So, these things talk a big game. They make it sound as though they’re entirely different from other pot holders. Like you’re really going to notice a difference between these and whatever cute-patterned alternative you got as a housewarming gift.

“Our high-quality pot holder is heat-resistant - so however hot the kitchen, you can keep your cool,” they say.

“Managing hot, heavy casserole dishes has never been easier due to the top-notch heat insulation effect,” they say.

And let me tell you, as someone who owns some of these (or if not these, then something very very like these), they’re right. All the hyperbole, all the big talk, it’s all true. Or maybe even a bit of an undersell.

Seriously, buy them. Buy a lot of them. Buy some for your parents. Buy some for your in-laws. Your brothers. Your sisters. Your aunts. Your uncles. Cousins. Former roommates. You name it.

And not because it’s the nice thing to do, mind you. No. The people I just listed? They’re all the people who might ask you to help in the kitchen. And if you get used to working with these premium, super heat-resistant pot holders, it can be rough to slum it with basic-ass cloth ones.

And I say this from experience, by the way. On multiple occasions, I’ve visited family and volunteered to make dinner only to PUT MY LIFE ON THE LINE by pulling a hot pan out of the oven with what amounts to little more than a dish towel.

Okay, fine. Maybe I didn’t put my life on the line. Maybe what I did was put the comfort of my soft, white-collar palms on the line. But still. Point stands. It would’ve been better if I’d had better pot holders. Like these.

And it’ll be better for you too, when you get them. So get them already. Trust me. They work. Like, really really well.
