Brands Are Cool

Does it matter that your food processor–or, ahem, excuse us, food chopper (??)–has the name KitchenAid printed across the front of it?

Absolutely not!

What matters is how well it chops/processes/purees/whips/mixes/et cetera And this one? It seems to chop/process/puree/whip/mix/et cetera very well.

That’s, at least, according to the Amazon reviews where it earns an impressive 4.5 out of 5, based on more than 4000 reviews. Just scroll down the page, and you’ll see all sorts of people singing its praises.

So, there you have it! It’s a KitchenAid, but what’s important is that it’s a good food… chopper.

Except, can we be real for a second: it’s also pretty cool that it says KitchenAid on it, right? And the fact that it looks stylish, like just about everything that KitchenAid makes–it’s not terrible to value that either.

Again, quality is the most important thing. You shouldn’t buy something that sucks just because a “cool company” made it. But owning a few things that work well and have big-time brand recognition isn’t a terrible thing to want either. Or, to put it differently, it’s not a crime to buy something that does what it’s supposed to do and makes guests say, “Oh, wow! Nice!”

Of course, the only problem is that usually comes at a higher cost.

Which is the beauty of this sale. You get everything: a good product, a good brand name, and a totally Hamilton-Beach-ass price.

So go ahead! Spend 40 bucks and get yourself a cool-looking, top-of-the-line brand food [deep sigh] chopper.
