What Cheerson taught us. And you.

You live and learn. And you buy stuff and learn. When our writer @JasonToon was a kid in the '80s and got his first cassette player, he thought you had to rewind each side after you listened to it, then rewind the other side before you could listen to it. He killed a lot of batteries in those first naive months.

If you bought the Cheerson CX-10 Mini Quadcopter from us before, what have you learned? What do you feel smart for figuring out, or stupid for not figuring out? Get in our community and let us know how these tiny, whirring little bastards are treating you.

Personally, as we’ve also learned from having multiple children, one is fun, but having two of these copters are where things really get wild. Racing and dueling and formation moves and the occasional airborne collision - that’s where the thrills are. So we’re not even letting you buy one this time.

We also find that, despite its official designation as an indoor toy, the Cheerson CX-10 is way more fun outside. Its longer-distance radio-frequency (RF) control can really shine in comparison to cheapo, short-range infrared (IR) copters. Because we are essentially children, we like to let it soar higher and higher until it’s out of range and crashes unharmed into the soft grass below. That’s a lot more possible in the backyard than the living room. Unfortunately, we can’t sell you a backyard.
