I get it and have for years. It is good to very good (never been disappointed by an issue) and can be inspiring, though it mostly just reminds me of all the ideas I have for cool projects but rarely implement.
I won’t swear to it, but IIRC I pay about $20/year for it without any special deals, or at least none other than “Oh? is it time to renew that already? Ok…” It is certainly less than $25/year. (Used to be four issues per year and now is six.)
I’ve subscribed since issue 1 and went to the second Maker Faire in, I think, 2006. It has changed over the years. It used to be more about makers now is more about making. I don’t have time these days to make anything (other than music) or read about things I don’t have time to make so just this week I sadly let my subscription lapse.
It’s definitely worth plopping down twenty bucks for a year’s subscription. If you subscribe directly through them and set it to auto-renew you save $5/year. And I think you get an electronic edition too.
@SSteve Yeah, that’s the deal I get ($25/year but it auto-renews so I get $5 off). I think all of them come with the digital and print versions. I have digital copies of all the issues and will one day toss the paper ones (or else my kids will).
I’ve been to World Maker Faire the last five (or six? maybe seven???) years and for a couple of them I got the “Weekend adult pass, with a year’s subscription to Make” which made Make only $15/year. But then one year my subscription got wider instead of longer and it took an actual phone conversation with a nice woman to squeeze the one year of two copies into two years of one. I had her set up the auto-renew and haven’t cared about that last $5 since (they even figured out my CC’s new expiration date by themselves).
I would greatly appreciate it.
@spcial_snwflake OK, but you’re completing at least one project this summer.
I used to get it. It is interesting. I don’t make enough things.
@CaptAmehrican Thanks!

@baqui63 Thanks- someone said it had been on sale for $15 but I want a couple of issues before summer.

@SSteve Thanks- I ordered two years. Hopefully I’ll find a few projects I can handle.
