Cheerson CX-10 Mini Quadcopter
Our Take
- Tiny and fun and doesn’t have a camera- Pretty easy to fly and flip and frolic and cavort - Too light to do much damage to itself when it crashes- Flies for 4-8 minutes on a 15-20 minute charge, with a 120-foot control range- Model: CX-10
This is the one they didn't louse up with a camera.
Yeah, you heard us. They had a really cool, fun, weird little toy and then they had to go and stick a camera on it just like every other drone out there. Sellouts. All that video capability comes at a cost. This one’s got a longer battery life because it’s not powering a camera. And it’s lighter, so probably more maneuverable. (Not that we’ve tested that, or that we would have a video record of it even if we did.) And it’s definitely cheaper. And, and, what else?.. Oh yeah, privacy! When you fly that one with the camera, you’re flying with Big Brother! You’re helping to make the constant presence of video surveillance more ubiquitous, more normal - even more fun! You probably care about that, right? Yeah! So buy this one without the camera! Hey, maybe we should do this quadcopter thing every Monday. We could give it a hilarious title and everything! Like, let’s see… Flappy Mondays! Or, uh… Just Another Unmanned Monday! Hmm… well, we’ve got a week to figure it out.
