Have you ever bought anything that you later saw on meh, morning save or side deal?
3And could see why the item ended up on meh? I bought a titanium cutting board off of Amazon after seeing it advertised on CBS deals. Saw it later on morning save. Wasn’t wowed by it primarily because the other side which was a not titamium but a regular cutting board material showed knife cuts when I cut fruit on it.
About the same price I paid and could see why it was dumped to sell on meh.

Holy shit! What a terrible idea. I would have to believe that would just totally mess up a well-honed blade.
@chienfou not only would you be safe from bacteria, but also all those pesky sharp knife edges.
@djslack
Exactly!
As a matter of fact, I already had a drawer full of this 'thon’s first item, bought elsewhere. If there were any available in XL, I’d grab a few extras.
BlendJet and Eneloop batteries. I could see why the BlendJet was offered here. It was a piece of crap. The Eneloops however turned out to be a good deal and I’m still using them. It’s all about balance – win some, lose some.
@heartny The BlendJet I got a month or so ago has been great! I think they got better.
@Fuzzalini is yours a Blendjet 2: Electric Boogaloo?
Though if the first one was crap, I question their commitment to the name versus just naming it something different.
@djslack Yes, it’s a BlendJet 2, not necessarily the boogaloo model.
. I did hear that they recalled a bunch of them between 2022 and 2023. But the new ones seem very good, the battery lasts a long time and it does a good job of whipping things up.
I’m sure it’s happened before, but my most recent example just happened within a span of a couple of days. I bought a kuhn rikon pull chop and used it last week for making a super fast salsa ranchera. I thought it kicked ass and then saw them on morningsave this week. At 2 for $10 I now have backups on the way.
I also quickly found out the blades are incredibly sharp while washing it the first time. If I wanted to
make them saferfuck them up I could try to chop something on a titanium cutting board.@djslack
Also…exactly!
@djslack
You must have taken a break from meh or not been paying attention bc those things have been in mehratons for a while now.
@Star2236 I’m not paying much attention most of the time
and it’s true I’m not around as much as I used to be. I had seen them before but a few circumstances arose that made me notice them now:
The pull chop was a small and quick solution that it turned out I liked a lot. The big food processor would have been overkill, and taken longer to clean than it did to make the salsa honestly.
And the tacos were amazing too!
@djslack @Star2236 Aaaaand - they’re back! 2 for $8, practically free!

@Kyeh @Star2236 dang, that’s more than I paid and mine aren’t here yet!
@djslack @Star2236 Bummer!
@carl669 @djslack
What do you use the small chopper for that you would a big food processor?
@Star2236 I wanted to use it for said salsa, but it would have been completely overkill
Trackr tags, and yes I ABSOLUTELY knew why they ended up here.
I bought a meh shirt. From meh.
I see they are selling a meh shirt.
Also an irk.
Not sure I’m doing this correctly…
I used to do quite a bit of Kickstarter. And a lot of those ended up on Meh.
I stopped after getting screwed over once too often, when someone put forth an artist’s design as the proven product, then changed everything to turn it into a fleecing machine, then didn’t even deliver that. Bonaverde, I’m pointing at you:
@brainmist oof, thanks for reminding me. 2 of my first 3 Kickstarter pledges were to a flop and an outright scam. Cobblebot was a flop that overpromised and under delivered, though I did get a big box of parts that never became a 3D printer. ZANO took my money completely and I got fuck-all but a letter from a British barrister about the company being bankrupt.
Later on I apparently put in sixty bucks to get some fly-by-night wine site off the ground, and that one’s still kicking. Things started looking up from there.
@djslack
ISWYDT
cheers
@brainmist @djslack yes I have been burned by Kickstarter & Indiegogo a few times, it cost me a couple $100. The person never admitted yes I promised way too much & could never deliver. Yes one was to be a 3d printer, another an electronic kit with many components. Neither delivered.
Now if I see something Kool & it is over $25, I have to pass on it! Yes I know most people are not out to shaft ya, they have a kool idea & want to bring it to life.
I don’t do indiegogo any more, but I get a lot 3d printer patterns so I can print some really Kool stuff. Still the$25 rule still stands
They all say buyer beware, Crowdsourcing is not a store. It’s a concept of an idea, waiting to be born. Only invest as much as you can lose!
@brainmist @djslack @mycya4me
I did kickstarter once and ended up with a beautiful handmade leather belt that was way too small for me. The guy never responded to questions and I was confused about how to measure and I measured wrong (he explained way different than the internet did). I assume I’m not the only one that ended up with a child size belt.
@brainmist @djslack @Star2236
Yes I have received a number a good things, A great piece of luggage, It has Huge wheels & a lot of space inside, then the company did another promotion that I also got, then they started having issues. they have been bought out, the new company well their items are higher than I wanted to spend & I really did not need more luggage, or the like!
But there was a vendor that was trying to produce Bone conductive head phones (before it was a thing)I don’t think they copyrighted it, & Others pop-up, all they produced was a sports version & ran out of money before they could produced the one the promised!
