This is beyond meh, this is terrible. Order placed on 11/21. Not shipped until 11/24. Due to arrive on 12/2. Thanks Meh.com because I had it delivered to another address because I wain't going to be home. But it looks like I can PACK, DRIVE 7 HOURS, VISIT WITH FAMILY, AND DRIVE HOME 7 HOURS and be home 3 days before my package arrives IN THE WRONG PLACE. This is WAY PAST MEH, this is......... $5 for shipping? And you charged my card 4 DAYS before it was shipped? I'm a lawyer and this smells rank. Definitely not like Woot, not even at all like Amazon. I won't be ordering again. EVER. And I want my VMP $5 REFUNDED, and don't THINK I'm going to pay for shipping. You should be paying me because now on 12/2 or God knows when, my family will have to ship my package back to me. You should have checked to see if ridiculous.com was available. Happy Thanksgiving.
@@TwistedLisa If you are truly the guys who started Woot, $110 MILLION must have made you greedy. $5 for crap shipping. Now it's just thievery. I'll stick to my Prime account. Excellent service, fast FREE shipping, AND I get streaming video and music.
@TwistedLisa 11/21 was a Friday. According to you, your order was shipped the very next business day. And your card was charged when you placed the order (which was NOT four days before it shipped, you hadn't even ordered yet). NO ONE is going to ship an order before you've been charged, not even Amazon. That's how shopping works. It sucks that your purchase is going to arrive out of town after you've left, but it's going to the address that you gave them. It has been made pretty clear here that everything ships smartpost which is slow and unpredictable. Throw around being a lawyer all you want, but if you read anything here before you bought, you'd know there is nothing in your complaint that says Meh has not fulfilled their promises- including $5 crap shipping
@TwistedLisa If you're a lawyer you should know to read EVERYTHING. In particular, the FAQ's which explain basically all you need to know about the shipping policies. (I'm including the relevant sections below.) Yes, just like woot it's $5 shipping for everything. That's every single type of item regardless of size or weight. Funny, I never heard someone complain when they ordered a 200 lb item that $5 was obviously not enough to cover the cost of shipping. You see, it all balances out in the end. Don't forget, the costs involved with shipping include the actual packaging materials and the involved labor. Now stop your incessant whining and realize there are more important things in the world to worry about than the fact that your order for something you probably didn't really need in the first place (but purchased because it was an awesome deal) is taking a bit longer than you expected. By the way, there's nothing more useless and annoying than someone exclaiming, "I'm a lawyer," and expecting others to bow down to you. Now be a good little lawyer and read...
Q: How much is shipping? How will it be shipped? Can I pay to expedite it?
A: Shipping’s always $5, and free for VMP members (see below). So yeah, we’re going to ship it the slowest and cheapest way we can possibly find. Usually that’s Smartpost or Surepost, which starts with FedEx or UPS and ends with the post office. It’ll probably be 2 weeks before you get it. And no you can’t get it any faster.
Q: Ok, fine, it's slow. But when will it be shipped? And how can I track it?
A: We wait until the day after the event ends to print the shipping labels, and sometimes if it's busy it can be two or three days (not counting weekends, because we don't ship on weekends). Once it ships, we'll throw a tracking number on your orders page at https://meh.com/orders (Enough people have asked for a tracking email that we'll probably do that, but we're not there yet.)
@TwistedLisa Really, if Woot!/Amazon is really the experience you prefer, then yeah, you should probably just stick to your prime membership. If, however, you'd like a place to hang out online with cool people, watch silly videos, and find a few good deals, then by all means take a breath, lower your expectations, calm your shit, and pull up a chair
@TwistedLisa No offense, but holy crap you're expectations are way out of line. If you need something by a specific date, you need to pay for expedited shipping. I don't care where you're ordering from. You placed an order and it was shipped the very next business day. That's actually pretty excellent.
@TwistedLisa No, apparently you ordered a BEM speaker that cost you less than half the price of what it's selling for on Amazon. Factor that into your grievance counselor...
@TwistedLisa Hey, forgot to tell you, just have your family refuse delivery and your order will be refunded when it gets back to meh's warehouse. Then you can enjoy your holidays and stop losing your mind and going all CAPSLOCK on Thanksgiving.
@TwistedLisa Yeah, it's definitely not like Woot here. If it was Woot, it probably wouldn't have shipped out at all yet, no one would've acknowledged you, and CS would cut and paste a "canned" response that's unrelated to your inquiry. So by all means, feel free to keep shopping there.
@narfcake exp: had an issu with fedex on a woot order well Woot started it. I don't think they any of the messages I sent and stopped responding at all. they told me to do things that I had sent in the message as already having done!!!! (that and no reaction to the fact the fedex rerouted my package to an unknown address where the thefts there kept it.
@Foxborn To their credit, at least it was sent out. I had one order of randoms NOT even ship out for 5 weeks, and I think it only finally happened after a mod escalated the issue, as CS was unresponsive.
@TwistedLisaMeh.com is much better shopping place than woot or Amazon. I had a lot of good time here, and - what's best - I didn't spent a penny on this site. Even if the deals here are mediocre, the people - the staff, the mehricans, the octopussy - are outstanding.
@TwistedLisa wait wait wait, you're upset you ordered on a Friday and the item didn't ship until Monday, the next business day? Lolol. lololol. el o el. Girl lemme break it down for you, YOU CRAY.
Have you clicked on the "support" link at the bottom of the home page? Have you gone to the orders page and clicked on the "I need help with this" button? Have you submitted an email to halp@meh.com?
@TwistedLisa You made it sound like there is "Zero customer service" according to the subject of this topc. You had multiple ways of contacting customer service and they did respond to you so it's not zero as you stated.
On time, I contacted meh's customer service, they basically said that it sucks to suck...sounded about right. Not the ideal answer, but it was the expected answer.
@TwistedLisa Dont get me wrong here, i love meh and ive had dozens of transactions with them in a very positive manner. But i do understand that things are super busy and chaotic over there and i understand that im not always gonna get exactly what i want.
I had a phony tracking number. And it wasn't phony at all, it had been replaced. Maybe the same thing happened to you. Go to https://www.fedex.com/fedextracking/. If you haven't signed up for an account there, sign up for an account. Then go to that link. And your Fedex shipments should show.
Like I said, I had a tracking number that wasn't working, but there was another number I hadn't gotten notification on. That one worked.
@TwistedLisa Did you happen to get two tracking links? Some people have found their order came with two tracking numbers, and only one was actually valid. Otherwise, support is running much more mediocre than usual, and with any luck, should better by Monday (this being a holiday week and all).
@dashcloud YOu get two tracking numbers because first it starts out with fed ex and then it finishes with the post office. Of course it can sit there for 5+ days from label printed and fed ex notified until something actually starts to show that is is moving. If you figure 2-3 weeks from order to delivery then that is more likely to match reality at its worst. At its best maybe 1.5-2 weeks.
@Kidsandliz No, some orders have gotten two separate tracking numbers. A second one appeared for my TOCC cables days after I'd received them. @MEHcus confirmed it was just a glitch. But it's confusing and someone could look at the wrong number, especially if they're on the mobile site, which only displays one number.
For Smartpost, FedEx and USPS use the same tracking number. You don't get a second number for that. And delivery timelines will vary by location, really, the distance from the shipping point. People in Texas sometimes get packages in two days, people a thousand miles away often wait 10 days or so.
@cengland0 I've initiated callbacks from Amazon before. Overseas, but they were helpful in getting the return process started AND a cross-shipment initiated. I suppose that's why folks have such expectations of CS. On the flip side, I'm sadly used to the customer disservice by Woot, so my expectations are set very low.
TL;DR Scary-ranting-lawyer, shops without reading. Blames Meh for not delivering in a few days 'like Amazon'. Mehcus replies quickly on holiday. Happy Thanksgiving!
