Half A Year Of Meh: Lies, Damned Lies, and Statistics
29We just passed 6 months since we started this experiment up, so I thought I’d check in with a few stats.
We got our 170,000th member today. That’s just the size of some piddly city like Fort Lauderdale (sorry Fort Lauderdalians), but, comparing it to this blog post written 9 years ago by some really smart dude, it took Woot over a year to get to 150,000 members, so we’re growing more than twice as fast as those early days. Before you know it, we’re going to be a Toledo, or even Wichita!
Who are you guys? Well, last time I did this I got stats for usernames that had the word Fred, Geek or Poop in them (189, 163, and 37, respectively) so I figured I’d run the same stats - Fred: 126, Geek: 126, Poop: 52. Analysis? You’ve all gotten a little less geeky and a little more poopy. Oh, and in the last 10 years I guess a third of the Freds have died off. RIP Freds.
It’s no surprise to any regulars that after the US, South Korea brings in most of our visitors, but what country brings the next most people in our list of Countries We Don’t Ship To? Canada, the United Kingdom, and Australia. Given the prevalence of English-speakers there, I'd like to think they come for the writing. After that is Germany, where they really really love ecommerce experiments. Last on our list, we've got 11 countries who brought 1 visitor apiece. Hi Cuban visitor!
As you might’ve gathered from our home page stats, about 37% of our visits are mobile. 41% of those are iPhone, 15% are iPad, and then there’s a long loooong tail of Android devices - 551 Samsung devices alone.
By far and away, most of you get here just directly - typing in Meh, clicking a bookmark, or setting us as your home page (do people do that?). The next big bucket is google, but almost all of those are searches for Meh. Good thing we got a short name - imagine all the wasted keystrokes if you were having to type in generallyapathetic.com every day.
Anyway, while it’s always fun to dig into the visitor numbers, what’s more fun is actually chatting with you all and figure out who you are and how you got here. So, we’ve been here for six months, how long have you been here? And how’d you hear about us?

How many cowboys? That's the only value that really matters.
GenerallyApathetic.com is a great site name. Maybe aquire it and redirect it?
BTW, I got here in the first wave. Labrat #333. I think someone had mentioned on deals.woot that @snapster was doing a new thing, so I signed up immediately. Later, I got a gift card and I had honestly forgotten about the entire ordeal. I genuinely thought it was some sort of scam, but I couldn't understand how on Earth it would work in favor of the other party.
@capguncowboy How do you find out your lab rat number? Or is that only for those who kickstarted? I only found out about the site on day one.
@curtise they sent you an email when you first signed up.
@capguncowboy Seems like generallyapathetic.com is already exactly what it says on the tin.
@Ignorant I'm not seeing it. I looked for mediocre and meh and don't see anything in the earliest emails I have that looks like a rat number. I just know I've been mediocre for 322 days. WTF?
@capguncowboy I just purchased the domain. Not sure what to do with it, so I forwarded it to Too Many Cooks for now. Anyone have better ideas? Someone want to create a mirrored version of Meh.com?
@joelmw I looked back and I guess it wasn't right when I signed up, but for sure the #Seligman email has it listed.
Email subject was:
Our first experiment, of sorts...
@Ignorant Yeah, I think I was too late for #Seligman, or I overlooked it.
@Ignorant It looks like I was definitely onboard after Seligman.
Fearless Leader Rat #163 checking in ... are we posting these relics of the past again? :) Maybe this time I'll be a charter member! @woot I vote for Too many Cooks!
@opello Good news, it is still Too Many Cooks. I may try to tinker around and make a page with Too Many Cooks embedded and some other random stuff on it.
I am Fearless Leader Rat #415. Thanks for reminding me. I've also been mediocre for 493 days.
^ Peep the 'K' badge, yo. I've been at meh.com since the beginning! Never missed a 'meh' click. I've only been mediocre for only 490 days though. I was late to the party in that regard. I'm sure I heard about mediocre from some woot folks in the forums there or that site that let you play music with friends... like plug.dj, but not... it's closed now... I don't know. It's been a great ride. I need to pull together my own stats to figure out if I'm actually saving money buying from meh (opposed to other sites), or if I just wasting even more money...
