@guybrush01@hamjudo, you can consider me a bit senile, hamjudo, since I didn’t quite understand what you meant about "capitalization’, or a ‘1 dimensional dwarf’. If it was an insult then, no biggy, as a Nam vet, I’m used to all the insults we received after we came home from that war!!
Evidently, some of you guys on this site just don’t seem to respect veterans, or military & some of y’all find it more convenient to believe I’m not actually a vet. That, I can do nothing about, nor do I spend time letting it disturb me.
I can say that any person guilty of Stolen Valor is in the same category as a Rapist, or damn Pedophile, in my book!!
I can also say that I was not drafted, but joined the Army in '68 & reached the rank of E-4 [Specialist 4rh class] & went to Nam in 1970, was assigned with the 1st Cav in the Central Highlands. I don’t think it was intended to be anything personal…
@1DisabledWarVet@guybrush01@Kyeh I must admit that commenting on someone’s name or username is by definition personal. It wasn’t my intent to be rude, but that is almost always a given when attempting humor with a name. So I clearly was rude and I apologize.

The senility reference was to my own brain. I took the Montreal Cognitive Assessment before it was made famous. I did not get a perfect score.
@goblin I didn’t catch the $39 deal, but did by this brand @ $29 for 60 [I think,… I have total recall,…but I just can’t remember nothin!!]. I’ll check, if I can do it in 5 min. Yep, I did that on 02•09•21!! That looks like a Bad Deal Now!!
@goblin@mehvid1, I may be missing the point, but though he’s clearly being sarcastic, he was was also clear about paying the $29 which is $10 less than the $39 he already paid, not More! Getting old has not helped my math in the least, so was I dumber than a 5th grader again, or what¿?
They are likely to keep dropping as time goes on, and more people get vaccinated and we get closer to not needing them. At that point they will be like $5 a case.
This is all assuming this pandemic doesn’t get out of control before that point with a more contagious variant that the vaccines are ineffective on. Having tens of millions of people having the disease at a time around the world is a bad scenario when considering mutation potential. That’s the real vaccine race: get it under control before a worse variant shows up, or even one that just means starting over developing new vaccines.
@kevinrs, that fn scenario IS exactly what happened with the flu, but they call’um mfs different ‘strains’ & they Do have to make different vaccs for Each One!! Everybody do think the critical times are gonna get better, but…& I hate to bring this up, but Jesus said, ‘plagues’, not ‘a plague’ & the Horsemen @ the book of Revelation don’t paint any brighter picture,…Sorry!!
@kevinrs Did you get a cold or the flu this year? I did not. I usually get several colds, and often the flu (despite getting a flu shot) every year (plus seasonal allergies) but I didn’t catch a thing this whole year. I attribute it to the fact that “masks work,” not just for Covid but for most URIs. I plan to wear a mask regularly during cold/flu season, and during allergy season(s), particularly when I’m going to be in crowds. So yeah, I’m going to keep a good-sized stockpile, and cheap is good enough (now that I’ve gotten my C19 vax.) This isn’t a judgement of others, just for myself…
@cbl_wv@kevinrs I am curious what this will do to social acceptability of masks in public.
Keep in mind, at the start of 2020 it was not generally considered acceptable in the U.S. to walk into a business wearing a mask. If anything, it was considered suspicious or threatening, and might result in a phone call to security or the police if you refused to take it off. The first time I did it, I felt really weird for this very reason.
I hope it will continue to be more acceptable in the future. I would be happy to try to keep my germs to myself when I am sick in the winter.
@cbl_wv I think though that there is going to be a considerable number of people who, as soon as it’s “safe” or even just allowed, are going to immediately drop using masks entirely. At some point demand will drop way below what the supply on hand and in shipments is, and prices will drop like a rock.
Yes, people should probably keep wearing masks, but I think the vast majority won’t.
A few months before covid, I went to urgent care with a bad case of the flu, and put on one of the masks they have right there for sick people to use, since I didn’t want to spread what I had. The doctor asked why I was wearing the mask, as if I shouldn’t have bothered with it.
