@cinoclav I just looked it up. January of 2015: 12 Pack of Jack Links Original Beef Steak - A Great Healthy Snack! UNLIMITED FREE SHIPPING!
There was a further discount for 10 or more. I foolishly took advantage of the discount. I was only a little surprised how difficult it was to give away about 80 Jack Links jerky sticks. In the end I wound up dropping about 5 dozens at a homeless shelter/food bank.
I also would love to see Apple items, if only to tweak all the rabid anti-Applehead out there
It would actually be interesting to see if any video game stuff would work. I know it gets hard because much of it is so platform-specific, but I do have to wonder how a PS4 item (hardware or software) would do. (Or Xbox, etc.)
I do want to add that the items that only have a 20% discount or so really never interest me, no matter how cool the item might be. With that kind of margin, I’d generally just go ahead and buy it at a ‘normal’ place.
So, what @katbyter said… crazy huge discounts will (almost) always make me buy, no matter how stupid the item is
More Hyram, please.
And Rad Food Hacks.
And electronics and $5 stuff.
Actually, I don’t need anything. Well, anything except this ashtray… And this paddle game. - The ashtray and the paddle game and that’s all I need… And this remote control. - The ashtray, the paddle game, and the remote control, and that’s all I need… And these matches.
We all want to see crazy good deals on unique products. But I truly miss the daily videos. More Irk, more Glen, more Hank, more Hyram, just more of @matthew’s craziness. Hell, I’ll even take more Chinface. But whatever you do, never, ever bring back Totally Not Rigged Games of Chance.
I’d like more of the write-ups that had references to bands/songs/music genres that related (tangentially, I suppose) to the product.
If I remember, the guy who did them moved to somewhere in Asia, which is unfortunate for me, but great for him.
these write ups introduced me to “new” old bands that I had missed the first time around and let me discover some great music. Some of which I was able to share with people I knew would love it.
there is a great pleasure in handing somebody a 3 disc set of “Any Trouble” and telling them “this might be the best band you never heard of”.
and more pleasure still when it turns out they agree.
@ekw - Yes, this!
You are referring to the awesome @JasonToon who moved to Australia. He submitted a couple of entertaining threads about his transition, would love to see more.
And the music, of course.
@JasonToon@kdemo that’s right!
I apologize for not getting the name. I’m pretty bad w/ that IRL, and online is worse, as it is hard for me to anchor the name.
I miss them because they were not tied to a genre (overall, that is, an individual post would be).
you never knew what you’d discover.
808 stuff, punk/new wave, guitar, covers . . .
there was always “new” things to discover, even if it was a guitar player from 60 years ago.
Yes, I want to buy an iguana, or parakeet online. Maybe an axolotl or baby turtle too. Just think, meh can corner the market in online live animal sales! I can’t wait until they have a shipment of rare, endangered snow leopards, I’d get 3!.
For the meh tshirts, I would strongly prefer more editions with the “m” logo on the front chest. “meh.com” can go on the bottom hem or the top of the back or even the sleeve, but I don’t wear my “meh.com” tshirts in public.
For other products, I support a continued mix of unique items and deeply discounted USEFUL items. In addition to 2 for Tuesdays, 50% Fridays would be cool where the items are 50% off retail.
I’d like to see better more ROI on the VMP with more exclusive shit. Shipping is an awesome benefit, but there are definitely times where I go a couple months between purchases and I’m not going to purchase just to recognize the benefit.
LS shirts, useful things that we can buy in bulk—sponges, trash bags, razors, hand soap. Random things that would be able to be gifted to people that I always forget to buy for—for Christmas/teacher appreciation-so in November a 6 pack of tumblers or bags that say “1 teacher” BOOM, gifts for kids’ teachers done, thanks Meh. How about a 50 pack of bubble wands? A box of blind bags? Wow-Meh, you did it again, thanks for looking out, goody bags for bday parties are now completed.
@clusch More likely on Meh is a set of 6 mugs that are sequentially numbered, “1 Teacher” through “6 Teacher”. Your kid will have seven teachers, you’ll be left to sort out that awkward, and they will be sold in June just after school lets out.
And you will like it. That’s just the way it is with closeouts.
I’m more likely to impulse buy toys if they’re good quality. The RC cars on offer didn’t have rechargable batteries. The wood toys were straight out of the 50s. Those are the two i can think of off the top of my head.
It’s hard to say what I’d buy for myself. When i see things I like, i buy them right away. But it’s hard to predict what will strike my fancy.