@mehjohnson Wednesday was not a holiday. But fine, give them your money, they don't care.
NOV 27, 2014 | 08:41AM CST Marcus Kirksey replied: Sorry you feel that way. There are tons of internet homes out there and it’s possible that little ole meh may not be the one for you. We wish you the best of luck in finding the one that fits you just right.
Please let us know if your package doesn’t arrive so we can help you track it down.
@Ignorant Me too! As someone who was a customer service manager for many years, it's friggin amazing to see people able to give REAL responses. God how there were times I wished I could have given responses like this. Sometimes, there are people who just can't be made happy and it's gotta be nice to be able to tell them that.
@Bingo after having worked at a hotel I so know what you mean. I at least had the advantage of if they pissed me off I didn't feel like I really had to help them and they were SOL. be nice and I went out of my way to help
@mehjohnson You workers are just despicable. Calling a customer a scary ranting lawer is horrible. How many people have you delt with like her? Like a million. Did you call them names? I am sure not. If I were being called names by customer service I would sue them till they cry!
@narfcake Oh, yeah, hey, look at that. Right next to @mehjohnson's name there are a couple of letters....oh, yeah VMP. Which people who have VMP memberships have next to their names (funny, I don't see that by twistedlisa's name....which would kind of lead one to believe she's not really a VMP member....).Meh employees have their own little designation to let us all know that they are special and work at meh. Oh, and FYI, the K next to mine means I was here from the beginning, during the kickstarter process.
@narfcake No, to you, in a kind of way where the eavesdropper overhears what everybody already knows. And then there's that dear in the headlights moment when the troll realizes it's not playing with a bunch of amatures.
@narfcake@lisaviolet Wow... I see this thread blew up since I quit it on turkey morning. (Not cold turkey?) @HateMeh -In case you didn't figure it out (are you related to Twisted whatever?) I do not work for meh. I have delt with many lawer like her. I have called them names. I am despicable. That is horrible that you want to make me cry.
@Cinoclav This is what got me: "This is beyond meh, this is terrible. Order placed on 11/21. Not shipped until 11/24. " -- A person who complains about their order not being shipped until the next business day is either legitimately insane, or a super troll. I am attracted to both.
@Cinoclav it is spelled the right way, right way for me. You misspelled your name, I believe it's "Clavicle" sheesh...the assumptions around this place. Or is it CincoLav, in which case it would be Cinco DE Banos...
@HateMeh Says the person who wrote, "cant." Actually, single quotation marks are perfectly acceptable, though they're more commonly used in British English. By the way, I think the fact that @JamicanBadMan and @HateMeh both showed up around the same time as supporters of @TwistedLisa makes it rather obvious that it's all one big joke.
@HateMeh Just make sure it is powdered milk, as the shipping seems to be sub-par. But hey, not everyone is amazon!! this is why so many small, cool communities don't last. I have received strange tracking numbers in the past that when tracked, showed it was delivered in California in 2004? The other thing to consider is the U.S.Post Office was recently hacked (as has every other large business...) so, I don't think it was wrong to try to follow up with where her order is. ?
People out there, Dont be rude to Lisa. All she is doing is saying the customer service was raised in a barn and the shipments must come from Antartica. Stop being rude to her please.
It's really nice to participate in a commerce website's forum, where flame wars are allowed to burn. I love this place! It's so grown up! No censorship is a nice change.
@Thumperchick It's genuine. I've been in too many forums where the control was so tight, disagreement with one another was almost nil. I really do love this place. Best forum ever!
@PurplePawprints As long as trolls are fed, they will troll. I think calling for a ban is just a bummer. It's just a thread, don't read it if it's bugging you so much? The day we ask for moderation is the day we start getting it, and hating it.
@Thumperchick True. I've never been good at ignoring things (not reading) but that's my own problem. I don't really want moderation, I just hate trolls that aren't Irk.
I've never had trouble contacting meh support, including the time i accidentally shipped a package to the wrong address, they were able to fix it the next day. Keep up the good work guys.
@TwistedLisa@HateMeh If you're still here, hopefully I can sum up what everyone has been saying in the most kind way possible. 1) Whatever you ordered, you got a really good, killer, awesome deal on it. Do you know how they make these really awesome killer deals? They cut corners where they can, for example, by using very slow shipping services and by not having a phone number to call. For a majority of users on this website, slower shipping speeds and no phone number are a reasonable tradeoff in exchange for really cheap stuff. 2) The FAQ mentions how slow shipping is. Sorry it isn't Amazon like you're used to, unfortunately that's how this website operates. 3) Your order shipped next business day. That's standard. UPS and FedEx do not pick up packages on weekends for most retailers. You cannot go to UPS or FedEx and ship something same day on a Saturday or Sunday and neither can Meh. 4) Finally - based on your expectations, this website likely isn't for you. It's not meant to be like Amazon. The point of this website is closeout, wholesale, discount deals. If you expect things to ship out on weekends and be to your house in two days, you will need to visit Amazon and pay the premium for that.
@meh Yes, I mean defending Meh against her idiocy. Without her trolling, we wouldn't have all come together like this today. It reminded me to be thankful for the Meh community today.
@Thumperchick I mostly ignored most of this thread. This appears to be its hidden treasure. Thank you (and everyone else I'm too damned lazy to tag, but I think you're the MVP here).
If @twistedlisa is just a meh employee trolling, it was funny.
If she (he? it?) is actually seriously bitching about the 11/21 order with an 11/24 ship date (btw, this was the item: https://meh.com/deals/bem-bluetooth-speaker) well, then lisa is going to find life so totally disappointing that she should probably just jump off this coil right now.
This is the best thread ever. You're the best community of silly internet people on the...internet of silly people? I don't know. I'm full of turkey and food-shame right now.
It is visible in this thread how the Meh community slowly consumed more and more alcohol as the thread went on and Thanksgiving further progressed.
Sure, at the start of Thanksgiving, you tried to reason with Lisa, your in-law. You tried logic. You tried to be calm and sensible. But Lisa wouldn't have it. Lisa started it first. By the end of the dinner, everyone was just yelling FUCK YOU and nobody knew why anymore.
@2many2no Exactly!! No incentive to stick around and get tired of each other. put your name in, chat while waiting, sit down, order, stuff face, pay, hug each other and leave. Family harmony preserved, no resentment over who took the best leftovers.
If nobody else is going to say it, I will. I don't think @TwistedLisa is that out-of-line here. I get that Meh has a whole mediocre shtick that they have to maintain, and I know they are very upfront about stuff being shipped via FedEx SmartPost. With that said though, Dec 2 is 12 days after the order was placed and its like nine days after the order was shipped. That's almost twice the time it takes Fed-Ex to deliver a package via their cheap ground service from New York to Hawaii. Seriously, Meh could probably have paid a hobo 5 bucks to kick her package down the road from their office in Texas to her house in what I can only guess is in Alaska and probably have gotten it there in the same amount of time in about the same condition. I'm not saying that Meh customer support could (or should) do anything about a 15 dollar speaker taking a little long to ship, but I think an email that showed a little compassion beyond "hey sucks to be you, don't let the door hit you in the ass on the way out!" would go a long way in promoting the growth that @snapster has been trying to achieve here. I mean, its funny to bust on angry customers in the forums, but I have a feeling it will make the forums into a pretty lonely place in the long run.
@neuromancer It was ordered Friday and shipped out the next business day (Monday). It's arriving a week later... 7 days when you factor in the Thanksgiving federal holiday. I don't see what's so unreasonable about that for cheap shipping.
@neuromancer thank you. I just wanted that new electronic to smell (better than new car to me) I'm pretty sure I saw that hobo with my package at rest stop 62 on my way to visit family! I should have given him a lift! Honestly, the package was listed as checking in 25 miles from my house on the 25th only a 7 hour drive to the final destination. The complete shipment was only from TX to SC. But I find it fascinating that people here enjoy being treated badly after giving these people money. I don't.