@medz Come to the Suboptimal Music room on Plug and join us once more! http://plug.dj/brews
Interesting that this is posted today. This morning I checked my Meh stats regarding purchases. I've placed 45 orders and spent $429, not including VMP charges. My husband also orders stuff, and often the same shit I just ordered.
As to how I got here; I followed the "cool kids" from Woot to Mediocre then just went along with the crowd.
Meh is my home page.......I need to get a life.
Not going to lie, I did click the link ( generallyapathetic.com) just in case it was to a new experiment that I needed to get in on.
@wisenekt Yep. Me too.
I heard about mediocre from smiling jack and pooflady but had other shit going on at the time that prevented me from joining. But...meh got my kickstarter cherry, so that's gotta be worth something.
Daring Fireball sent me here. That and Jeff Bezos octopus stories - I must have the meh.
I don't know how to read. I thought I saw a chart in the thread avatar(?). I demand all the info in chart form.
I was a Kickstarter member, and have been with you guys since. Hoping for the best for you
How many of the 170k still have a perfect meh click streak?
@narfcake it's less than 170k. Significantly less, actually. Only the Kickstarter backers could have a perfect streak since they were the only ones here on Day Zero. I think there were 3000 or so initially
@capguncowboy but if someone joined yesterday and clicked both days so far, their streak is unbroken.
@capguncowboy I would be interested to know how many of the initial 3000 are unbroken. I'm guessing about 500.
@medz I'm guessing less than that. Of course, mine was broken since day zero; I couldn't meh an AA shirt.
@medz I'd guess there were probably less than 100 people left with a perfect streak, including Meh employees, who may or may not have the devs edit their history.
@capguncowboy I have heard of pleading and rumors of bribes but I'm fairly certain it's never happened.
I think I may be the remaining employee with an unbroken day zero streak, but I'm not sure.
@narfcake I'm still perfect. So there's that.
Mine is only 168. Dammit.
@dave, can you let us in on the list of perfect meh streaks since Day 0?
I heard about meh from NewsBlur, the RSS reader that I use constantly all day long for work. They do a little "site you should follow" thing that changes every couple weeks and meh was the selection a while back. I was curious about it because I had been a casual woot user in the pre-Amazon days, so I checked it out and got hooked.
Buy "a while back" I mean 45 days. It feels longer than that.
There was a post by Woot on my Facebook page one day, and in the comments someone was all "Fuck Woot yo, the guys from when it didn't suck are running a kickstarter to bring back the deal a day, bitches." And I, if nothing else, was so enchanted by the eloquence of their statement that I felt compelled to jump in on the kickstarter.
@Morgue Same. Someone on woot commented that they couldn't say the name of the site there, but that we should look up what the founder was doing lately in order to find a superior deal-a-day. I thought it was funny the writeup was actively discouraging people from buying the speaker docks for sale, and when I saw my first Possum Head Chronicles I knew I was finally home.
I read an article or something after the Kickstarter already ended and then was all like, "Wow, they suck at letting their main demographic know about them, I had to find out through an article."
@phatmass So I don't get why was there a kickstarter when you had that cool $110 mil?
@smoo99 funded their Amazon experiment. Or recouped cost from it can't remember which was the egg
@smoo99 we wanted to sell some fukubukuros and didn't have a store so we were mildly abusive to kickstarter.
I used to shop Woot back in your hey days but really stopped watching them closely in 2011ish when I got tired of all the changes and less enticing deals. I would say from 2011-2013 I visited woot once a week. In 2014 it became more like once every 2-3 weeks and usually just for shirts. One day in early September I was reading a post on Woot how far to shit the site had became on deals when someone mentioned Meh had the same original operators and have only missed visiting 1 day since then.
