AOC 24" or 28" FreeSync Monitors (Refurbished)

  • Your choice of gaming monitors: A 28” 4K one or a 24” one with a 144hz refresh rate
  • The 4K one will let you play games and do work at a (much) higher resolution, if your video card can handle it
  • The 24" also has a 1ms response time, so it’s insanely responsive for fast-paced games like Overwatch
  • That one also has a VESA mount
  • Life is full of tradeoffs, it seems
  • Model: U2879VF, G2460PF (After the juvenile summer blockbuster model numbers, with their gaudy hyphens, acronyms, and underscores, it’s nice to get back to some well-crafted examples leading up to model number award season)

/R/ /U/ Serious?

Last Monday we sold this AOC 24” 144hz monitor as part of a Mehrathon, and a Reddit thread about it appeared during the brief time it was live.

Turns out gaming nerds really liked the deal. /u/irr1449 said:

I bought 2. This is a STEAL.
First of all it has a VESA mount, which is harder to find than it should be.
Once you go 144hz you can’t go back. I was gaming on a decent LG 27" 60hz display because my 144hz was in storage. For fast paced games like overwatch, it’s like night and day.

But the deal was only live for 30 minutes, meaning most of the thread’s 54 comments were like /u/M3L0NM4N’s:

I clicked the link and it took me to a vibrator, wtf?

Ahhhahahahahaha. That’s great. We didn’t know that this monitor would bring in a bunch of n00bs from Reddit, but if we had there’s no product we would rather have shown then (or trolled them with?) than the “Travel Massager.”

Yeah sure we probably missed out on hundreds of dollars in revenue by not leaving the monitor up for another half hour, but can you put a price on posts like this, from /u/CptBrian?:

What on Earth is this very odd site?

You can’t.

And then, of course, users showed up on the thread after even the vibrator had sold out, leading to gems like /u/LabyrinthConvention’s:

Damn I missed the travel massager?

And /u/PotatoPotential’s:

I keep forgetting to go to meh. Even if not an interesting item, reading the product description is usually entertaining.

Thanks for the support, PP. We know you don’t visit the site, and when you do you don’t buy the products, but it warms the cockles of our hearts that you usually find the product descriptions entertaining. Hopefully today is no exception.

We love when other sites send us traffic, especially when those sites are obscure DIY communities on Reddit (like the time we sold vacuum sealers and got tons of traffic from cannabis growers). Usually it means we sell more stuff, which is great. But sometimes it means we confuse the hell out of a bunch of strangers, and that’s even sweeter.

So welcome, those of you who have come here through the (presumably) newly created Reddit thread linking here. Would you like any sexual wellness products to go with your gaming monitor? How about some candy corn?

So far today...

  • 71244 of you visited.
  • 44% on a phone, 6% on a tablet.
  • 4753 clicked meh
  • on this deal.

And you bought...

  • 483 of these.
  • Sold out at 6:25pm ET (see more)
  • That’s $76261 total.
  • (including shipping)

Who's buying this crap?

Which items are you buying?