@neuromancer I have always lived by the "you catch more flies with honey than vinegar" rule, and it has ever me pretty well. That said, I went back and reread the original post. It was fine from the "please help me" perspective til she threw in the "phony" adjective, but one meh word choice doesn't sink her ship. Her followup post was a raging rant in all ways, and that is where I thought she crossed the line. If she was my customer, I lost all interest in pleasing her, and would want to just make her disappear. No desire to go the extra mile and keep her as a customer after that. She is a lost cause, and I would just pop some popcorn and watch the ensuing hilarity unfold. Compare the community response on this thread to the bland "i have VMP issues" threads.
@TwistedLisa I think you're missing most peoples point. Most people don't think you were treated badly. I don't. A company taking an order and shipping it the very next day isn't treating you badly. After it ships, it's out of their hands. Even then most would say you got excellent service in that it went 3/4 across the country in a week even with one of the biggest holidays of the year. That's damn good service.
@TwistedLisa Plus I still stand by my earlier comment that the root of this issue is your own making - if you need something by a specific date then you need to pay for expedited shipping to make sure that happens. Don't set yourself up for failure by hoping everything works out. Sure you may often not have a problem but it's risky and if/when it doesn't work out it's going to be a big hassle for you.
@twistedlisa- I live about 6 or 7 hours from Dallas and I think it has taken 2 weeks for stuff to get here on occasion (not that I have ordered that much though - too broke, just christmas and birthday presents). Sure I'd love things to get here faster as I could have probably walked that distance in 2 weeks, but even more I'd rather not pay higher postage rates. The target customer here is the people who are broke, cheap, or otherwise willing to trade off low cost for speed (and at times quality, latest model…). That being said, could meh think though when they sell certain things? Yes - that turkey roaster I bet didn't get to some houses prior to thanksgiving. Someone posted they got it the night before so maybe they should have offered it a week sooner… but then again people have been warned in the info about shipping and people can alway vote with their feet/wallets… if there aren't enough of us out there in the target market then meh will either have to change their business model or otherwise make some changes in order not to go out of business… that, however, is in meh's control, not ours and we either shop here knowing the constraints or don't… free country.
@Pamtha If i was an upset customer and I received the email TwistedLisa recieved, i would probably have the same response she did. You can justify the shitty responses in this thread if you want, but even if justified don't bode well for the long term health of this "project".
@neuromancer I would agree with you. Meh can joke all they want about being "meh" but really that shouldn't include customer service. Tongue in check on the forums by employees, sure, based on the tone of the forums, but when actually dealing with customer service issues..,. that needs to be un-meh in the responses. Can they make everything "right" probably not, but respect needs to be there. Fortunately I have had only good experiences with customer service - slow yes, but my issues have been addressed respectfully.
@mikey I don't think Meh's shipping was totally off base, I'm just saying that a new customer surprised (and upset) by it is not unreasonable. I think if Meh customer support (nad the forum members) explained it in the same manner you did, there wouldn't be a problem. Marcus's email instead said "If it never arrives please let us know, and in the meantime feel free to shop elsewhere." I think thats a real shitty response. The forum members piling on with the "fuck you" gifs is even shittier. Ive been lurking here since the launch, and I generally like the community atmosphere, but this thread is less community and more mob mentality. I feel more ashamed than meh.
I guess the other thing I don't like is people flaming someone else. Sure their expectations may be too high for what shipping is advertised to be around here and clearly they hadn't read the shipping info (that being said how many of us do on most sites?), but I guess I see a difference between joking around about stuff, humor and being mean to someone. It is the "mean" I don't think any forum needs. And yes the fuck you gifs were hilarious in and of themselves as gifs, just not when used in a flaming context.
@neuromancer Gotcha. It seemed as if you were lamenting that the shipping speed was unreasonably slow with the whole hobo analogy. Still reads that way to me, but maybe it's just phrasing, as the kids say. Without seeing the actual thread, I can't really make any sort of judgment on CS's response. What I did see posted seemed to be sent after the angry, entitled rant, in which case it was an entirely polite response in my opinion. As far as other users, yeah... angry entitlement over your own incorrect assumptions and expectations is going to draw a visceral response from The Internet. Them's the breaks.
@neuromancer The kicker for me was the tone of that whole rant. A glitchy tracking number is a legitimate concern, but nothing else in there was. Every adult who has ever mailed anything knows that sometimes it's gonna go slower than you'd like, but that's in the hands of the delivery service, not the sender. Going on a rant because Meh shipped it the next business day to the address she gave them in the manner they said they would is completely irrational. Emailing them and saying "man this sucks, is there anything we can do about it?" would be totally justified, but given that Marcus' email starts with "Sorry you feel that way," I am inclined to believe that he got a similar tantrum we did here. That would totally justify his response of "We'll make sure you get your thing you paid for, but let's not go through this again." She obviously was able to get a good tracking number or she wouldn't have known it was arriving late.
@neuromancer I don't know if you caught this from the beginning, but several forum members did try to help her politely when it was just the original post. @Cengland0 gave her several options for getting help with her order and she replied back, "duh." Justified or not, I am not a fan of being rude (on either side) and agree that some of the responses here were just as jerky as the original rant. That being said, as much as I'd like to believe we're different here, this is the internet and you have to expect that when you post that kind of thing.
@Kleineleh From a customer service perspective, Marcus email is polite but literally the worst two things you can say to a customer. "I'm sorry you feel that way" is both dismissive and condescending and "Maybe our site is not for you" chases them out the door. Customer service is about making the customer feel heard. Imagine how different the conversation would be if Marcus' response instead was "man this sucks, is there anything we can do about it?" Even if there was nothing he could actually do, then maybe he could say something like "I'll suggest we find a way to make it clear how slow SmartPost shipping can be, maybe with a bigger disclaimer in the check-out. Something like that could not only have changed a four-page post full of vitriol and "fuck you" gifs, to a retained customer and future business. All I'm saying.
@neuromancer Sure, I get that and I agree in general. What I'm saying is we don't know what else happened before that email. There was obviously more communication before that because she was able to get accurate tracking information. Yes, in customer service your job is to make the customer happy to retain their business, but sometimes customers just refuse to be happy and you have to say "your money is not worth this headache, here's directions to the nearest Best Buy." Considering the way things played out here, and that she refused to be satisfied by anything other than "you are totally right, this place sucks," that seems totally plausible and is completely justified in my book
@neuromancer I tried helping. Then there was the rant. I'm sixty-one years old and one of the things I learned about fifty-nine years ago is tantrums are not the way to go if you want to get your way. And for someone who claims to be a lawyer to throw a tantrum as twistedlisa did, well...it's open season for the silliness to begin. Was CS out of line? I can't say. If she was this nasty here, who knows how big of a tizzy she'd worked herself into before contacting them. One of my jobs used to be answering phones and when someone got too rude, we were well within our rights to hang up on them. Just because you're CS doesn't mean that it's your job to have heaps of vitriol dumped on you.
@neuromancer And there's nothing wrong with that. You have a soft heart and are more kind than others. And that's your strength and probably what your friends and family love most about you. In the end, it's your choice.
@neuromancer I understand your point, but really - you didn't read the email she sent them. After seeing her responses in this thread, I have no doubt that she railed at them in her original email. Reading the FAQ before you order form a new online retailer should be common practice and if you don't check it out, then you did put yourself in the quandary. Not everyone is going to want to deal with or will appreciate the overall attitude of meh and mediocre, that's fine. They don't have to be here. The reason some people tolerate it who usually wouldn't? The prices. So you don't get both, at least not here. They're pretty up front about that. Standing outside of an ice cream shop screaming that they don't have pizza is an exercise in futility, just as yelling here that meh did exactly what they said they would do.
