability to keep talking but I also wish he wouldn’t. Also I’m already out. This game sucks and I hate it.
@Moose Nobody answered me and you seem to hate him enough to know his name — is it Scott Something? Need to verify my crossword is correct.
@brhfl Scott Rogowsky.
@mike808 Thank you that confirms my crossword answer.
Just played my 1st game got to question 8
@CaptAmehrican Nice! I think the Ghee one was only the third or fourth one…
@CaptAmehrican Also, I blame you!
Use my referral, mike808. I really need about 11 extra lives. Kthx.
@mike808 You can only use one per game
