Kinda like a fuku... (maybe)
8Daily Steals has a mystery box for sale today for $15 (with free shipping) today in case anyone is interested. It costs more than the Meh fuku, but it's the same as the BOC from Woot (if you factor in shipping). And they claim the value of the contents will be about $50 or possibly more.
Has anyone ever gotten a mystery box from Daily Steals?

DailySteals is the shittiest company ever. They hire snide assholes to cover the fact they really are desperate to gargle massive amounts of excrement.
@er1c I can't tell if you simply consider this an opportunity to showcase your ability to spew verbal bile. They have some name brand products on the site. Is their customer service deplorable? Do they ship dollar store items in their Mystery Boxes? Do you have personal experience with Daily Steals?
@glindagw I have ordered 5-6 items from dailysteals, all have been pristine and exactly as advertised. 2 of those items have been mystery boxes. The first box came with alot of decent stuff, probably at least half of which I will actually use. The second was less stellar, most of that ones contents I will either give away or save for the next fuku exchange.
@Saffer49 Thanks for the feedback. I'm glad that @christinerenee posted this. I'm a sucker for a mystery box. The model is weekends only, I can't imagine what that means to them.
Woot boc is now $5 plus $5 shipping. Used to be $3 + $5.
@medz I thought it got raised to $10 + shipping. My mistake.
@christinerenee
@medz OK, OK. You don't have to rub it in. :P
@medz the greatest skit in the history of TV
Daily Steals is kinda shit. I bought one but I ended up cancelling it because they don't ship it for weeks after you actually buy it.
@xEBRONx Thanks. I haven't tried ordering from them before. I appreciate the usable information.
I'm fairly certain I bought a box from them years ago and was happy. If this was from them, I got a nice set of knives and block that I still use today. I never dealt with their customer service, but I do remember shipping being slow.
Thank you for sharing, @christinerenee. Some of us appreciate your effort.
My personal experiences with Daily Steals have been pretty consistent. Bought a wide variety of objects in different capacities (standard order, steal-a-thon, mystery box) and I've always received my order as promised. Sure, sometimes it took a while, 4 weeks at one point during the holidays, but in the end I got what I ordered. I'm a sucker for mystery boxes and as long as they keep providing me with somewhat reasonable items I'll keep buying.
I ordered one, will report back here when it arrives sometime next year.
I have purchased a few things from DailySteals before, and haven't had a problem.. I think I bought 2 or maybe 3 things.. So I googled their mystery boxes, and found some videos on youtube.. Seems like they at least have a chance of being decent.. So I went ahead and got one. If I remember, I'll post the results.
@kadagan Me too- I'll show you mine if you show me yours.
@sammydog01 not great, but not too bad.. 2 sets of memory foam insoles, a pretty nice phone arm band, and a "slimming massager", which looks like a tens stimulator
@kadagan Same exact thing here- I will probably use the insoles, so it's not a total loss
A lot of folks here have bought stuff from DS both through the regular site and through the Rushes. I've bought more from them in the last few months than I have from Meh, and I haven't had any trouble, including during the Christmas push. (Meanwhile, Meh sells stuff it doesn't even have in the warehouse, and let's count the times it's shipped buyers the wrong product.) If you search Google for mentions of the Daily Steals mystery box here, you'll find some happy people and some unhappy people, so that's probably about par... maybe not as good as most fukubukuros, maybe a little better than most bags of crap.
I bought a mystery box last year and I it was $10. Got random stuff that they sold on their site. Eddie Bauer wallet, cheap sunglasses, some sticky pad that you put on your dashboard to keep things on, some laptop security item that locks your laptop when you walk away, and a few other items. I didn't need anything from it and I asked if I could return it and they said yes. Ended up getting a 90% refund from them. It's definitely better than my last BOC that I got from Woot. That BOC was barely worth the $10 I paid for it.
Bought two things from DS - one was via a 'Rush' win. Very happy with both items.
@ilovereality what did you win in the rush!?
I did buy once, a loooooong time ago. I was more disappointed in it than I ever have been with any BOC. Of course, Woot built up quite a lot of Karma with me on one particular BOC.
Only thing I ever bought there was 2x sheet sets, they sent one in the wrong color, and CS wanted me to pay shipping to send it back for the refund. I ended up just keeping it, because it wasn't worth my effort and I wasn't that obsessed with my color choices for that room anyway.
Daily steals: pair of socks for $20, regular price $50? Vaporizer for $120, regular price $300? Foam shoe inserts for $6, regular price $50?
