Energy When You Need It

Let’s just be real here: “Honey Stinger Nut Seed” is an unfortunate series of words to encounter. And yet, you gotta admit, these things look intriguing.

Now, if your question is, “But, like, what even are they?” the simple answer is they’re protein bars. More specifically, they’re gluten-free, non-GMO protein bars with a nut butter core, that’s covered in caramel and then rolled in seeds. Here, this little graphic gives you a decent idea of what you might find were you to bite into one:

Generally, protein bars are associated with serious athletes. But, according to Honey Stinger, anyone can enjoy them:

We’re used by over 600 pro teams and collegiate programs along with countless athletes. But our products are great for anyone who is active, or who needs a boost of on-the-go energy!

And I gotta say, I agree. Personally, I like to have some protein treats around for breakfast the day after a hefty dinner. Like, when I eat a chimichanga. And a few baskets of chips and salsa. And I opt for some guac, because hey, let’s party, right? And then I wash it all down with a margarita that’s the size of a birdbath.

The next day, I want to jog it off. And yet, I’m faced with a conundrum: do I eat a real, hefty breakfast to energize and risk both this and the previous night’s indulgences leaving me feeling too rough to run? Or do I just drink coffee and skip breakfast altogether, which might end with me feeling jittery yet weak and unwell after more than a mile?

The answer, in my experience, is to split the difference: eat something that’s not too big, yet LOADED with protein, so I have fuel to burn out there without feeling bloated and uncomfortable. Like one of these bars.

Anyway, that’s what I would use these for. How about you? When do you eat protein bars? Let us know in the comments!

Or just buy the bars. That’s cool too.
