@Stallion I'd like an under 24" one for the bedroom once I have money and one maybe 42" (but no more than 50") for the living room. This size is awkward.
@bradwardlaw I have two 42" TV's I use as monitors and they have the same DPI as these work great hubby is happy so today I made my self happy by giving me an early Christmas gift.
Truth be told, I really want this deal. I volunteer after teaching at the youth shelter on campus for displaced teens. They had a TV, one old tube TV that they could watch movies on but it finally died today. Kids were pretty upset because it was one of the "nice" things they had. Unfortunately I only get paid once a month at the end of the month. The kids would have loved this. Maybe next month? And of course, damn me!
@studerc if you need just any ol' TV. I'm sure local freecycle, Goodwill or Craigslist can donate or sell for very cheap if you make the good cause claim... Or wait till morning, when snapster just sends you one and you can make the thread about how awesome meh.com is.
@username I did some looking around today with a few of the kids. Found a few big old tube TVs that were decently cheap, none of which they were willing to donate. I found a good 32 lcd at a garage sale but alas they wanted cash and I'm broke till the end of the month. I'm not looking for hand outs. I just find it interesting how much people complain about these things when a TV like this would be unreal to these kiddos. It's all good! :) I still blame myself, damn twofer Tuesday temptress.
@studerc Wow, you really do it all, don't you? I used to work at a youth shelter in STL that I absolutely loved (and one here in Texas that I didn't). I wish I could send you one of these for the kids, I know what a difference that kind of thing can make.
@Kleineleh Haha, I suppose! Growing up I didn't have much. Got some help from friends and strangers when things got worse. Now, with my success, I wanted to be sure that I paid back to show these kids that things aren't all bad. Hope and a persons time can go a long way. You know, real inspirational shit.
@studerc People don't always realize what time and a little personal attention and interest can really mean to these kids. I'm not going to tell you how good you are for doing what you're doing 'cause those were always really awkward conversations for me, but I'm glad there are still people who are there for the right reasons spending time with them.
@studerc Wish I could help you out but I am broke too… and I only need one TV so I could have sent you the second were I not so broke (bought next to nothing here - all christmas presents for family since it is so much cheaper to do it this way…) Maybe set up a small go fund me, get @snapster to put one aside, advertise the gofundme here and then you can get the kids a TV… When I mentioned mine @JonT said it was OK to post it (I never did as it felt weird as it was to pay my cancer bills and not for helping someone else - yours is to help others) and didn't break the rules.
@studerc Actually better yet if it is possible have people donate the money directly to meh so no gofundme charges. Meh can get a tax deduction for charity and your kids can get a TV. Would that work @snapster ?
@studerc Where in the country are you? I have two tube TVs I'd happily give away. Both work, but they're heavy as hell. I'm working on replacing them with something a scrawny chick like me can move around.
@studerc I paid someone to take my working 2-27" TVs and a few other monitors and TVs. (Yes received the remotes). It was only $5 a TV, but it was cheaper than driving them to the recycling center 60 miles away.
@studerc I hope you try freecycle. A lot of really good things are given away on freecycle, and people like to feel good about where they go. I still remember giving away my IPod and how good it felt to make someone's Christmas. Lots of people are upgrading TVs (is it still football season?) and around here the donation centers won't even take tube TVs as they can't sell them. Freecycle isn;t about taking handouts, its about keeping still-useful items out of landfills. Use it as a teachable moment for the kids. I'm sure if you post to freecycle you'll get at least one. With freecycle you usually have to give something away before you ask for something, so look around your place for something you can get rid of and post that, then ask for the tv. https://www.freecycle.org/
@moondrake Never actually heard of free cycle until this thread. I took some time to look for things in my surrounding area and I've come to find that unfortunately, nobody within 75-80 miles really utilizes the service. I would probably have a better chance at a goodwill or thrift shop. I appreciate the thought though!
