Bounteous Banquet
A holiday like Thanksgiving can be hard for your pets. They likely endured one of two situations:
- Being sequestered (or self-sequestering) in a room in your home, overwhelmed and confused as their domicile filled with delicious smells for a parade of people who came cheerfully waltzing in without their permission…
OR
- Stuck at home alone all day (or a few days [or, worst of all, boarded]) while their owners set out without them for an extravagant meal among friends and/or family.
What a bummer, right? Of course, you can make up for it with some extra affection when your house gets back to normal or you get back to your house. You can maybe buy them a special toy, something that squeaks or is filled with nip.
But what about a meal? Don’t they deserve something celebratory to eat in this, the season of celebration via reckless calorie intake?
Now, in my own personal experience, this is easier with dogs. You can just give your pup some canine-safe table scraps as long as you’re willing to deal with the resultant off-gassing.
But cats are different (again, in my experience). Every cat I’ve ever had has enjoyed a tiny thread of string cheese now and then or a little piece of shredded chicken, maybe. And they’ve sought out dairy products like moths to a light. But they turn their nose up at plenty of stuff. And, moreover, their tummies can be very sensitive. You can’t just introduce human food into their diet and expect nothing more than an unpleasant toot or two.
The point here? If you want to give your cats something special, maybe make sure it’s fit for cats to eat. Like this wet food. It’s 16 6-ounce cans of the good stuff (like, it usually runs for about twice this much) that your cats will love. Or, at least, you can hope. They are cats after all. There’s no telling how they’ll react.
So get it, and give your cat their own little feast during the holidays!