@neuromancer Also, there are 6 business days from her order to the estimated delivery. That's well within standard shipping times. It's also much faster than meh usually is. Her reaction is overkill on every level.
@neuromancer The fuck you gifs did their job - the entire tone of the thread shifted and distracted from the argument. Not one of those was aimed directly at the OP.
That is the most comprehensive collection of go fuck yourself gifs I have ever had the pleasure of encountering. A bitchy lawyer who didn't get her way. Tough kitties. Have another fuck you.
WO, I think I must have missed something? The only mention of an email from MEH that contained any message content was from @studerc, not from @TwistedLisa. To the best of my knowledge the content of the messages to her are not given here. So we don’t know if the response was worded poorly or not. We don’t know if she was treated badly or not. If I am reading the time and date correctly, the item was ordered on a Friday, shipped on Monday and the Complaint is logged in the forum at Wednesday at 9:45 PM. We don’t know when she sent in her HALP or Support emails. But we see a response from MEHcus Yesterday at 12:06 AM:. Correct me if I am wrong? Only like 2 hours later?
The bottom line is we don’t know how MEH or not the response was but there was a fairly timely response to the forum post. The absurdness of her tantrum is just outstanding! Shipping an item to a short vacation spot is well… just silly. When it is clearly stated that shipping has no guaranteed timeline? No valid complaint here. It is just some crabby traveling blues, 14 hours in a vehicle (round trip), will do that! And without tunes, for the return trip is just cruel]! Smile It is just really terrible that it is self-inflicted! Isn’t there a word for that?
Considering where things have gone in this thread, and that one of our big focuses is transparency, maybe I can shed a little more light on this situation. Here's some more information:
Lisa purchased the BEM speakers on Friday Nov 21st They were shipped on Monday the 24th.
On the 26th Lisa sent in 3 customer support requests less than 30 minutes apart, the first two were short and to the point but were just asking about tracking and the third jumped to threats of spreading how terrible our customer support is on all social media, after not receiving a response in less than 30 minutes.
Marcus responded with the following: "Hey there TwistedLisa,
I saw that you wrote in a few times but am just going to reply to this message.
I took a look at your account and found the tracking number for you (--------------- with FedEx) which shows that the package is currently en route to you and should arrive on the 2nd.
Hope that helps and let us know if you have any questions."
Finally Marcus responded with: "Hey Lisa, We thought we’d leave you with one parting thought. We aren’t a community that’s for everyone, and we are totally okay with that (as you can tell). But we are a community none the less, and everyone that stops by is a part of it. We’ve canceled your VMP membership and refunded you the cost of it. So while the shipping may have been super slow by some standards, at least it was free.
Best of luck finding the community out there that fits you just right."
Meh has no automated responses. Every email is being answered by a real person and our customer support team is willing to go above and beyond when it's called for, but I don't believe threats and bullying are something that should be catered to or rewarded. The customer is not always right.
I want everyone to feel welcomed in our community, and the first responses were legitimate attempts at help. At the same time I don't blame everyone for poking fun when someone is being (to most) unreasonable.
@JonT I'm not sure about your website servers but I sent those inquiries all day and waited ALL DAY for some response. Not getting any, I posted on the forums and miraculously got a response then. And correct me if I'm wrong, taking a box to the post office and mailing it directly all the way across the country only takes 4 days. I apologize for not expecting a company to use a system so jacked up. Cheers to you.
@TwistedLisa And while youwaited for your package, the weather across the nation has been beautiful and spring-like. No delays, no snow, none of that. And no FedXe saying there might be delays due to weather. Wait.......that's not true? Shocking!
@TwistedLisa Yes, you are very wrong. As noted in the FAQ: Q: How much is shipping? How will it be shipped? Can I pay to expedite it? A: Shipping’s always $5, and free for VMP members (see below). So yeah, we’re going to ship it the slowest and cheapest way we can possibly find. Usually that’s Smartpost or Surepost, which starts with FedEx or UPS and ends with the post office. It’ll probably be 2 weeks before you get it. And no you can’t get it any faster.
@TwistedLisa here is a quote from your original rant, "Definitely not like Woot, not even at all like Amazon." You know Meh and Woot use the same shipping right?
@Ignorant funny how I have been a loyal woot customer for 8+ years. Never been disappointed by the shipping. Don't worry, I don't think anyone will be clamoring to buy meh.com out. Cheers.
@JonT Hi Jon. If you think it's an appropriate response to an irate customer to tell them to shop elsewhere instead of taking the time to explain what the problem with their shipping was then your customer service is, at best, mediocre. And if you think it's okay for the company to encourage the piling-on that's going on in this thread then I am truly disappointed.
@neuromancer Did you read the part where they checked her tracking# and explained the shipping (there was not a shipping 'problem'). "Not blaming for poking fun" is not the same as encouraging piling-on. And some of the back and forth was between users etc and less directed at OP. Don't know why you feel it's wrong that a customer is politely invited to shop elsewhere after they hurl threats and abuse, over well-disclosed shipping policy.
@neuromancer Can you tell us what the problem with their shipping was? My take is that it shipped earlier than Meh warns buyers it might, and was on track to arrive in a reasonable time. What am I missing? Also, I think it's fine for a small independent business with limited resources to tell a high-maintenance customer who's disproportionately using those resources not to be a patron, especially if he or she has already stomped out and said "I'm never going to be a patron again!"
@TwistedLisa You may want to go back and review your woot shipping times from before it was bought by Amazon. Same story as here... The current shipping time frames have decreased under Amazon because they're now shipping from Amazon warehouses where the process is obviously much quicker. In part this is because of their multiple geographic locations. It's much more likely you're receiving orders shipped from a much closer warehouse than their 'old' location in Texas.
@Cinoclav Have they decreased though? I'd hate to see what old Woot shipping was like. My order placed on 10/03 didn't ship until 10/16 and arrived on 10/22. My order placed on 10/10 shipped 10/14 and arrived 10/18. My order placed 11/07 shipped 11/13 and arrived 11/19. If anything, Woot's shipping is a bit more mediocre than Meh's (sorry, Meh).
@mikey Earliest Woot is like what Meh is these days - most ship out within a few business days via the cheapest method available. The expanded Woot was mostly the same except when items were drop-shipped from a different location. The post-Amazon/pre-exploded Woot could've been any of the above with an added aspect of Amazon fulfillment for some things, which sped up the delivery. The exploded Woot (current) is any of the previous, except they have so many items now no one seems to have an idea where anything is coming from, hence all the complaints these days.
@mikey My experience had been that shipping times decreased dramatically. Then again, it seems like a lot of woot items I had ordered were coming from the Amazon warehouse in Allentown and traveling 60 miles south to me. Being that I've bought almost nothing besides a few shirts and bags of crap in quite a long time, it may have gone downhill once more. What narfcake said pretty much covers it.
@Cinoclav Ah, I think the issue is that I only buy shirts from Woot. The last 3 have all shipped from Carrollton, TX and the shipping has been either on par with Meh or occasionally much worse. Not that I'm complaining, I have no expectations of quick shipping with them either.
@Mavyn This is the MOST ridiculous, childish thread I have ever read. I was told by a coworker to check out this website, and I've been putting if off because the name just reeks of "we don't give a shit about you, your order or your lack of customer service". Seems like it is worse than I imagined. Honestly, I wouldn't be surprised if this whole set up was just a pack of juvenile delinquents, with stolen goods, selling out of their mommy's basement. Amazon rocks, @twistedlisa, End you don't have to worry about your package arriving on time, nor do you have to worry about a pack of children or internet trolls terrorizing you for simply inquiring about your purchase. "Run towards the light, Carol Anne" The brightside has cookies too!
@marycat67 Not sure why you directed your rant at me, but as noted above, Meh isn't for everyone. If this scenario qualifies as 'simply inquiring about your purchase', I'm going to guess that includes you. Good thing the internet is so gosh darned big.
