The important thing about a keyboard is the keyboard.

We’re sorry, Belkin QODE. We were weak. We were confused. We were stupid. For a moment, we forgot you were our favorite Bluetooth-keyboard-case-we-have-to-cut-the-case-flap-off-of. We forgot the reliable, responsive typing we’d shared together. We flirted with another.

Its name was Justin. It wasn’t that we thought it was sexier or better looking. It just, well… it had this battery. We admit it, we were curious. A keyboard and a charger, all in one? It seemed like an exciting idea at the time.

It didn’t take long for the excitement to wear off. Justin’s keyboard was awful. Hard to get the pairing to work. Hard to type with. An annoying flap that gets in the way of the tablet. And some of them were just broken.

We felt so cheap. So sleazy. How could we have forgotten? The thing that really matters in a keyboard case is a good keyboard. We had that. And now, like fools, in a moment of stupidity, we might have lost it.

We understand if you hate us, Belkin QODE. But please don’t let one idiotic mistake jeopardize everything we have together. We couldn’t go on living if we knew we could never touch you again, never let our fingers dance briskly across your adequately sized keys. We promise, we’ll never see Justin again.
