Nice place to visit, but don't drink the water.

Nothing’s grosser than some other city’s tap water. We’re not talking about socioeconomically challenged places where the water has microbial nasties floating around in it, a problem these water bottles are emphatically NOT recommended to solve. We mean perfectly nice, pleasant, hygienic locales where the tap water just tastes like ass. Or at least like ass we’re not used to.

You can do what most travelers do, and drop a chunk of your travel budget on bottle after disposable bottle of commercial water, leaving a trail of plastic debris in your wake. Or you can make these Bobble Sport Filtration Water Bottles standard travel equipment.

Each one is good for 300 uses. That’s three hundred disposable bottles you aren’t buying instead. That’s almost a year of daily water filtration, or longer if you only use them occasionally. This doesn’t have to be some scam where you get cheap bottles and pay through the nose for filters for the rest of your life, either. You can buy replacement filters, but they’ll cost as much as these bottles. So don’t. Buy six bottles right now and when you’re done with a bottle, throw it in the recycling bin and move on. Compared to disposable bottles, you’ll still be way on the good side, ecological-footprint-wise.

Stop tasting the weird flavors of Indianapolis and Miami and Dallas and Seattle. Stop overloading the recycling system with a mountain of disposable bottles. And when you’re traveling, when you need to stay hydrated the most, stop hydrating with Diet Dr. Pepper. You know who you are.