@marycat67 Not that Meh needs me to defend them but I do have to point out. While I get where you are coming from don't lose sight of the fact that Meh: 1) Shipped exactly what she ordered the next business day 2) Shipped it exactly how they said they would 3) Never responded childishly (Us users did). Just saying. Happy Thanksgiving
Sorry I miss understood that post. I was confused as to who was talking. @mikey@neuromancer I think it is pretty apparent that the customer is pitching a fit over a problem she caused by asuming how shipping would work. My hat is off to the staff who did as well as they could. She upset herself IMO. Because she would have done the shipping differently herself dosn't make MEH wrong. @JonT explained what I had figured as much had transpired between herself and staff. She came here to gripe and threaten. She jumped in with both feet hissing and spitting, no real plea for help. When you act like that don't expect that tantrams will get you a popcicle and a "Mommy will get the bad guy" response from others. I will spell this wrong too Anyone else thinking of a certain Wanka charactor ... "Don't care how! I want it now!" Smiles
There are so many other things I should be doing, yet I can't stop reading this thread. I missed out on it yesterday (damn family taking up all my time), so I just got caught up. Keep it coming -- I am greatly entertained. I especially like the "new" users who are offended. Nice touch by the troll.
@pitamuffin Sorry to disprove your theory. But my first purchase was either late August or early September, and I've been following the site since launch. I'm hardly a new user or fake account.
@neuromancer I do have a question for you. Since you do not agree with their CS model, why not respond about the CS steps taken, not the aftermath of her hissy fit?
@Morgue I have. Both in this thread and the other one. But ultimately I think I have to come to grips with is that these forums are less a community and more of a club, and I don't think I want to be part of that club anymore. I'll probably keep my VMP until the end of the month, but I am definitely not hanging around these forums anymore.
@neuromancer If I missed it in this thread, I do sincerely apologize. I do believe that Meh has a quirky, unique approach to their CS, and it is not for everyone. That being said, the company did do it's job as far as I can tell. I am sorry that this experience has put a bad taste in your mouth. One thing I have learned the CS business is that when you bend over backwards for customers like the one that started this thread, they will never be satisfied. I do wish you the best in the future, even if it is not here.
@KDemo@neuromancer I agree that having a homogeneous hivemind is much less interesting and that people who challenge the majority help keep things level.
Thus far in my mehmber experience, I have been entertained, mystified, terrified and zehn-ified. Mostly the first two, but when I found out that my Fuku shipping number was a decoy and there was a stealth package on its way, I panicked. Too many years of watching BoC recipients of dented arcade game machines, pallets of car wax and left-handed golf clubs, I think. I too sent a query to customer service, and have had two separate responses. One was the zehn-ny reassurance from Marcus: 'Fukus come in all shapes and sizes and all kinds of random times'. The second sent me right up in the air again; I'd asked whether I needed a forklift. Marcus said 'You mean you don’t own one?'
@HateMeh Why does everyone think the Grinch and Scrooge are so awful? Did anyone follow their stories to the end? They have more Christmas spirit more than anyone on Earth!
First time I've come across this topic so Imma post somethin' in it.
I love CS here at Meh. I message them probably more than I should, but they haven't told me to shut it yet. Usually, my packages take about 5 days to start moving which is acceptable Meh for me. But knowing they ship Fedex Smartpost, I just give up waiting any after I hit the button and just let myself be surprised when something shows up at my door when I forgot I ordered something over a week ago.
Anyway, here is a gif I stole to express my content-ness for Meh CS.
After reading the responses by Meh, I say bravo. I believe in good customer service, but I don't believe companies should bend over backwards to kiss the customers ass. That kind of shit creates entitled assholes.
IMO, shipping within three days is fantastic. Maybe the shipping method is slow, but it is also cheap/free (depending on VMP membership) and if you were so worried, maybe you should have taken the time to read the FAQ first (or at least ask around because you seem to be quite familiar with Twitter and these forums).
People like you make me angry because you kill small business. I, myself, run a (very) small business and I can't tell you how many times sites like eBay force me as a seller to pretty much bend over, no matter what. I can't say much, because I choose to sell there, but I have to say that it warms my heart when I see a company not always bow down to customers, when they really did nothing wrong.
For every Meh you don't buy, I will purchase 6, as my husband also has an account :P
No it did not take a month. I think y'all are being big babies because it is taking you a month to get over this. So what they all had warm hearts in the end. Sad it cant be like that with you. Ice in your heart much?
Why the hell is it you guys (not) shipping my newegg order? I've been waiting 10 days now only to find out it's (not) being shipped from 20 minutes away.
@Ignorant Newegg turnaround is 48 hours packaging and then 4-7 bus days shipping. I got notification that the package was shipped on the 18th, UPS was notified on the 19th, and as of right now UPS hasn't even seen the package that's supposed to be delivered today. Also, from the shipping location, it's obviously NOT Newegg doing the shipping.
@ericshelpdesk yeah I'm just giving you shit. I have no idea where your package is, nor do the other forum members.
You can try contacting support if you haven't already but they are backed up right now and you'll probably get your monitors before they answer you back.
@Ignorant If I had seen: Shipping will be from Meh.com, expect to wait 5 days for a shipping notification and it'll show up whenever, I wouldn't be here questioning this. As it is, Newegg said "yup, we're shipping it" only to find out it's going 3rd party. They became the face of newegg until a few hours ago when I realized I wasn't really dealing with newegg.
@dashcloud Refurbished 24" monitors, and I wasn't aware that newegg was going third party either. I was supposed to be doing triple monitor gaming all weekend, now not so much T_T
@ericshelpdesk Well there is your problem right there, they are sold out! j/k good luck to you... that is wild that mediocre is a marketplace seller at newegg!
@ericshelpdesk Hey there, we are fulfilling this order for Newegg but please check the email we just sent you for more info since this isn't a Meh issue.
@Pavlov Especially for THIS thread. Some things don't need to be resuscitated. (I guess I shouldn't have commented this, since it bumps it right back to the top... oops.)
Yeah, I guess I am just as silly for commenting again. But this happened in November of 2014! Is this all y'all have to do for 4-5 months of your lives is post on this thread. Go somewhere else and do this. They really (or somebody) needs to delete this thread. This is a pointless waste of time.
@HateMeh Someone necro'd this thread with a customer issue. The responses were all to that poster, about that issue. I agree, this thread needs to quietly slip into the depths of the internet, never to resurface. Maybe they should use that handy "lock thread" feature...
This needs to stay. But maybe it should be closed and stuck to the top, yaknow, so everyone can read it. I shit you not. It says tons about who meh is as a company and community and why I love it here.
On the other hand, I think it's fine as is, bubbling up periodically.
I was off the meh grid when this all started and never looked into it until today. It was a lovely find.
@joelmw This is the thread that got me my goathood. And the first time I saw a post deleted. TL called me a cant, well, not exactly, but you get the idea. I found the most awesome GIF response, when I came back to post it, the offending post was gone.
@medz Adding to the funny is that it looks (or at least looked to me, at first glance) like @JonT's hand is @hollboll's. Weird. Kinda makes it look more southern, if yak now what I mean.
@sensharmila sometimes tracking can take a while to update, sometimes weird stuff happens. Contact meh.com/support and they will get back to you Mon or Tues, as they are there M-F.
Since you are new to our ranks, depending on what item(s) you purchased, you may still be early for your shipping window. The top post of every product thread is the specs post and has a ton of helpful info in it - like estimated delivery dates.
@Ignorant@pantheist Me too. I was taking my time reading through it, hoping to get to the bottom and find that twistedlisa had returned. Kind of disappointed that it wasn’t her that revived it.