@studerc Do you have a Pennysaver ? Ours has a section where people write in questions like: "do you know who could use xyz ?" Or you can write and say: "who knows someone that will donate xzy to suchandso organization for thisandthat ? " It's been incredibly successful around here for groups to get stuff they need and for people to donate stuff they want to get rid of or who just want to help out !
@username I have an HDMI out port on my laptop and use a 40" TV as a monitor for it... Great for gaming or watching movies in the bedroom. According to the specs in the link, these TVs also have a VGA input port.
@sherryblue Hey Kid. The Korean goverment will laught at you. You can't get this deal anyway. The Korean Customs will contact you as it arrives in Korea. You will be directed to take an electronic check authentication on these items. Anway, you will give away one of the two TVs to the Customs. Have you ever heard of 'the magic of 전파인증'? Oh poor silly bro.
@SSteve When they sold the shirts, we were supposed to tell 9 friends about meh. Now we're supposed to find a tenth friend that doesn't know about it? These write ups are going to give me a complex...
@grcoates Why would anyone hate you? It's an incredibly smart thing to do. Meh makes a little money, you make a little money, and if you sell it cheap enough, those you sell to save a little money. It's a win-win all around.
@grcoates Hoping you checked the eBay sales before ordering those. Selling for $179/free ship. I already explored that option (mediocre minds think alike).
@ruouttaurmind yeah, I did check. Those are for damaged TVs and I'm thinking that if these are in perfect refurb condition I can maybe get $220-250 for them. We shall see. I scored big time on the Kindles recently.
Setting them up as a continuously changing art display on two walls of the house. NFC/BlueTooth/WiFi will track who walks into the room and change the display to their preferred style. RaspberryPie unit will run the displays. This is going to be fun.
@editorkid That's the breaks I guess. But if I were displaying art, I would use an Asus chromebox with a 4K monitor. Yeah - I'm a little too high maintenance for your bromance.
I bought this back when Meh was selling just the one. It was a GREAT upgrade from my original 19" TV. I'm not one to split hairs over true HD quality and whatnot, but for the price I am very happy with it. My only gripe is that the sound could be louder. Most days 30% volume sounds the same as 50%. Should have totally bought that sound bar to hook up to my TV when it was offered.... Meh.
I took the plunge. Still not real clear about the meh warranty. My question is that when you click on the link it refers to the warranty being 90 days, yet above the meh warranty looks like it starts after 90 days and ends at 1 year after purchase. If that is true, does that mean within a year if there is a manufacturer defect, that you will either replace it with the same model, or give me a refund (if no stock is available)? Please clarify - thanks
@gak0090 That's pretty much correct, the first 90 days you'll need to go through Funai and if it's after that but still within a year you'll contact us.
@JonT Thanks! Now- when you mean it's "pretty much correct" does that imply when/if I contact you during that period you'll just pretty much laugh your ass off and say "sucker!!!!"?
kikilof said: If you put 55", 65" or 70" LG or Samsung TV on sale right before Black Friday season, you would make a huge sale like JBL speaker docks. It comes with dual voltage for easy use in Korea and Korean language option. And one year warranty makes it popular.
sherryblue said: Some Samsung products can't be supported in Korea. (Can't find model name and parts number... Some of them are US only models and parts are not available in Korea.) Hope to see products compatible in Korea for service. I'm looking for sound-bars all day long.
This was fate. Both my friend and I needed TVs for our gaming dens. Also hockey season is about to start and apparently I scare the dogs when I watch it on the main TV...
@mehsieh Emails aren't sent automatically. There's a button you can click to send you one during checkout, though. For now, just check your order at https://meh.com/orders
@mehsieh nope that's exactly how the site works. We use order words instead of numbers, and no email confirmations unless you specifically request one when you check out.
I'm in. The only complaint at Walmart is failure to work after 6 months or so, and since I stupidly trust Meh's warranty, I have no problems! Splitting this deal with a co-worker!
If it was $150 per one item, I would have bought it. A person can only purchase one electronic item per order because of radio wave approval system in Korea.