Been about 2 mos. and the scary thing is I can't remember how I found you. I've never been part of an online community but find I'm being diabolically sucked in. It has made waking up at 12:40 far more rewarding. If everyone can stop whining about east coast, sellout boo hoo hoo I think I might stay.
Well labrat 3##. Too lazy to look it up. How I got here? I was trying to go to Antarctica. Guess I shouldn't have made that left in Albuquerque.
@brdubb yeah - all those "A" words look alike, don't they...
I don't have the lovely K badge. I joined the bandwagon too late. Followed for a bit but started buying in August. I too probably came from either a Woot, Bensbargains, or Slickdeals forum. I am an East Coaster, Worcester MA to be specific (I bet you pronounce it wrong) Lately I lose out on the good deals because I am sleeping. Oh well, I am over it now. Lack of solid sleep makes my day long and my career is more important to me than a $7 knife. (Although it would have fit nice with my collection of Boker, Benchmade, and CRKT knives). Good for you that you are selling product. Good for you that you have 170K customers. Congrats! This experiment is clearly a success. VMP is a great idea and I had paid for it for several months. I will re-evaluate this in Feb to see if I should keep it. It all depends on how this experiment evolves.
@derek17j Next time there's a cheap knife offered I'll pick one up for you. Seriously, will do.
@derek17j It's pronounced wooostha
This post needs graphs.
@neuromancer and a
Irk did it, in some anonymous cubicle, I'm sure. With a pen.
Gruber at Daring Fireball alerted meh to your presence.
Love the 404 page, though I can't dislodge the tune from memory. Something must beh terribly wrong.
I'm a Daring Fireball guy and try to always use the fuckingamazon link. The writing is great and I often buy things. I might be late to the party, but I bought the Shun knives, so I have that going for me.
So my wife nannies for one of your Mediocre (and quite likable) employees. It wouldn't take a genius to figure out whom, but somehow it feels okay to say it obliquely but not quite okay to say it directly. I only ever dabbled in Woot--two or three t-shirts, maybe some other shit. I think it might have been ruint by Amazon before I caught the bug. I certainly didn't get lost in its community; can't remember if I ever even checked it out. But I knew of Woot and pretended to know who @snapster was. And one day I think I googled the shit out of Rutledge, breakfast octopus, etc. (Not that I read all of that shit, just googled and skimmed mostly.) I'll be honest, I thought this whole mediocre/meh thing might be a way I could impress my friends--by saying I sorta know a guy who knows the guy that started Woot. But for all of that, I still didn't quite commit. Maybe because it didn't seem authentic and did seem a little douchey; I hated my bastardly self, trying to be cool and whatnot.
I wasn't energetic or bored enough to look too far down the Mediocre rabbit hole or even to be too actively involved in meh at first, but I did enthusiastically throw my Hamilton at the Kickstarter. I'd Kickstarted and Indiegogo'ed other stuff, mostly for artsy, geeky, crowdsourcey friends (I have friends who are way cooler and way more ambitious than I am). Kickstarter always feels good to me, even when the ideas are a little lame, because they're also usually at least somewhat unique and edgy.
Eventually, the bizarro videos, the writeups and the insane community sucked me in. And the profanity. I fucking love the profanity. Also, I may or may not have a speaker dock fetish. I have yet to buy a speaker dock from meh (I have a POS iHome that stopped working not long after we got it, long, long ago). We did get one in a fuku; I don't count that as buying because I was buying the fuku bag and it just happened to have a speaker dock in it (technically, with it).
My meh streak is pathetic. I started at day zero so I could be perfect. I'm not. 182:19:82. Not consistent enough to be braggable, but not low enough to pretend I don't care. I suck.
Now I'm a goat. I have never ever ever, by the way, fucked a goat. Though I have done it metaphorically. Myself. Hence my current status. I like to think that I've never--even metaphorically--fingered a dog. So I have that going for me.
@joelmw TL;DR? Yo. meh. I know a guy who knows a guy who knows a guy. Kickstarter. Etc.