@mike808, I hate to say [post this], but you’re right, I didn’t. I am 73, so though, I can pretty much say whatever hell I want & not be worried about the ‘political correct policesquad’ knit picking every word I post, I do kinda hold it down for sensitive ears & prudish whinners but for jerks who just wanna start a pissin contest, I often just tell them to Fuck Yourself!! Ergo, take your pick, Mikie808!!,
It was the expression you used that I was commenting on. It is in the same category as people who say “To be honest, …” which literally means that they haven’t been.
I was just noting, that if someone who says “I hate to say it, …” truly hated saying something, then they wouldn’t say it. It is an admission of dishonesty, and as such, I am free to completely disregard the disingenuous position and comments of such a serial liar, much like the fecal vocalized effluvia of the Former Guy.
Or are you saying I should just categorically ignore your rantings in the aether because you don’t know what you’re rambling on about more generally and not just in this instance? (I can identify as a snarky old fart, too, ya know. )
I don’t think that’s fair at all. I regularly use the phrase “I hate to say this, but…” where I am genuinely unhappy with the conclusion I am about to relate.
It comes up a lot at work. I work in embedded systems. When something is not working correctly and I am trying to debug it, sometimes the investigation ends up pointing to something with painful consequences for other parts of the system or other members of my team. Those aren’t happy moments, but there’s no dishonesty involved.
@Limewater@mike808, Yes Sir, Mr Limewater, you made some very wise, interesting & Reasonable points, but they must be heard & understood by reasonable people, but if a buffoon reads your comment they just can’t comprehend the meanings of your post, so they resort to derogatory & snarty remarks to sub for the lack of wisdom & the lack of understanding the English Lexicon. Ordinarily, I simply pity such people, but do take exception on pitying a jerk who really knows better, but they actually Revel in being a jerk,…what is That about?
One day, meh.com will sell unappealing garbage again. Until then, I think the investors have too much money they no longer need except to heat genie homes and taunt their mustached enemies with their $50 bill hats.
I purchased this style of mask from an Amazon vendor recently.
While it is true that they offer great protection if they are fitted correctly (and the dog muzzle style doesn’t get stuck to your saliva), I found this style more difficult than average to seal around the face using ear loops.
I had to refit them with elastic to go around the back of my head. Bear in mind, I have a huge skull and skinny face, plus, this same mask is known to run small from some manufacturers and large from others.
Anyhow – if you bought them already, no matter how they fit, they are no worse than the trifold surgical masks everyone is using which allow huge gaps of air in.
Just know that the very high protection promised is only delivered if the mask is fitted correctly.
@brasscupcakes
With some of the KN95 masks sold here previously I found that a tiny s-clip at the back of the head makes them fit snugly. Something kinda like these.
I hope these aren’t among the ones being made with forced labor. As of last July, at least 17 Chinese companies were making masks using Uyghur Muslim forced labor.
“You’ll put them on your face, probably.” Well, evidently, they forgot about my BFF,…my dog! He wears one [or two] when I take him out with me, or to the Vet & Yes, he wears his Ray•Ban sunglasses when the sun’s out. …why not¿?
@Kyeh, not really, that was a bit of sarcastic hyperbole. I think I’m the tolerent one; he, Quasimodo, 🦺 is going on 17, so sometimes he can’t make it outside to TCB!! He teaches my both patience & what real love requires. I’m still learning, and at 73 I can’t sometimes make it outside either [so to speak]!!
@1DisabledWarVet Quasimodo - that’s a great name. And that’s impressive that he’s almost 17 years old! I know how it goes - I’ve had several cats live to be old and frail, and you just do whatever you have to because the loyalty goes both ways. I have seen dogs wearing goggles so I guess there are some pretty tolerant ones; not sure they’d be okay with masks, though!