@MEHcus is no longer on staff? Did I play Rip Van Winkle, fall asleep, and miss his farewell speech to us Mehniacs? Best of luck to you, @MEHcus. Barney loves you.
Your customer service is MEH.
@TwistedLisa you can talk to me about it but I won't be much help.
halp@meh.com will help you out but they are a little backed up right now so you might have to give them some time.
@TwistedLisa
@Cinoclav I didn't order a 200 lb item and won't be ever ordering again. Continue to make these fat cats rich. I won't.
@TwistedLisa I'm thinking this is for the best.
@TwistedLisa And you have the most wonderful, bestest Thanksgiving Day ever.
@Bingo Hey, Bingo, do you have a dog named Farmer?
@TwistedLisa No, apparently you ordered a BEM speaker that cost you less than half the price of what it's selling for on Amazon. Factor that into your grievance counselor...
It must suck to be you.
@lisaviolet Hey, how did you know?
@Bingo I'm kinda psychic.
@TwistedLisa
@TwistedLisa Hey, forgot to tell you, just have your family refuse delivery and your order will be refunded when it gets back to meh's warehouse. Then you can enjoy your holidays and stop losing your mind and going all CAPSLOCK on Thanksgiving.
@TwistedLisa I totally agree!!!!
@lisaviolet Thats funny but not a adult thing to do..
@TwistedLisa See You Next Thanksgiving
@TwistedLisa Meh.com is much better shopping place than woot or Amazon. I had a lot of good time here, and - what's best - I didn't spent a penny on this site. Even if the deals here are mediocre, the people - the staff, the mehricans, the octopussy - are outstanding.
@Kleineleh Wow. You cyber trolls suprise me.
@HateMeh K. 'Night.
@TwistedLisa wait wait wait, you're upset you ordered on a Friday and the item didn't ship until Monday, the next business day? Lolol. lololol. el o el. Girl lemme break it down for you, YOU CRAY.
@HateMeh "Cyber trolls"? Whoa, it's 1996 again!
@TwistedLisa
@TwistedLisa "I'm a lawyer." Let me guess, personal injury?
Have you clicked on the "support" link at the bottom of the home page? Have you gone to the orders page and clicked on the "I need help with this" button? Have you submitted an email to halp@meh.com?
@cengland0 duh
@TwistedLisa You made it sound like there is "Zero customer service" according to the subject of this topc. You had multiple ways of contacting customer service and they did respond to you so it's not zero as you stated.
@TwistedLisa Yes, that sounds very lawyer-ish right there.
On time, I contacted meh's customer service, they basically said that it sucks to suck...sounded about right. Not the ideal answer, but it was the expected answer.
@studerc I won't be ordering again. I won't be recommending to anyone anymore.
@TwistedLisa Dont get me wrong here, i love meh and ive had dozens of transactions with them in a very positive manner. But i do understand that things are super busy and chaotic over there and i understand that im not always gonna get exactly what i want.
@studerc way to settle for second best. You PAY them, they hide behind satire. Blah.
@TwistedLisa
Phony tracking number? Hmmm...
@twistedlisa - don't get your panties ...
... in a twist.
@Kidsandliz The tracking numbers have never changed on my orders after the USPS handoff.
For Smartpost, FedEx and USPS use the same tracking number. You don't get a second number for that. And delivery timelines will vary by location, really, the distance from the shipping point. People in Texas sometimes get packages in two days, people a thousand miles away often wait 10 days or so.
Hey @TwistedLisa, check your inbox, we have responded to your messages. Let us know if we can help any further.
@MEHcus yay!!!!!!!!
ZERO [complaints with mehs] Customer Service
ftfy
Define "talk".
@phatmass umm that would not be by telephone, skype, etc.
@phatmass an automated response to my submissions would have even been nice.
@TwistedLisa because automated responses are so helpful.
"Yay! Finally, a computer to talk at!"
You are ridiculous
@phatmass @capguncowboy curious, does Amazon have a phone number you can call if you have questions about your order?
@TwistedLisa You mean you'd prefer automated, as opposed to the human that answered you? Check your spam folder.
@cengland0 yes, you can call Amazon
TL;DR Scary-ranting-lawyer, shops without reading. Blames Meh for not delivering in a few days 'like Amazon'. Mehcus replies quickly on holiday.
Happy Thanksgiving!
@mehjohnson Wednesday was not a holiday. But fine, give them your money, they don't care.
NOV 27, 2014 | 08:41AM CST
Marcus Kirksey replied:
Sorry you feel that way. There are tons of internet homes out there and it’s possible that little ole meh may not be the one for you. We wish you the best of luck in finding the one that fits you just right.
Please let us know if your package doesn’t arrive so we can help you track it down.
And a Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours.
-Meh
@TwistedLisa Your handle fits. And yes, I'll do what I want with my money, and it will be fine.
@TwistedLisa one less person to outclick
@TwistedLisa the star I gave your comment is actually a star for the reply you received from Marcus.
@Ignorant Me too! As someone who was a customer service manager for many years, it's friggin amazing to see people able to give REAL responses. God how there were times I wished I could have given responses like this. Sometimes, there are people who just can't be made happy and it's gotta be nice to be able to tell them that.
@Bingo How many customers did you wish you could fire?
@Bingo after having worked at a hotel I so know what you mean. I at least had the advantage of if they pissed me off I didn't feel like I really had to help them and they were SOL. be nice and I went out of my way to help
@mehjohnson You workers are just despicable. Calling a customer a scary ranting lawer is horrible. How many people have you delt with like her? Like a million. Did you call them names? I am sure not. If I were being called names by customer service I would sue them till they cry!
@HateMeh YEAH, @mehjohnson - simply despicable! You should be fired! Wait ... what? ... you were never hired in the first place? Well then! /s
@lisaviolet pssst - I think you meant to direct the response to @hatemeh.
@narfcake No, to you, in a kind of way where the eavesdropper overhears what everybody already knows. And then there's that dear in the headlights moment when the troll realizes it's not playing with a bunch of amatures.
@narfcake Should be "deer" in the headlights, stupid five minute window.
@lisaviolet i kind of like "dear in the headlights." It's a bit more condescending. :)
@narfcake @lisaviolet Wow...
@mehjohnson
@lisaviolet They canceled my VMP at my request. And aren't you "special" like special K.
I'm starting to like this TwistedLisa lady.
@phatmass Yeah, I kind of hope she sticks around. It's always nice to have someone that makes the rest of us feel better about ourselves.
@Cinoclav This is what got me: "This is beyond meh, this is terrible. Order placed on 11/21. Not shipped until 11/24. " -- A person who complains about their order not being shipped until the next business day is either legitimately insane, or a super troll. I am attracted to both.
@phatmass if you ever visit Meh headquarters, it might be in their best interests to hide Irk
@phatmass Twistedphatmass
@phatmass She'd make a great scapegoat,,, just saying
@PWiddy no - people need a sense of humor to be a scapegoat
@Kidsandliz @PWiddy No, people need sense to be a scapegoat.
Meh
funny Video
@JamicanBadMan Next user name you make up, you might want to spell 'Jamaican' correctly.
@Cinoclav it is spelled the right way, right way for me. You misspelled your name, I believe it's "Clavicle" sheesh...the assumptions around this place. Or is it CincoLav, in which case it would be Cinco DE Banos...
@JamicanBadMan Haha....Who says everyone has any grammar these days? Cinoclav, You cant even use correct puncuation. The actual would be "Jamaican"
@JamicanBadMan Well, my user name would be neither of those. Trust me, as I work in radiology I'm pretty sure I can spell clavicle.
Mi Dunn Mi Dunn Mi Dunn
@JamicanBadMan Give her some milk for those cornflakes!
@JamicanBadMan Haha....
Your awsome TwistedLisa....I Love You :)
TwistedLisa It sucks to be you, doesn't it? Try to have a nice Thanksgiving.
@barnabee Dont be rude.
