Rehydration

Dehydration sounds serious.

Now, by phrasing it that way–that it sounds serious–we don’t mean to imply that it’s not actually serious. It is! Very, very serious! Or, it can be. Our point here is that when you think of dehydration, you think of the character from cartoons or movies, crawling across the desert with a big beard and tattered clothes looking for any water source he can find. Or the marathoner teetering along the course. Or even just the blinding headache the morning after too many drinks and not enough water in between.

But dehydration comes in all shapes and sizes.

Like, maybe you’re just not feeling great after having a bit of a cry session. Or maybe you got up early and went for a pre-work jog, then had only enough time to take a quick shower and gulp down a cup of coffee before heading to the office, and now it’s 10:30, and you’re a little woozy. Or you had some yard work to do in the heat of summer. Or, hell, you’re just having one of those days where it gets to be 2:30 and you’re like, I’m feeling a little thirsty, and then you realize that, somehow, this will be your second glass of water of the day? How did that even happen?!

In none of these cases will you rush to the emergency room to get an IV infusion of electrolytes and vitamins.

But just because there’s no emergency doesn’t change the facts. You’re feeling crummy.

Which is why it might not be a bad idea to have some of these electrolyte and vitamin packets around, to mix up and drink when you need a bit of a hydration boost beyond what comes out of the tap. And yes, they are best by January 2025, but we’re not too worried about them turning to dust on February 1st. (Get it? Because they already are dust.) And yes, we know the taste might make this something to choke down rather than sip at your leisure. (Opinions vary.) But, hey, cough syrup doesn’t taste too great either, but it could make you feel a little better. Same thing with this stuff.

So go ahead and buy some. They might just help you fight off a headache one of these days.