@tklee000 And this product is only 120V power compatible product. Sadly, it is not worthwhile to purchase in Korea. I bought two with my friend but I need to sell this at the point of my leaving the U.S.
Thank you for the information, but in the description it says a one year warranty. It says that the first 90 days are through Funai (whoever that is) and then Meh.com carries the warranty for the rest of the year (275 days). I can't find any information about any of this other than that.
The link you sent only says Meh.com will warranty for 90 days.
Do you know where I can find the other info? Thanks!
I got both of mine today, after sitting out on my front porch since 8:30AM. After unboxing, one still had the yellow energy guide sticker on the front, both have the Funai refurb stickers on the back over the original serial numbers. Due to paperwork, it appears to have been refurbished in the U.S. Lots of scuffs and swirl marks on the bezels and base which are only visible up close, it looks fine from 3 feet away. This looks like a refurbished Walmart floor model, I don't know how else it could have this much physical wear on the bezel. There were no deep scratches but there was one stripped base attachment screw but I was able to force it in. Surprisingly the screens are flawless, no scratches, no scuffs, not even a single fingerprint. Honestly these screens looks brand new. The picture on both is fantastic, for the money anyway, but was tested with the $15 Phillips Blu-Ray player received a day earlier. The sound is passable, kind of high pitch and tinny, but with a TV this thin, that's going to happen due to the small speakers. May not suffice for a large family room T.V., but come on this is a workshop, library, bathroom, garage kind of T.V. anyway. I was pleasantly surprised by this purchase. If these come up again, don't hesitate to buy this as an additional T.V. It may even work for some as a main T.V. if you aren't too picky about sound.
I also got mine today, the first one unboxed, plugged into the Chromebox on my Work Desk, beautiful, The second one is also beautiful, but not in a Happy Way. the screen is fully spiderwebbed and glows a purpleish blue when plugged in. It must have been damaged after quality testing but before packing, as the boxes were fine!
Called Emmerson, they said "F- You"
Lets see how Meh's replacement / refund / whatever policy works on a 2-Fer.
I submitted a claim about 10am, but have not heard anything back yet :(
@Gjeret Really? Emereson was unhelpful? That is disappointing. I need to call about mine today. It worked for one movie (hdmi 3 has no sound, but hdmi 2 worked ok) and now it is doing the same spiderwebby thing on the top portion of the screen
@Gjeret Right now our support team is really good about responding to everyone within 24 hours (72 at the latest if you sent something in on Friday after normal work hours) so if you haven't received a response of any kind something is definitely screwy. Check your spam folders and maybe do a quick inbox search for support@meh.com.
@lolzitsdave you might find someone willing to part, but shipping might nix the benefit. personally I regret not buying four. These were an awesome deal. At this price they can even be computer monitors.

@mediocrebot So does this mean if I am your friend you will only charge me $1.50 for one? Please can I be your friend?
Meh.
2 TV's for $300, crazy how old a few years ago that was not the case. Price is nice, but Meh on the size.

meh
I want one of those surprise goodie bags. Missed out last time
@ninkorn I've missed out Everytime :( meh
aint nobody need that
Mehmerson...
Nope, don't need two tvs, and especially don't need THESE two tvs (especially since they're not in Georgia red, whatever that is)
What the fuck is wrong with you people?!
(Seriously, who is gonna buy two TVs...)
@Fej someone who wants to split the cost with a buddy?
@Fej So far, 13 people (at 42 minutes in).
@Fej or anyone who wants a TV in their bedroom and living room (or den, kids room, game room, etc.)
the write up has both math and spelling errors.
Step 9 end price is $15. Minus the three spot each is $12... not $13
@Bogie I noticed this, too! @JasonToon what's up with that?
@Bogie Ah man, I was trying to be all cool and come in here and say that I can do math. You beat me to it good sir.
@Bogie So we're down to 50 cents?!? NOW your talking a deal.
