Cutting Back

Sometimes, the yard gets a bit disheveled and overgrown. So you go out and mow, and afterward, it looks… uhh… actually still a bit disheveled and overgrown.

It’s because the grass isn’t the only thing that you need to tend. You also gotta weed the beds. And wack the weeds that pop up around the deck. And trim the hedges and the various shrubs.

That’s a big one.

After all, shrubs and hedges basically exist to be orderly. At least, somewhat. They don’t have to be perfect, but if they get all wonky and overgrown, it’s, like, what’s the point? Might as well just let a bunch of scrub trees grow instead.

That’s why, if your hedges and/or shrubs are getting a little shaggy, you have no choice but to get out the scissors and clippers and shears and get to work. It could take hours and a good eye to get it just right.

Unless, of course, you’ve got one of these.

What is it? A little handheld trimmer for trimming, you guessed it, hedges or shrubs, or whatever needs cutting back. It comes with an 8-inch mini trimmer blade that’ll be great for shaping bushes, and also a 4-inch grass cutter shears for a closer cut. Or for touching up places you missed in the yard. Or for that big clump of grass at the base of the shepherd’s hook where your hummingbird feeder hangs, the one that starts to look like a tuft of unbecoming ear hair that you want to cut but can’t due to its proximity to the deck, so it just stays there, mow after mow, a blemish on your otherwise beautiful expanse of the outdoors.

You know. Hypothetically speaking, we mean.

And maybe the nicest part: it’s battery powered, and it comes with a super fast charger for said battery. So you don’t get all gas-smelly when you go out to give the yard a quick shape-up.

Our point is: if you’ve got a yard, you should probably get one of these. It’s just $40 (as opposed to 80+ on Amazon), and there’s almost no chance you won’t find a use for it.