Here is a typical day at MEH... and this is why they can't get their shipments out.LOL
@JamicanBadMan Bahahahaha Yup!
People out there, Dont be rude to Lisa. All she is doing is saying the customer service was raised in a barn and the shipments must come from Antartica. Stop being rude to her please.
@HateMeh It's pretty sad that you created a second account to defend yourself.
@PurplePawprints and a third
@DaveInSoCal I dont even know Lisa...If I were another of her accnts I would be raising cane!
@TwistedLisa Cuss jar Nicki .....Cuss Jar
@jsh139 Why did you post that cruelty?
@HateMeh Whaaa? A dead horse ain't gonna keep beating itself, y'know!
@narfcake Still NarfFace. Just randomly put into this forum.
@HateMeh Nothing's too random for this site.
@narfcake Yeah...It is.
@jsh139 keep going! Maybe it'll get up!
@HateMeh Not random at all. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Flogging_a_dead_horse
@lisaviolet Exactly. Not sure why everyone keeps feeding into it. Nothing we say here is going to change her mind.
because Picard is always right
@lisaviolet That, and I think I smell a couple sock puppets. And it's not Glen.
It's really nice to participate in a commerce website's forum, where flame wars are allowed to burn. I love this place! It's so grown up! No censorship is a nice change.
@Teripie I can read your comment as absolutely genuine, or fantastically sarcastic. I'm not sure which it is, or which I like better.
@Thumperchick It's genuine. I've been in too many forums where the control was so tight, disagreement with one another was almost nil. I really do love this place. Best forum ever!
LOL. I bet Lisa is a Meh employee pranking the forum.
@mehdiocre_user that's what I'm hoping for
@Foxborn Serioulsy.?
@JonT Can you start banning trolls who outlive their funniness? Please?
@PurplePawprints I love purple.
@G1 (I like Barney's posts. You can always count on him/her.)
I love purple?
@Barney Yay for Barney"?" !
@Barney Don't worry your little purple lovin' heart Barney. You're still funny to me.
You people are MEHdically insane.
@HateMeh I'll take that as a compliment. :)
@narfcake I think you intended to write "complimehnt", right?
Is this the first official meh troll?
@Kevin no. @Irk was the first
@Kevin Nah, one had every comment I've seen them make her deleted a few days ago, not going to bother giving them a tag to acknowledge them.
I've never had trouble contacting meh support, including the time i accidentally shipped a package to the wrong address, they were able to fix it the next day. Keep up the good work guys.
@TwistedLisa @HateMeh If you're still here, hopefully I can sum up what everyone has been saying in the most kind way possible.
Well said.
I would also like to point out that no one likes a cry baby. Take your tantrum somewhere else
@Collin1000 I especially like the number one reason
@capguncowboy I like cry babies. Just not this one.
@Collin1000 Beautifully put. This whole temper tantrum was beyond ridiculous.
@Collin1000 and I am not hatemeh. Surely there are other people who are not amused by throwing money at rudeness and expecting less than mediocre.
lol this whole thread is just trolololin, rite? guys?
@meh It's kind of nice having the community brought together to fight and defend a common cause.
@PurplePawprints i mean this lisa person and their post? yes its nice but, the original issue, pls? my faith in humanity is dangling here guys!
@meh Yes, I mean defending Meh against her idiocy. Without her trolling, we wouldn't have all come together like this today. It reminded me to be thankful for the Meh community today.
children children - if you are going to keep bickering please take it outside where no one has to clean up the blood.
I would really love to see this thread evolve into a Post Your Best F You GIF. I've got one I've been sitting on for a few weeks.
@Thumperchick I like the way you think.
@Thumperchick sitting on it? what an unfortunate choice of words! Too far?
@PurplePawprints Me too! What a coincidence!
@capguncowboy
@Thumperchick I'd like to point out that my posting was @Cengland0's fault
@capguncowboy I was kind of hoping you had more gifs!
@Thumperchick Now that was worth reading all the way to the bottom. Happy thanksgiving!
@jimmyd103 Happy Thanksgiving! Here, have a gif!
@Thumperchick ouch!
@capguncowboy I thought we were working as a team to jumpstart things!
This one makes me laugh so hard, every time I see it.
This one is relevant, right?
@PurplePawprints Works for me :D
I volunteer as tribute!
@Thumperchick That was the one I was going to post next. Haha I think I'm out for the night.
@PurplePawprints Thanks for playing along!
@Thumperchick @JonT Can we archive this thread as a resource for the next time we need to send the very best?
@Thumperchick
@Cinoclav Seeing another one of these pop up a day later just made me crack up. Thank you.
@Thumperchick I mostly ignored most of this thread. This appears to be its hidden treasure. Thank you (and everyone else I'm too damned lazy to tag, but I think you're the MVP here).
lolololololololol
oh, I love this place.
If @twistedlisa is just a meh employee trolling, it was funny.
If she (he? it?) is actually seriously bitching about the 11/21 order with an 11/24 ship date (btw, this was the item: https://meh.com/deals/bem-bluetooth-speaker) well, then lisa is going to find life so totally disappointing that she should probably just jump off this coil right now.
lololololol....
This is the best thread ever. You're the best community of silly internet people on the...internet of silly people? I don't know. I'm full of turkey and food-shame right now.
@hart
@hart If you drown food-shame in enough beer, it fades away.
@hart Awww!
Woohoo! Thread exploded! The fuck you gifs are great! This place rules!
It was a very Meh Thanksgiving. The end.
@Collin1000 (I encourage everyone to expand on and add to my Thanksgiving Meh story.)
@Collin1000 This is why it is best to carve the turkey before the drinking begins.
@2many2no @collin1000 or just go to Cracker Barrel instead!
@Pamtha Our Cracker Barrel doesn't have adult beverages.
@2many2no Exactly!! No incentive to stick around and get tired of each other. put your name in, chat while waiting, sit down, order, stuff face, pay, hug each other and leave. Family harmony preserved, no resentment over who took the best leftovers.
@Pamtha But no left overs…need my leftovers so no cooking the rest of the weekend.
@Collin1000 Best.......post........ever!
@Collin1000
@Collin1000 I was completely sober the whole day and night. No alcohol for me to hid behind, I just like a good F you gif off.
@2many2no That's what all the flasks in the Fukus are for.
@lisaviolet Whatever. All i can say is that this thread makes me both sad and ashamed. Maybe this isnt the right internet home for me either.
@Thumperchick Well said and to the point(s).
That is the most comprehensive collection of go fuck yourself gifs I have ever had the pleasure of encountering. A bitchy lawyer who didn't get her way. Tough kitties. Have another fuck you.
@irishbyblood Tough kitties.
@parodymandotcom
@irishbyblood
These are some tough kitties.
@irishbyblood Aww man, I totally should have gone with a Tough Kitties GIF off! Next time...
I want to say fucking auto correct changed titties to kitties on the post above and I'm disappointed.
@irishbyblood I really hope this thread turns into a collection of the best memes featuring tough kitties.
@mikey
@mikey @Kleineleh
@JonT Sniper kitty is legit
@mikey
@mikey I'd rather see it turn into the biggest collection of tough titties, but that's just me ;)
WO, I think I must have missed something? The only mention of an email from MEH that contained any message content was from @studerc, not from @TwistedLisa. To the best of my knowledge the content of the messages to her are not given here. So we don’t know if the response was worded poorly or not. We don’t know if she was treated badly or not. If I am reading the time and date correctly, the item was ordered on a Friday, shipped on Monday and the Complaint is logged in the forum at Wednesday at 9:45 PM. We don’t know when she sent in her HALP or Support emails. But we see a response from MEHcus
Yesterday at 12:06 AM:.