@joelmw
@jseay65
@joelmw Damn you are a long winded goat!
@Teripie
Rat #72 over here ... @snapster tweeted something about his new project on the Twitters and I figured I could get in on the ground floor this time. Bought some crap so far (including, dare I say, a speaker dock) and like the vibe enough for me to stay up to 11 every night to see what comes out (but that is for a separate post where the East Coast/West Coast feud is building faster than 2PAC vs the Notorious B.I.G.)
I am not perfect on my meh streak either, had a baby at the end of July and dang him, he got in the way of me clicking on the little face sometimes. I still hold that against him to this day.
and @derek17j the correct pronunciation is Wusstah. Born, bred, and left. ;-)
(and holy crap, if you start the post with #72 you get a very large font ... who knew? Probably someone who RTFM)
@oppodude Damned kids. They ruin everything.
@joelmw That's what I have been saying. I used to love being a miserable person. Now the joy. Oh the joy. Damn him.
Apropos RTFM, what's the name of this markup language?
@oppodude You let a mini human affect your meh streak? Ok, must admit, me too.
@nadroj I know they call the forum system Brenner, per @shawn c.f. https://mediocre.com/forum/topics/inside-the-mediocre-forum-system-codename-brenner
@denboy I could have SWORN I hit the button that day, but in sleep deprived-state, I can only admit the day happened.
@oppodude It's just the '#'. The '72' is not needed.
@oppodude Sleep deprivation makes one do crazy things. It's better than bath salts.
@SSteve Good to know. But 72 is a great #. and @denboy - wouldn't know about bath salts - trying to be low sodium over here ;-)
i woke up from a night of partying and the kickstarter page was open. so i figured, "why the hell not?"
@carl669 Maybe you should have just taken a Morning After pill and been done with it.
Lab Rat #286, been Mediocre for 490 days, I think @cowboydann texted me to ask if I'd signed up yet and that's how I heard. Kickstarted, Goated, broke my meh streak on day 162. I love Irk, dislike Glen, and want to see the next PHC asap.
@Thumperchick I see i've only been mediocre for 349 days but where did you find a rat #?
@Ryaneil I think they only told the first thousand lab rats what their numbers where, in the email that told us about the Seligman experiment.
@Thumperchick I'm Lab Rat #1440, so there's probably more of us running around.
I saw an ad on Twitter so I popped on over. My stats are horrible, but hey, free VMP makes me keep coming back. I even set an alarm for 11C to make sure I don't miss something good. Go team, I guess?
Saw the Kickstarter after it ended. Stuck around. Meh.
I'm lab rat #452... I got a tweet from @Snapster saying they were doing something new. Decided to stick around and see what's up.
What a mistake...
I've been mediocre for 93 days but probably started checking the site a month before that. I have absolutely no idea how I ended up here. None. I can't remember a time when I didn't check meh every day. It's scary.
Oh, and I'm in Costa Rica. Am I one of the 11 loners?
@chokcheesecake Looks like there's about 600 people in Costa Rica checking Meh, for some reason.
@dave are you sure it's not one guy who drinks a lot of coffee?
@dave How about us here in Israel?
@dave aww sad. I wanted to feel special.
@michabailey Good evening! There's about 5,000 people from Israel.
Got here via one of your weird advertising schemes on DF, not sure which... though my favorite was the intentional 404. Haven't been here long, haven't bought anything (which, frankly I'm impressed with my restraint), and though I check every night around midnight (East coast, no whining!) my best streak is somehow only 12. Yipes.
I THINK I read the one of the octopus article's that mentioned the site right when it went 'live.' I was disappointed I didn't get in on the KickStarter but frankly Woot had lost my interest as a community member several years earlier (I used to participate in the photoshop contests for free shipping). I'm also very ADD so I can't completely blame Woot for my getting distracted and moving on to other websites.
Found you luckily somewhat early on through slickdeals or fatwallet. Missed out on the kickstarter campaign either because I missed a post at one of those or due to my lack of visits to woot. Signed up in week 2 I believe. Thanks to the awesome (occasionally profanity-ridden) write-ups, great community, simplicity of one deal per day, and pretty good bargains; I'll keep coming for some time to come.