Doesn't look like they have very good deals; I think I'll just stay....here. Meh.
Here is a link to my post last time they had a mystery box, and at the bottom is my post showing what I got. After this 1 there was another mystery box that I got a lot more junk and less useful stuff, but that's the risk you take with mystery boxes!

I bought one today, but I'm leery about buying anything else from them. There were a few people complaining on their Facebook page about the iPad sale saying the units were not new as promised (they had been registered previously). Not sure if that was an issue with their supplier but it really made me not want to take a chance.
@ABitterWoman Big difference between an iPad and a $15 mystery bag- I'm sure you'd feel a lot more...bitter if you got a used iPad than if the mystery bag wasn't terribly good.
@dashcloud Most definitely. I've never been disappointed with a mystery bag from anywhere, just because I always set my expectations low and love surprises.
My experience with dailysteals.com:
I heard about them from the mediocre forum about their rush experiments. I started joining rushes in early December. I won a rush on Dec 8th (minor one) - $30 Apple EarPods for $5. During my 10 minutes to claim the prize, I somehow entered two orders. I emailed them explaining what had happened and that I’d be happy with just the one or I’d gladly pay for both. I never got a response, but I got both EarPods on Dec 30th. I have a picture for proof – which I’ll upload if anybody wishes. Still happy with the rush win, I bought a water proof case for an iphone5 for $5 during one of the two (all that I know of) steal-a-thons so far – bought this on December 10th and got it on December 16th. On Jan 17th I bought a mystery box for $20 (had a ‘this is for the home’ description) - I received it on Jan 23rd and the contents were:
Mickey Mouse Memory Foam Bath mat
Skullcandy Full Metal Jacket earphones for iphone
30SecondSmile rechargeable batteries (2) with the wall plug in
2 packs Memory Foam heal cushions
USB Micro charging cable with wall plug in
Leather Wallet
19” expandable metal baton
8 piece Radio Shack watch repair kit
Antec Spot Cool 100 CPU Fan
Electric Slimming Massage unit
I think I got my money’s worth. I have no issues with them and I’ve bought the $15 mystery box.
@djames85 Is an "Electric Slimming Massage Unit" a Tens unit?
@glindagw Not sure what you mean - I can provide a pic if you'd like - when I searched online for it, most of the sites where chinese
@glindagw on their site, i think it's this one - r=1">https://www.dailysteals.com/p/46404/Ultimate-Physical-Massager?_r=1
@djames85 Yeah, I didn't find a lot when I searched for it. I was just curious. The name makes me think of the old school vibrating belt machines.
I took a stab at this, big disappointment. I got 2 pairs of memory insoles($3 each on their site) The Ultimate massager ($10 on their site) a generic usb ac adapter($1 at dollar store) and a belkin arm band for cell phone(unknown$) Total I say I got $20 worth of stuff for $15. Definitely NOT $50 dollars worth of stuff which is how it was advertised. But oh well.
@derek17j I just received my $15 mystery box as well - I received the EXACT same contents you posted.
@derek17j thanks for the reveal. I was tempted but now I know to stick with racking up the loss credits for RUSH sales.
@derek17j OMG worse than I thought. I looked on their website for the ultimate massager expecting a knock-off Hitachi Magic Wand not something that makes healing crystals look good.
@derek17j I got the same things except no USB adapter..
@derek17j i got the exact same junk...
@derek17j myself and a coworker both bit...got the same junk. That is it for DS in my opinion.
Turns out I did get the USB power adapter, it was hidden in the bottom of the bag and I almost threw it away. Still I think I mostly lost out on this one..
I'm glad I didn't bite - the last one I received from them was horrible as well.
So mine showed up... Very quickly I might add... It was 2 memory foam insoles (for up to size 11 mens... why so SMALL) a "weight loss" tense unit, a knock off apple iPhone power block not sure on the $50 price tag...all of it is pretty much shit... May end up in the fuku exchange.
If I bought one of those, I would have to create twitter and other social media accounts so I could tag pictures what #dailysteals says is worth at least $50 according to their website. Even if you wanted everything in the box, it sounds like you could get all of that at the dollar store for less than $15, never mind $50.
Mine came in today. Same crap as everyone else. 2 insoles, the Belkin armband, weird massage apparatus, and USB power block. No way this is worth "at least $50".
Did everyone (including me) get the same thing? Insoles, armband, massager and power block? I don't think I've seen anyone yet say anything different.
Yep. Same as I.