@silverqueen They're referring to this message @TwistedLisa posted that purported to contain a response from CS, presumably after some back-and-forth in prior emails. https://meh.com/forum/topics/zero-customer-service#54773a5d5afe156c07e859f4
@silverqueen Search in page for "Marcus" and you'll see the email reply pasted by OP.
Cat Stevens - Sad Lisa
@curtise wow, haven't heard that song in a long time. good memories - thanks for posting!
Chill out baby girl...everything is going to be all right. Meh

The Five Stairsteps - Ooh Child
Seinfeld Customer Service Example:
Considering where things have gone in this thread, and that one of our big focuses is transparency, maybe I can shed a little more light on this situation. Here's some more information:
Lisa purchased the BEM speakers on Friday Nov 21st
They were shipped on Monday the 24th.
On the 26th Lisa sent in 3 customer support requests less than 30 minutes apart, the first two were short and to the point but were just asking about tracking and the third jumped to threats of spreading how terrible our customer support is on all social media, after not receiving a response in less than 30 minutes.
Marcus responded with the following:
"Hey there TwistedLisa,
I saw that you wrote in a few times but am just going to reply to this message.
I took a look at your account and found the tracking number for you (--------------- with FedEx) which shows that the package is currently en route to you and should arrive on the 2nd.
Hope that helps and let us know if you have any questions."
She replied saying we suck and to read her replies in this thread. This is what prompted the 'sorry you feel that way, but maybe Meh isn't for you' response.
Finally Marcus responded with:
"Hey Lisa, We thought we’d leave you with one parting thought.
@JonT fantastic job by everyone at meh. I think it was handled as professionally as it could/should be.
@JonT
@JonT "The customer is not always right." Thank you! After spending most of my adult life dealing with the public, I've been yelling that for decades!
@JonT Excellent! Great transparency and honest explanation of how/why it went that way. Meh handled it well IMO.
@TwistedLisa here is a quote from your original rant, "Definitely not like Woot, not even at all like Amazon."
You know Meh and Woot use the same shipping right?
@Mavyn
@neuromancer Mediocre, aka what the company is all about, so it was handled perfectly IMHO.
@JonT That was great. To thank you for the transparency, have another favorite gif of mine:
@JonT for President! @MEHcus for diplomat!
@JonT hah! So we were in the right when we all ridiculed her!
@JonT
@mikey That's definitely the issue. The shirts still come from the same location.
Some people don't understand the difference between being a customer and being a self-entitled asshat.
@Mavyn <3 <3 <3 <3 Asshats for everyone! Woo woo! <3 <3 <3 <3
@curtise
"Run towards the light, Carol Anne"
The brightside has cookies too!
@marycat67 Not sure why you directed your rant at me, but as noted above, Meh isn't for everyone. If this scenario qualifies as 'simply inquiring about your purchase', I'm going to guess that includes you. Good thing the internet is so gosh darned big.
Uh, oh...Just when you thought it was safe to leave this thread--(Cue the Jaws music.)
@marycat67
@mikey @neuromancer
I think it is pretty apparent that the customer is pitching a fit over a problem she caused by asuming how shipping would work.
@neuromancer You're not the user(s) in context here.
@neuromancer - It would be sad if you left, it's boring when everyone agrees, and I admire you for speaking your mind.
@KDemo @neuromancer I agree that having a homogeneous hivemind is much less interesting and that people who challenge the majority help keep things level.
@Thumperchick buzzzz me too buzzzz
the best part is when @barney said he likes purple.
@carl669 +1. He even used a question mark, nice touch.
@carl669 the purple that comes from punching someone perhaps?
I love purple.
@Barney welcome back!
@OldCatLady +1 to Marcus.
@rockblossom I was really hoping for a +2...but + 1 is acceptable. Just this once though.
@MEHcus But ... I thought the fact that we could vote more than once was a deep, dark secret. Ummmm...
@OldCatLady Please be sure to post your Fuku "winnings" in the Fuku thread. I love seeing what kind of weirdness people get.
@Teripie I promise, I will. It's due tomorrow. CDO has me checking every hour for updates.
@OldCatLady CDO? Collateralized debt obligation? Sounds like a Meh order number.
@Stumpy91 It's OCD, in correct alphabetical order, for those who take their obsessions seriously.
@OldCatLady My son claims he has COD (dyslexic OCD).
Maybe off point a bit, but how did this get this long without one person saying "Cheer up Sucker!"
@cleverogre aaaaaaand you win the thread today.
@cleverogre You win.
No need to be Christmas Grinches... Bah Humbug too you too
@HateMeh It took you close to a month to come up with that response? For shame.
@HateMeh
@HateMeh No, no, no, it's "Bah Humbug too you to". Get it right.
@Keyeno 110% agree - with the holidays, I found myself with a "surprise" box or two I forgot I had ordered. I got excited all over again.
@ABitterWoman I started to use Storenvy to sell through instead of eBay for my lil business.
@Keyeno Thanks! I'll check that out!
@Keyeno @ABitterWoman I have a storenvy shop as well. They are much more shop friendly, but the traffic is abysmal.
@Thumperchick @keyeno @abitterwoman Would you all please put a link to your stores?

@xEBRONx https://meh.com/forum/topics/flotsam-mystery-sack-unboxing
@ericshelpdesk Probably the same reason newegg doesn't ship meh's orders.
@pitamuffin You'd think that but you'd be wrong.
@ericshelpdesk shouldn't have gone with Super Eggsaver (4-7 bus. days) $0.00
@ericshelpdesk What did you order? I also wasn't aware Mediocre was selling stuff on Newegg.
@ericshelpdesk Clear your cache and cookies and try again, me thinks the UPS shipping api and or your browser is confused.
@thismyusername tell that to my email.
@ericshelpdesk that is wild. What item was it if I may ask?
@thismyusername http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824160237 at $114 each.
@JonT Got it, thanks! SERIOUSLY appreciate the heads up. That's the first straight answer I've got all week.
@JonT I'd pay good money to have someone close this thread. Necro and the new issue belongs over at Mediocre.
@ericshelpdesk Glad you got a straight answer.
@Thumperchick And two months later, here we are.
Great read. Five stars.
definitely worth the long read!
As amusing as this thread was to read. I agree with a few others. We should let it go. Just my thoughts.
I agree with some, but disagree with others. Also, I like the tough kitty pictures. TYFYT.
@lisaviolet
@joelmw Definitely read that as 'yak now'.
@medz Adding to the funny is that it looks (or at least looked to me, at first glance) like @JonT's hand is @hollboll's. Weird. Kinda makes it look more southern, if yak now what I mean.
Every forum needs a good flame war every now and then; keeps the moderators on their toes. But, alas, the troll in this one flamed out long, long ago.
@Teripie Can we discuss the merits of Amazon Prime again?
@sammydog01
I had forgotten all about this thread... and here I had posted just a couple of days ago that meh must be broken because I got my order in 4 days. LOL
i got a fake fedex track no. called fedex and learnt that they dont have that tracking no.Meh.com cheated took my money and never sent my items…
@sensharmila https://meh.com/support
contact support
@sensharmila Thanks for bumping this thread. I’ve been enjoying reading it instead of doing things that I need to get done before morning.
@Pantheist I love when this thread gets bumped
@sensharmila sometimes tracking can take a while to update, sometimes weird stuff happens. Contact meh.com/support and they will get back to you Mon or Tues, as they are there M-F.
Since you are new to our ranks, depending on what item(s) you purchased, you may still be early for your shipping window. The top post of every product thread is the specs post and has a ton of helpful info in it - like estimated delivery dates.
@Ignorant @pantheist Me too.
@Barney my thoughts exactly. I read this thirty min ago and thought the same thing.
@Barney
Where’d you see that about @MEHcus
@f00l His reply near the top of the thread, did not have his flask on it.
@f00l I just took a look because I was wondering as well. I looked at his comments above, and there is no longer a flask in front of his name
@Barney
how’s this for zero customer service?
