What bad decisions have you made lately?
10Over the weekend I chopped off all of my hair. I meant to go shoulder-length but I.. I kept having to even in out, and, well.. now I look like fat Arya Stark. :| On the bright side, I will use 80% less shampoo, my hair was down to my butt before.

@HELLOALICE I don't know about you, but almost every time I drastically cut my hair, I end up crying a little because of the newness/stress. I can't handle change very well.
Oh my goodness. You went from butt-length hair to above the shoulder??? You are braver than I! I have had hair lengths at both ends of the spectrum, but I went shorter a little more gradually. I'm currently in a grow-out stage and have the slowest growing hair in the world.
To answer your question...um, let my husband buy a honey badger gun receiver at the beginning of the pay period instead of convincing him to wait until next week. And now, I have no money for Meh purchases (or milk).

@PurplePawprints And yeah. Last time I cut my hair properly was 2011, and then a hard trim over the summer of 2014. So about 3 years of growth. WHY DID I DO IT???

@PurplePawprints Don't worry, I can vouch for your husband on this. That receiver was an investment in the future! Especially if he's building and actual Honey Badger :D
@Chops I don't know about an investment, since I'm pretty sure once he decides what he wants to build, he'll have spent more to finish it than what we spent buying any of our other guns outright. However, he'll be happy, and I'll still be the "best wife ever" so I guess that's a type of investment into the future.
@PurplePawprints Oh my gosh that can be a hard change. Not to mention your head feels all weird and light at first. And hair no longer stays out of the way of the drinking fountain (well that is if you didn't cut it way short). I hope in the end you decide you like it.
I chopped off butt length hair (to shoulder length) after a billion years once too and at the first cut I told the guy "I've changed my mind can we glue it back?". He was not amused.
@Kidsandliz I didn't cut my hair, Alice did. My hair has finally reached my shoulders again after my Ramona Flowers cut a couple years ago. But yeah, it is hard getting used to a change that drastic.

Not me, but my ex girlfriend quit her 65k a year job after an argument with her boss. After 2 months of searching and spending all her savings, she finally got a job but now earns 35k.
@derek17j If the argument was over something important to the job, it may have been a wise decision. I'll take good working relationships over income as a bigger factor in quality of life in that case. (With the major caveats of being in a field where expected earnings cover middle class expenses and any outstanding debt).
@trisk With a mortgage and other expenses you really need to step back and be sure before acting. I told her to keep the job, avoid the boss as much as possible, and search for a new job on off days.

@trisk I agree with you, but it would have been much wiser to wait until there's another job lined up, or at the very least not quit in a huff after an argument.
@derek17j I think that's great solid advice, but if you told her that AFTER she had already quit...bad decision...lol...You should have said, Do I need to go beat him up...
@mehbee She called me before she quit. I tried to talk her out of it but she was sure that she could step right into another job.
@derek17j Well then, that was good solid advice. It's what I would have wanted to hear before giving up 65,000 a year! It's too bad the situation had gotten so bad at her job that she had to give it up. My husband would have just said..If you quit, what are you going to pay for your Meh purchases with? That would have fixed the situation right there!
@trisk people usually don't quit jobs, they quit bosses. I knew someone who quit his job as a teacher one year short of pension eligibility. He just couldn't tough it out with the management any more.
The other day, I bought something from Meh. And the day before that, too.
I volunteered to learn how to do a new thing at work. it turns out that this thing is 10349301945 times more complicated than it should be. hooray knowledge!
I completely reworked a short-film script that I have been working on for months, changing it's central theme and making it about more than just the story being told. It left me an emotional puddle and struggling to figure out how I'm going to make it.

@ChadP I dunno, I just feel it's a stretch to call Enema Party IV: Everybody's Squirtin' For The Weekend a "short film" just because it isn't a full 4 hours like the 3rd one was. Just add an overture and an intermission sequence if you need to pad it out. Or have the characters discuss bus schedules in detail for awhile.

I spent $325 on an auction bid for a pallet of electronics with a 3 word description of "HP Talking Tablets". I haven't yet picked them up but I am anticipating that it was a poor choice which I will regret.
@tightwad I have an addiction to "mystery" items. Not exactly the same thing but if it has mystery in it, box, item, bag...Imma gonna buy it! I have never done an auction like this but it sounds cool, and like something my wallet doesn't want me to get into..lol
@mehbee I have the same problem obviously. I am hoping they have some value...maybe I can put a BuiltNY case on them and recoup a bit of cash...

@dashcloud @mehbee Well I picked up my Mystery Pallet today. The "Talking Tablets" are actually "Talking Tactile Tablet 2" and retail for $800. As they are made for the blind it is rather hard to find a market for them from what I have been able to discover...mostly schools etc. In addition to the TTTs there are also some HP IPAQ HX2490c devices that appear to be new or hardly used. I also have 7 projectors (betting bad bulbs at least), a dozen or more bad projector bulbs (why keep them?), one overhead projector (travel style, folds up), new Polaroid film (really?), an electric hole punch that weighs a ton, a manual hole punch with adjustable hole spacing, a 5 disc DVD changer, a DVD player (no HDMI), a big de-humidifier, a giant Printer...and about a zillion other things I can't yet identify.
@tightwad I'll gladly take the polaroid film off of you...

I shaved my facial hair for the first time in ever. (I mean, I keep it neat, but I'd never just removed it all before.) It was for oral surgery, on the advice of the oral surgeon, but it turned out not to really be necessary, and it turns out I look really, really shitty without it. (It's mostly back now, fortunately.)

@sligett I used to wear socks with sandals all the time... I will say that there is a contest by one of the radio stations locally... where they want you to share your flipflop at work pics.... My wife's old office won because her boss did the sock flop.

Time will tell if it's a bad decision, but I quit my job this month without knowing what I want to do next. Other than not this. I gave sufficient notice for transition and didn't burn any bridges, so at least there's that.

I got Little Caesar's for dinner the other day.
@jqubed The last time I ate at Little Caeser's I got what was either food poisoning or a bad stomach bug. It's put me off pizza almost entirely.

@ABitterWoman We must be really lucky over here then as we get their pizza fairly regularly, mostly because at $5 and no wait time, it's very tasty. Aldi has a killer frozen pizza selection that we get if we need something bigger or not plain/pepperoni.
@dashcloud Our local Little Ceasar's just has this vibe of, "We really don't care." Almost the entire staff was on a smoke break last time my husband went there. I'm not really picky but that place gives me the creeps :\

I also cut my hair, though I think I might have had better results I took off about 4-6 inches. I used the ponytail technique with a friend. look pretty even I think and even enough that in a month you'd never know.
A few months ago, I bought 3,300 Guitar Hero dual gig bags at auction for $100. Not a huge mistake, but I was new to freight shipping and paid $900. And now I realize now matter how cheap they are, no one wants any. So I have five or six (I forget) pallets just sitting around, mocking me.
I can only hope when the new game comes out, I can sell a few of the bags. Or maybe Meh is looking for a real Meh product on the cheap. Would work great as a Fuku bag. ;)

@tightwad That was exactly what I thought! They are nice bags. The main issue is they weigh just over a pound each so no first class shipping. I could sell for a buck each and make a tidy profit buuuuut no one wants to pay a buck plus $5-7 shipping and I don't blame them.
