Be Like Your Phone
What we are selling today are some Meh pop sockets. They are available in either white or black. Is that clear enough? Good! Now, if you don’t mind, we’d like to devote this space to a brief philosophical exercise.
What exactly are pop sockets?
They prop up your phone, you might say. Or they give you a different grip. Or they provide you with something to play with. But none of these really answer the question at hand. Because that’s what pop sockets do, not what pop sockets are. Furthermore, none of these non-definitions involve one of the defining characteristics of pop sockets, which is to say, how cool they look.
So, pop sockets are a cool-looking thing that you attach to your phone. Or, to put it differently, pop sockets are essentially a garment that your phone wears. Let’s move forward with this idea.
Now, think about all the times you’ve looked up a recipe when you’re already at the grocery store, or typed in the destination of an hours-long road trip mere moments before you put key to ignition and get on your way. These things would be impossible without smart phones.
What we’re getting at is we rely on our phones. We open up apps to find a good coffee shop, or a good beer, or a good romantic partner. We have apps that tell us how to eat healthy and exercise. We ask our phones questions, and–this is the important part–we listen to the answers.
We think we’re telling our phones what to do, but really it’s the other way around: our phones are leading us, however subtly. And now you’re shopping for a pop socket for your phone, which we’ve already established is a phone garment. But these are not just any pop sockets. They’re Meh pop sockets.
So, don’t you want to follow your phone’s example and buy Meh garments for yourself? By which we mean, shouldn’t you be shopping on Mediocritee?