I mean you pretty much guaranteed me as a lifetime customer with the quality of my first Fuku, so enjoy whatever little monthly purchases I make.
On 9.5.2013 on deals.woot @wilfbrim asked if people had been following Matt on Twitter. I hadn't been but promptly started doing so. As a result, when @snapster put out a call for Lab Rats on 9.10.2013, I got the Tweet. After I signed up (#231), I skedaddled over to deals and spread the word. I was surprised that the post stayed up for nearly a day and know it recruited at least a few lab rats. I've been here ever since (mediocre 491 days), though I don't have the time or money to be as active as many others. I find the community to be fun, interesting and sometimes even educational. Many thanks to @snapster, @dave, @shawn and the whole Mediocre crew for setting the tone that allows us all to challenge our boundaries.
I've been mediocre for 189 days. I got here on July 9, aka Day 1. I was a sometimes user of woot but had pretty much stopped visiting so I didn't know about Mediocre and thus am not a cool kid with a "K". I found out about meh from this link on One Foot Tsunami. Hmm, I wonder if Paul Kafasis is one of the Kickstarter backers…
Fearless Leader Rat #254. I don't know where to check to find out how long I've been Mediocre, but it must have been early September '13. I follow Snapster on Twitter so knew pretty quick about Meh. Oh, any my Woot account # is 55692. I still have a lot of friends there.
@pooflady your account page will show it.
@Ignorant Thanks. I've been Mediocre 491 days!
@pooflady #255 and I'm still following you. :)
My wife and I had been obsessing over the word Meh. She had asked me for a website link and I was going to send her meh.com; was surprised when it turned out to be a real site.
@jseay65 Best origin story yet!
@jseay65 I'm marking you down as "here's the customer worth $100,000"
@snapster I've been hooked ever since. And because I'm a EastCoaster my daily coffee intake has doubled if not trippled. How about some k-cup deals in the future?
@jseay65
https://meh.com/deals/capresso-12-cup-coffee-maker
I just noticed that if you click the Meh logo on the home page it dances and sings. Glorious.
@Ozzie2191 just in time for our twitter theme song to launch tonight!
I've been mediocre for years (just ask my mother), but i've only been Mediocre for 36 days. Found via one of your DaringFireball ads.
K badger here. I've missed a few clicks, though. I tear up when I think about it.
I'm local. For whom do I need to buy lunch in Addison to have a few database rows inserted for my missed mehs?
@pwinn You can get a job as a developer, tester, or DevOp for Mediocre and do it yourself! I claim your referral.
MY FRIEND IS ONE OF THOSE POOPS!
I've been a Mediocre person for 180 days. I read an article about @snapster and a breakfast octopus and had to check it out. Life has been just meh ever since.
Been mediocre for 155 days. Found out about meh from The Cheapskate when Rick promoted the AOC Slim LED Monitor
Since I didn't realize immediately that meh was what Woot was supposed to still be, I failed to religiously check every night at first, but have since become addicted to the forums. It's such a relief to be able to see I'm not the only one.
It's great to see the community growing and hopefully the ecommerce experiment is a success. I hope that all the new mehmbers are also still crazy after all these years.
I was a wooter for YEARS thanks to woot tv and now I found out about this because of Meh Tv and then my wife ( @mtinks88 ) found out via slick deals or something and now I cant keep her off the site so I guess we are sticking around again :)
I was wandering through the halls of Retail, just trying to find a deal, and failing to the point of despair. I turned my gaze skyward and yelled "please! give me a sign!" and lo the clouds parted and the face of a minor deity appeared -- I think it was either Malodorus the god of flatulence or Miliarius the god of prickly heat -- and the faced looked upon me and said "Meh". And that's how I found the site. Or I read about the Kickstarter in the Dallas Morning News (http://bizbeatblog.dallasnews.com/2014/06/woot-founder-launches-kickstarter-campaign-for-classic-daily-deal-site.html/). It was definitely one of those.
