iRobot Braava 375t Floor Mopping Robot

  • Uses dry cloths for dry sweeping, wet cloths for wet mopping, and never the twain shall meet
  • Works on hard floors including tile, vinyl, hardwood, laminate, and solid gold
  • Its keen robot mind navigates multiple rooms for 350 sq. ft. of wet cleaning, 1000 sq. ft. dry
  • Not seeing much about the 375t out there? That’s because it was a Costco special version of the 380t but with 6 reusable microfiber cloths instead of just 2
  • Model: Braava 375t (robots get all the good model numbers)

Take The Shoe-Rag Challenge!

They both involve moving a cloth across the floor. They both clean some amount of debris from that floor. But it’s time to settle the question once and for all: is the iRobot Braava 375t really better at cleaning hard floors than pushing a rag around underfoot? Let’s go to the tape for a blow-by-blow, wipe-by-wipe breakdown of this battle floorale!

Effectiveness: while your shoe could conceivably give as vigorous a wipe to the floor as the Braava 375t, the rounded contours of your foot make it difficult to effectively reach into corners. And unless you’re some kind of contortionist, good luck shoe-mopping under a table, let alone a couch.
Advantage: the Braava 375t.

Convenience: The Braava 375t certainly requires less physical effort, and it can run while you’re out doing something else. But it needs to recharge after 2.5 hours of mopping or 4 hours of sweeping, and it might be too loud to use at night, depending on your living arrangement. The shoe-rag method, while it takes more work, is available to you at all hours, for as many hours as you can stand.
Advantage: Draw.

Range: With the ability to sweep up to 1000 square feet or mop up to 350 square feet in a single cleaning cycle, and to cover multiple rooms, the Brava 375t is no slouch. But there’s no limit to how much turf a rag under your shoe can cover.
Advantage: A rag under your shoe.

Sustainability: Unlike the electric Braava 375t, your shoe-rag runs entirely on renewable biofuel (i.e., you).
Advantage: A rag under your shoe.

Versatility: Either method can either dry-sweep or wet-mop pretty much any hard floors.
Advantage: Draw.

Price: Not even close, even at this price. Sorry, Braava 375t.
Advantage: A rag under your shoe.

Not Being a Lazy, Juvenile Slob Who Lives a Half-Assed Life: A rag under your shoe? You cannot possibly be serious, right? What are you, 12? You’re not really considering doing that. Please tell us you’re not really considering doing that.
Advantage and overall winner: the Braava 375t.