Wow thats insane
errr.. meh...
2-for-Tuesday .... Great
Even my cat said meh to this one
Two for TuesMeh.
Elvis needed two TVs. I do not. Meh.
@bakeyoural I thought he watched three TVs at once? Which means that he would have to buy two of these two-fers and keep the fourth TV in reserve.
@FsFalcon Well, he shot one TV so indeed two two-fers would be appropriate for his 3 television viewing needs. I support your theory.
If only they were monitors. I suppose one could use them as such, but meh.
@bradwardlaw I use a 40" TV as a monitor for my laptop, works great for gaming and everything and I never have to hunch forward to see stuff.
@bradwardlaw Yes gaming only, see here: http://lifehacker.com/5884040/is-it-okay-to-use-an-hdtv-as-a-computer-monitor

Gotta give them props to out meh themselves and keep it truly meh.
I am in the market for a nice big monitor if you got one.. Not TV though.. Want to get rid of the one I already have.
@username I have an HDMI out port on my laptop and use a 40" TV as a monitor for it... Great for gaming or watching movies in the bedroom. According to the specs in the link, these TVs also have a VGA input port.

Awesome deal. I'm not in the market for a new TV right now but I'm gonna share this with everyone I know who might need one (or two).
I'm trying to work a "friend" over now, would be happy to welcome this in my home.
What meh should have done is sell one TV plus the HP computer so two items for Tuesday and they might have dumped some of the computers...
@Kidsandliz Refurbished HP computer + refurbished Emerson TV, instant home theater combo.
Is this free-volt?
@minfall the owner's manual says 120v only
160 for 1 is better than 300 for 2.
@Gaster yup
I'm stuck at the first part of step 1: "Find a friend." It's nice of @JasonToon to pre-suppose I have a friend.
@SSteve Jason doesn't have any, so he just assumed you stole his.
@SSteve When they sold the shirts, we were supposed to tell 9 friends about meh. Now we're supposed to find a tenth friend that doesn't know about it? These write ups are going to give me a complex...
i can pay up to 175 for 1. :)
Ya, $160 is doable. $300 is... meh. Too much effort to find someone who wants to split the cost so I can try a computer monitor experiment.
This is a great deal, but the total cost is out of my price range. Admittedly my current price range is the $5 cost of shipping.
I bought 6 to sell on ebay. Don't hate me.
@grcoates How's the weather in Chicago?
@grcoates smart

@jrwofuga http://www.amazon.com/Georgia-Bulldogs-College-Outdoor-Cover/dp/B00LUB0WOM
@jrwofuga
@ceagee by the teeth marks on that cap, i'd say that's a refurb.
I would do it but then I'd have 3 TVs that wouldn't fit in my 38-1/2" cabinet.
hmmm...
@marklog BEZEL MANIA

@jqubed Only If I can daisy chain all the speaker docks around the perimiter of my room. Then I will be god.

@RachelDanger27 I like your style.

Hahaha...Texans love their TVs. I can guarantee that these are going to end up in some garages and on some back patios. Source: Just moved from Texas
Bought a 40 inch Emerson 1080 new for $198 on Black Friday 2 yrs back so meh!!
I'm in. The only complaint at Walmart is failure to work after 6 months or so, and since I stupidly trust Meh's warranty, I have no problems! Splitting this deal with a co-worker!
I work for a TV manufacturer that is not Emerson. Therefore, I meh.
1대 150$ 였으면 샀을겁니다. 한국은 전자파인증때문에 전자제품기기는 1인 1대 밖에 동시구입이 안됩니다...
If it was $150 per one item, I would have bought it. A person can only purchase one electronic item per order because of radio wave approval system in Korea.
@tklee000 뽐뿌에서도 한대 버려야된다는 의견이 분분. ㅎㅎ 아이고 의미없는 1+1 행사다 ㅎㅎ
@EthanP 많이 아쉬운 화요일 2 for Tuesday 이네요
@tklee000 And this product is only 120V power compatible product. Sadly, it is not worthwhile to purchase in Korea. I bought two with my friend but I need to sell this at the point of my leaving the U.S.