I stopped using Woot long ago when they added too many sites and the deals weren't do good. Became Mediocre very early on.
I don't remember how I found out about the Kickstarter. I re-purposed those neurons (or destroyed them) long ago. I do remember thinking that I enjoyed the original Woot, and the new site might bring back some of the fun & deals, and that snapstar guy seemed pretty cool. Oh well, I guess 2 out of 3 isn't bad.
Woot got to be a chore. Lost touch. Rambled from site to site. Saw the light (news article) in July-ish. Been meh since. VMP twice (credit card malfunction). 134 clicks. Longest streak 41. It's those meddling kids.
Thanks for this. I'm all about the stats, 'bout the stats.
No Trouble
I heard about the Kickstarter from the Tim Rogers write-up on the breakfast octopus. I had just popped my Kickstarter cherry on a lookinglass hologram, so I tossed another 10 bucks into the kitty for a fuku. I had been trying for a BOC since 2006 after learning of them in the Mini Cooper forums, where a member would alert us to every woot-off. I was once passed by a speeding Mini with a WOOT license plate – was that one of you guys?
@Trillian nope - Texas woot/w00t plates were taken by 2004 when I thought to check.
@snapster This is still available
I've been here since early mid-November after getting an email from Amazon bragging that this place was all new and exclusive and that I should feel special about being invited to try Meh.
What a load of bologna.
But I love it here anyhow.
Found out about Mediocre & then Meh from someone posting on deals.woot- never got involved there, but was a regular reader for quite a while. Made a very wise decision to back the Kickstarter at work because I thought it would sell out by the time I got home, and I was right.
I've been a member 486 days. I joined Mediocre before I joined Meh and played the decorate office game. I think I found it through Snapster's Twitter. I do not know what number lab rat I am though. How can you tell?
@readnj from the number assigned to you in the first email they sent out. -- I got mine on Otober 7th, 2013
@capguncowboy Thanks- I'm Fearless Leader Rat #956 and apparently a pack rat too since I found the email!
AT FIRST: I was a little upset that I learned about it from D magazine article about the Bezos Octopus blah blah... I was slightly miffed that I was not on the kickstarter radar... I secretly sulked to myself: "how did ol' unixrab get overlooked in the "this-guy-really-liked-woot-and-was-involved-in-the-forums-and-2.0-3.0-and-4.0-discussions..and-spends-a-lot-of-money" category?
Then... the site went live and I was there day 1.. "hmmm" I thought "... odd.... great write up and awesome site construction... but.. dayum...what a shitty product"
fast forward: day 2.... 3....5........7.......22......36......68... 109....
I began to understand... @snapster wanted to spare me the utter disappointment that embodies (and is signified within) the very name MEH
So... Thank you Matt! I'm with you.. thank you for allowing me to save money...and support you and your site (at least in spirit)
here's hoping that you'll soon offer more than 1 deal a month that justifies the black hole that is VMP
SALUTE!
@unixrab not sure if anyone has ever asked, but im curious. What type of product or deal are you looking for? You seem pretty insistent that every deal offered is garbage, well, what isnt?
@unixrab thank you my favorite motivator.
@studerc so far...fuku's BUT... I'll tell you what I've purchased from woot since July:
1/10/15 Multimeter
1/7/15 refurb neato
12/8/14 motion sensing LED lights
12/7/14 Batteries (DURACELL not SAMSUNG)
10/20 Air compressor 3 tool combo kit (before meh)
10/14 LED bulb 6 pack
9/3 Rembrant Teeth white pack
8/7 Air Mattress
7/9 Vornado fan ...
so...
those kinda things.
PS: no speaker docks@unixrab De gustibus non est disputandum. I have bought 4 or 5 things from woot! that weren't shirt.woot orders. Ever. I have more than a dozen orders here. A lot fewer than some people, I'm sure, but it speaks to what I consider deals.
