Price Slashing 101

Products don’t just magically show up on our doorstep, flashing us their huge, soulful eyes from the brim of a wicker basket with a note pinned to it that reads “Please find us a good home.” This stuff appears on meh for a reason, not all of them good. So what can we do to convince you to buy something other people have already passed on? By making them implausibly cheap, of course! Let’s dive into the magic that goes into our pricing strategy.

1. Everyone hates a Monster
This particular Monster has good products but tends to get pushy and pricey. Hell, they try to warn you with their name. On a scale of “NOT going to throw a daisy-picking child down a well” to “DEFINITELY GOING TO throw a daisy-picking child down a well” the word “monster” historically trends towards the affirmative.

2. The packages are a bit dinged up
Undoubtedly the result of angry villagers wielding torches and pitchforks, and one madman’s attempt to play God by reanimating a sutured corpse using the power of lightning.
But if anyone asks, they just got bumped a bit during shipping.

3. Some of them are pink
Always the best choice for electronics, you guys. No, really, kudos on this decision. I mean, who doesn’t want their laptop to look like an aroused pug.
But I dunno, maybe you know a tech-savvy child who needs a quick place to store their Percy Jackson eBooks and Selena Gomez MP3s. That’s what kids are into these days, right? We honestly have no idea.

4. They’re on meh
We get it. You’re here for a discount, and a modest discount just isn’t good enough.

5. We want them to sell out
Not unlike the orphanage that wicker basket originally showed up at, everything must go!