Still have about 20 of these left, but I am in for a 100 more. Been fully vaccinated, but as I see on social media and drive past a group of idiots every evening who are still out in public protesting the results of the last election, I fully expect that this virus will continue to mutate and have it’s way with us. The ignorance and prideful stupidity is mind boggling. Humans… Sheesh!
@TexterTusher I question your comment on you driving past election protestors every evening. Seems unlikely.
Look closer. If they’re burning things, rioting, looting and being generally violent to anyone and everyone then they’re probably Antifa idiots or BLM idiots protesting to defund the police.
@TexterTusher@Trinityscrew Funny, only one group rioted and attempted to assassinate elected officials, and it wasn’t either of the two you just mentioned.
Take a ride here.
Sunrise Highway, Bellmore Long Island, New York. You will see that the ignorance and inbreeding runs deep.
They are here. They think of themselves as patriots. Don’t question or argue with them . Logic and reason have no place in their world. They have been force fed an algorithm of lies and it is so much easier than actually thinking for themselves.
@Trinityscrew Actually, I don’t see ANTIFA or BLM doing either of these things. ANTIFA is a fictionalized villain that many people have made up. Any person of reason is most likely anti fascist. It does not mean that there is an actual organization by that name. Fictional Boogie Man, created by people who want to alarm other people, so that they can keep them compliant.
@TexterTusher@Trinityscrew is that fn why they’re carrying Confederate flags, Nazi flags & American flags, while wearing fn MAGA [My Ass Got Arrested] base-ball caps!! That plus, I didn’t read where he mentioned any violence, etc. If you wanna get politically ri(dic)ulus then, just, Please, go to Faux [Entertainment] News,…or just go!!
Stocking up because after the Pandemic they can still be used to rob convenience stores. Clerks think your just some germophobe and not an armed robber.
I’m on the fence on this one. I’m generally not a ‘prepper’ in any sense, but I bought a bunch of masks (surgical and N95) back in 2005 when H1N1 was first considered a possible pandemic. We dodged that bullet, but I kept the masks tucked away for craft projects (and they came in super handy for the boys helping both of my boys complete their Eagle Scout projects, lol!). I still had 100-150 left over as of 2020.
So when masks became impossible to come by last March, I gave all that I could spare to my health care worker friends (who were in desperate need) and my family. I was so thankful that I had tucked them away and they wound up lasting until fabric masks and plain surgical masks were widely available again. I don’t believe there is really an expiration date if they are unopened (other than the elastic possibly getting old).
Unfortunately, I believe we will return to a place of complacency and if another (possibly worse) bug comes down the pike, we will likely be in another shortage situation again. I was so thankful to have some for us plus extra to give to those who truly needed them.
They don’t take up much space and I guess (as Adam Sandler said in Jack and Jill) “It’s better to have them and not need them then need them and not have them!” I already have about 60 of these from past Meh offerings.
The only question is will they be even cheaper in a month or 2?
Will you guys stop selling masks for the millionth time, never have we the people wanted to use them and I want to spend my money on something else useless here(;
going to return to in classroom training soon. Glad to have these. Most masks just protect others fro my snotty expulsions. These will also protect me from their slimy exhalations
Don’t buy these unless you have to. Let The price gougers get overstocked with these and soon there will be a big fire sale selling at dirt cheap prices. Few weeks ago I bought 100 kn95 at $40. I should have waited.
First masks I bought from China were KN95 and cost about 4.50 a piece but I loved them as the had two elastic loops around the back of my head. Hated the ear loops as they kept pulling my hearing aids out and they didn’t fit tight enough.
Finally bit the bullet and bought some certified N95 masks from Costco on sale for about $ 270 for 100 of them. Had the double loops around the back of my head and were solid so they didn’t go in an out as I breathed and fit very snug. Better than contracting Covid.

I am so tired of this meh. We all have cloth masks by now. Anyone who needs these can overproduce them.
Still waiting on purple.
Would you kindly suggest how we can use these in arts & crafts projects? Because we all have a metric-fuckton of them for breathing purposes from the last 100 mehs you sold these on.