@snapster ^^ those kinda things ! ;-)
@unixrab Looks like a whole lotta stuff out of the tools section of woot. I enjoyed that section as well.
@nadroj I've thought about this .. honestly.. I have. Sometimes, (in my mild days) I think to my self: "self... maybe @snapster just sold me all the stuff I needed first... Shun Knives.. roombas... Dysons... et cetera" ... but then I think to my other self (cursed unixrab-durden) woot still sells good stuff... why can't meh.com...." then it hits me... "meh" /meh .........
SO FAR!
...........I have hope.
@studerc yeah... for sure. Something's afoot... no way meh.com can't NOT get some of these deals... I suspect lawyers. /justsayin
@studerc Thank you for asking... I'm not trolling
I started by reading the boards over at the old site.
There was some mention about joining the mediocre site and then I started to get the emails and followed and waited like most of us for the invitation to be a kickstarter backer. To this day I wish I had bought one of the $100 spots to take advantage of the one day of free advertising on the site.
I have never missed a day. I got really angry when I clicked the meh button and my face didn't register 4 times, but whatever, my ocd will be fine.
I love this place, I don't get as emotionally involved like others do, but I love all the whining and crying over the littlest stuff.
Please continue suckering people into wasting their money on shit they probably don't need. It truly is one of the best forms of entertainment on the internet,
@somf69 I KNEW IT! the face conspiracy! I'm not the only one
I was feeling meh and typed it into the Google machine. Lo and behold here I am. Hopefully my therapist can figure out why I keep coming back.
I have been mediocre all my life, 187 days officially.
I divorced Woot years ago, but my July birthday is the same as Woot’s. I had a calendar reminder pop up to check Woot’s birthday offer. I had to Google Woot, and the results turned up Matt’s new venture. Just missed the Kickstarter – my first purchase was the soap dispenser on July 15th. Rocky-Difficult-Dragon. I was hooked.
28 purchases later, I need a bigger house.
@KDemo you had to google woot?
@marklog Well, yeah. My bookmark had long since disappeared. I could have typed woot.com, I guess, but typing woot in the e-dress field and clicking saves a keystroke or two. Wait, maybe you're not criticizing; maybe you're in awe. [Standing proudly] Yes, I Googled Woot, and I was a black triangle back in the day.
I'm just glad meh is here and a success!
@smilingjack 2nd
TekSyndicate mentioned meh on YouTube in an older episode. Checked it out one day and had some pretty cheap things that were actually pretty cool.
Been a mehican ever since.
i stumbled across the website looking for a youtube i was going to troll someone with .
bought a meh shirt, and then a bunch of stuff.
Fearless Leader Rat #211, medicore for 491 days. No idea how I got here. Probably won't leave. Unless @snapster sells this to Amazon. Again.
I think I had another username at some point, but I've been with you guys since the kickstarter.
From an email dated 10/7/2013, 24 days ago you signed up to be a lab rat at Mediocre Laboratories. Remember that great time? Well you can brag about being Fearless Leader Rat #380 to your mediocre rat friends (and enemies) someday. And that day is today
The home page says 167 days. Streak not perfect. Bot ate a few. How I got here? I have no clue. I never remember directions after the first few turns...
@dave I had a targeted ad appear on Twitter which led me to the account of @snapster and led me to Mediocre. How successful was that marketing campaign? I don't recall any mention of it so far
@TheAlmighty1 You'll have to ask @snapster, that was just a thing he was trying out. Guess it worked at least once!
@snapster consider this a formal request for insight you're willing to share from the targeted twitter ad campaign that brought me to the promised land. K thx bai
Someone happened to mention meh over in the woot forums back in November -- been hooked since and glad to get back that fun feeling that has been lost with woot! Meh.
I follow @snapster on Twitter and he mentioned the Kickstarter.
Lab Rat #317. Mediocre for 493 days. Read about Snapster having a twitter feed from deals woot. Followed him. Saw the link. Signed up. My life may or may not be better for it.
