I do want to add that the items that only have a 20% discount or so really never interest me, no matter how cool the item might be. With that kind of margin, I’d generally just go ahead and buy it at a ‘normal’ place.

these write ups introduced me to “new” old bands that I had missed the first time around and let me discover some great music. Some of which I was able to share with people I knew would love it.
there is a great pleasure in handing somebody a 3 disc set of “Any Trouble” and telling them “this might be the best band you never heard of”.
and more pleasure still when it turns out they agree.

For other products, I support a continued mix of unique items and deeply discounted USEFUL items. In addition to 2 for Tuesdays, 50% Fridays would be cool where the items are 50% off retail.
I’d like to see better more ROI on the VMP with more exclusive shit. Shipping is an awesome benefit, but there are definitely times where I go a couple months between purchases and I’m not going to purchase just to recognize the benefit.

Random things that would be able to be gifted to people that I always forget to buy for—for Christmas/teacher appreciation-so in November a 6 pack of tumblers or bags that say “1 teacher” BOOM, gifts for kids’ teachers done, thanks Meh. I’m more likely to impulse buy toys if they’re good quality. The RC cars on offer didn’t have rechargable batteries. The wood toys were straight out of the 50s. Those are the two i can think of off the top of my head.
It’s hard to say what I’d buy for myself. When i see things I like, i buy them right away. But it’s hard to predict what will strike my fancy.