@guybrush01, if you pick up dog poop as a hobbie you can don these on so you can breath a little easier. With cat poop, you may wanna wear 2! If you refinish autos as an art, or as a craft then you might wanna wear 1 when sanding the
vehicle with a DA, or a Jitterbug [I use to prefer wet-sanding the auto by hand]. Also, some auto body men do wear particle masks to spray prime an auto body part. Now, simply woodworking for fun,…
@1DisabledWarVet @guybrush01 Vet listed a few ways I use PPE in addition to Covid protection.
As a maker, I have been buying and using N95 masks since the 1990s.
I wear disposable masks when cleaning our cats’ litter boxes. When a 40 pound container says 99% dust free, that means it has up to 0.4 pounds of dust. That’s a lot of dust. I discard the masks after one use because the masks smell like used kitty litter. Kitty litter makers add chemicals to mask the smells of cat poop and pee. Since I clean the litter boxes I associate the stench of those chemicals with used kitty litter.
I do have hobbies that involve sanding, and I do enjoy working with wood. I have found that the face shields do a reasonable job of keeping stuff out of my eyes.
On a personal note, thank you for your service. I must admit that despite the mixed capitalization in the ID, I see it and think 1 dimensional dwarf, rather than an individual disabled veteran. This probably just demonstrates the disabilities in my mind.
@guybrush01 @hamjudo, you can consider me a bit senile, hamjudo, since I didn’t quite understand what you meant about "capitalization’, or a ‘1 dimensional dwarf’.
I was decorated, but I don’t talk about that except to another vet, in private. I ETSd in 1971, but anyone can despute any & all of this, yet either way, I am not a One Dimensional Dwarf,… maybe a 3, but that’s another story & this one is getting too too long!!

@blaineg @Zaratexas And I didn’t even know Covid was flammable.
@blaineg @Zaratexas That’s impressive!
Whoaaa! It’s good news for the world, if not the makers of masks, that these things are now for sale three for a dollar.
The stores around here are discounting the gallon jugs of hand sanitizer by 90%… what used be be $30-$40 is now less than $4.
@TexterTusher @Trinityscrew Funny, only one group rioted and attempted to assassinate elected officials, and it wasn’t either of the two you just mentioned.
@Trinityscrew Question all that you want.
@TexterTusher @Trinityscrew is that fn why they’re carrying Confederate flags, Nazi flags & American flags, while wearing fn MAGA [My Ass Got Arrested] base-ball caps!! That plus, I didn’t read where he mentioned any violence, etc. If you wanna get politically ri(dic)ulus then, just, Please, go to
Faux [Entertainment] News,…or just go!!
Nope. Not without an actual manufacturer’s name. Same problem two weeks ago- no way to verify if these are on the FDA’s naughty or nice lists…
Geez…what is this…we see masks every damn week it seems. I get mine free at about every effin store I walk into
Only armbrust surgical masks are 98% efficacy and every part is USA made. And they will not slide off your nose. I give them to all my friends.
@vastomers there is no way any surgical mask is 98% effective, does not matter who makes it.
Stocking up because after the Pandemic they can still be used to rob convenience stores. Clerks think your just some germophobe and not an armed robber.
Short version: to hoard or not to hoard
They don’t take up much space and I guess (as Adam Sandler said in Jack and Jill) “It’s better to have them and not need them then need them and not have them!”
I already have about 60 of these from past Meh offerings.
The only question is will they be even cheaper in a month or 2?
Will you guys stop selling masks for the millionth time, never have we the people wanted to use them and I want to spend my money on something else useless here(;
@jaytill23 Speak for yourself: “we the people” never elected you our spokesperson.
@jaytill23 @phaedrusnyc We the people want more pocket knives. Preferably assisted opening.
@blaineg @jaytill23 @phaedrusnyc “Weeeee,” the people said as they went down the zipline.
@blaineg @jaytill23 @OnionSoup @phaedrusnyc
“Weeee”, said the child when the parent asked “What do you want to do now?”.
going to return to in classroom training soon.
