A Can-Do Attitude

Sure, we might not be gathering out by the pool or at the beach to crack a few cans and enjoy the sunshine as often these days. But that doesn’t mean there won’t be occasions throughout the fall and winter to gather up some brews and head to a friend’s house for a party or get-together. And if there’s no room in their fridge, you’re gonna want an insulated cooler bag like this one. It keeps stuff cold, has a convenient strap, and also features a pocket for your phone and your wallet. In other words, you can just bring the cooler bag, not the bag and a purse or backpack.

Now, as for what to put in it, that’s up to you. And certainly, if you want to load up on some cold domestics and hard seltzer, be our guest. But just remember, there are a whole bunch of craft breweries all over the world creating some of the most amazingly flavorful ales and lagers out they, and we think they deserve their credit. So here are three exciting craft beers for you to consider for some of that coveted cooler space!

1. The Haze Of Our Lives series from Consortium Brewing

Each hazy IPA in the ‘Haze Of Our Lives’ series uses a simple malt bill to highlight the unique flavor profile of a single hop. Past hop variants include cosmo hops (with notes of orange, pineapple, and a resinous dankness), torque hops (with notes of melon, earl gray, and olive), Indiana Creeper hops (with notes of tomato, corn, and sulfur), Morton’s Fault hops (with notes of strawberries, pretzel, and pickles), tremolo hops (with notes of carnitas, olive oil, and chocolate), and HBC-68913102 hops (with notes of couch, pennies, and The Wire, but only season 2, the really polarizing one based around the docks).

2. Bourbon Barrel Bear-Bull Aged Boar-Bun Stout from Deranged Brewing

First, the brewers make a rich Russian Imperial Stout. Then, they rest it on bao buns stuffed with a sweet and spicy wild boar filling. This is then loaded into a Blanton’s Bourbon Barrel, which is then fed to a bull, which itself is then fed to a bear. The bear is then released back into the wilderness but clipped with a tracker. The bear’s progress is tracked through the forest so they can ensure it doesn’t roam so far. After two years, brewers capture the bear, surgically remove the barrel, and extract the beer within. Then they add coconut for some reason. Finally, they can it. Expect notes of chocolate, vanilla, and caramel from the barrel and gamey meat-forward notes from the pork and the bear’s and bull’s stomach liquids. But mostly, it’ll taste like coconut. Price is roughly $1,500 per can, and can only be purchased by four lucky individuals who win a lottery to attend the release at the taproom in Kodiak, Alaska. 29.5% ABV.

3. The Non-Alcoholic Gluten-Free Citrus Sour from Markson Brewing

Need to take a break from all the high-gravity brews out there? Try this excellent non-alcoholic gluten-free sour! With a crisp lemon and lime flavor, it’s definitely more sweet than sour and packs a lot of flavor for something with a 0.0% abv. How do they do it? Nobody knows. But the brewers really must love Sprite, because they have tons of that stuff delivered every day. Price for a 4-pack is a very affordable $16.99!

Those sound delish, don’t they? So pick up them up at your local bottle shop so they’re ready to load into your Coho Can Cooler when it arrives!