Meh.
A refurb walmart item? What do I look like, an ex con? Why would I want that? Meh
@lumber5607 What does refurb have to do with ex cons? I'm really not getting that.
Only AC 120V. needed voltage converter to 220V for me.
Any idea when these will ship?
@TBoneZeOriginal I believe they're being boxed up and shipped out today.
@JonT Thanks!
@TBoneZeOriginal Mine shipped yesterday
@djzlatko yep, mine did too! Delivery for Tuesday! I also dropped by Walmart to check out this TV on display, and it's gorgeous!
Sweet, mine get in thursday. Glad to hear it's gorgeous. I took a gamble on an off brand led a few years back and it turned out fantastic.
Great TV! Got it yesterday.
Where can I get warranty info? Do we need to register this for the warranty to be in effect?
Thanks!
@Tadlem43 From the post at the top of this thread: "Warranty - 1 Year (90 Day - Funai, 275 Day - Meh)" Here's the link to Meh's warranty - https://meh.com/forum/topics/the-meh-warranty-for-what-its-worth--not-much-
Thank you for the information, but in the description it says a one year warranty. It says that the first 90 days are through Funai (whoever that is) and then Meh.com carries the warranty for the rest of the year (275 days). I can't find any information about any of this other than that.
The link you sent only says Meh.com will warranty for 90 days.
Do you know where I can find the other info?
Thanks!
@Tadlem43 Maybe @JonT can get the appropriate person to answer this?
@Tadlem43 I think I just replied to you but the number for Funai is 1866-309-8819
Thanks. I sent an e-mail to the meh.com site. We'll see.
@mehdaf Thanks for the review! Good stuff.
@Gjeret Was that this info that @hollboll posted? "the number for Funai is 1866-309-8819"
Just called Funai, They said it is Meh's Problem.
I still have not received any communication from Meh.
My Support number with Funai is
1422574
Anyone have a number or e-mail for Meh so I can get this taken care of as I have not received any communication through the web form?
@Gjeret Right now our support team is really good about responding to everyone within 24 hours (72 at the latest if you sent something in on Friday after normal work hours) so if you haven't received a response of any kind something is definitely screwy. Check your spam folders and maybe do a quick inbox search for support@meh.com.
@JonT I have checked my e-mail, Server Logs, Anti-Spam Logs, and our HIPAA Archive. Nada, I will try and re-submit a request again.
@Gjeret I'll make sure we keep an eye out for it.
@Gjeret I replied to your first message, not sure why you didn't get it. But I'm replying to the one you just sent. :)
I was setting mine up today and no remote?
@misslonglegs That's a bummer. Each of mine had a remote in a plastic bag along with the instruction manual
An Update, after my Second Request, Meh did reach out to me and is working on the issue! Thanks Meh!
@Gjeret
I'm wondering if someone will talk to me about my cracked screen then? The rep asked me for pictures and I haven't heard from Meh again! 😢
@samuel_park It looks like we replied but you might not have received it for some reason. We just sent a response to the new email you sent us.
Anyone wanna sell me there extra one?
@lolzitsdave Man, these were sold a while back, so I'm sure everyone has already eaten the extra TVs
@capguncowboy Really? 21 days is a while back?
@lolzitsdave you might find someone willing to part, but shipping might nix the benefit. personally I regret not buying four. These were an awesome deal. At this price they can even be computer monitors.
Mine arrived yesterday, pretty good deal at $150 each.
@Lazarpandar
They took almost 4 years to arrive?
But these were shipped via FedEx Ground, not SmartPost.
@Lazarpandar @PlacidPenguin I’ve heard that meh shipping is slow.
@Lazarpandar @therealjrn
These were shipped FedEx Ground, not SmartPost though.
