Westek 16" Dimmable LED Light Bar

  • Sturdy 16" light strips that are tuck away nicely under cabinets and whatnot, and look decent when they’re out in the open, too
  • Full-range dimmer switch takes you from 0 to 334 lumens and anywhere in between
  • Easy to install: plug 'em in, nail 'em up, rub it down, oh nooo! (note: this product has been endorsed by neither Bell, Biv, nor DeVoe)
  • Buy up to six bars for six times the lighting ecstasy
  • Or, if you’ve already bought some of these from us or someone else, string 20 together for insane strip-lighting decadence
  • Model: LPBD16KBCC (the L and B could be for “light” and “bar” except there’s a mysterious P in between; D for “dimmable” and 16 inches, got that; maybe the K or B is for “black”; and the CC, who knows? so at least four of these ten characters don’t obviously stand for anything)

Not as boring as we thought!

We’re used to guessing wrong about how exciting a given product can be. But we’re usually pretty confident we know how boring something is. It’s taken you guys to show us we don’t even know that much.

Last December 21, when last we saw these Westek 16" Dimmable Light Bars, our story was all about how our Christmas excitement was over. We were getting back to the boring stuff with these solidly built, useful, affordable, dimmable 16" light bars.

We were just trying to set the right expectations. As we’ve blathered about before, appropriate expectations are the key to happiness. We were assuming these highly functional light bars would be about as exciting as solitaire tic-tac-toe.

You disagreed. Not only did we move over 1,400 of them - on December 21, might we add, while the meatspace Christmas retail season was in full jingle- but the comments, dear Lord, the comments.

We count 20 exclamation points on that one page. @Pufferfishy puffed, “OK - these are AWESOME… Yay meh!” Pufferfishy was a little more measured in a slightly later review, but still concluded “Overall I’m pleased.” @adamselby gushed, “I’ve been waiting for this to come back! Perfect light for my needs!”

OK, it’s not the most effusive explosion of enthusiasm we’ve ever seen. But it overwhelmed our expectations (that word again). Coming just as we were hiding our strip light under a bushel, all those exclamation points took us by surprise.

So here they are again. We hope they’re still as exciting to you guys as they seemed a month back. But we don’t, you know, expect them to be.
