@2many2no I love gog so much. I’m not sure I’d necessarily classify it as a “deal site,” but they definitely do have lots of great deals going on constantly. And I really appreciate their original business model of making old games available, cheap, and easy to play legally.

re GOG: They’ve slipped a bit on the “DRM-free” promise too, but for the most part, you can download and play those games without any interference. Even with Steam, I’ll sometimes want to play two games at a time, and it’ll give me grief.
(I have noticed games tend to want to phone home, regardless. I usually let them… expect they’d play nice offline though.)
@2many2no@InnocuousFarmer I’ve heard a little about this, but the games I’m interested in are all so old that I haven’t run into any of it. I’ve also never taken the time to figure out what “gog galaxy” is or why I would want it, but just knowing it’s a service that runs makes me uninterested.
I also have a huge backlog simply due to lack of time to play games.
@2many2no@Limewater Ah yeah, GOG Galaxy is essentially a Steam client clone, just more limited. Somewhat easier management of the games library, synchronization of save files, stuff like that. Maybe a friends list?
@InnocuousFarmer@Limewater You don’t really need GOG Galaxy, the games will either play on Steam or just download them. They have a library of new and old games and occasionally have a free game (sometimes good ones.)
Epic Games also has a free game each week, right now it’s Assassin’s Creed Syndicate (I think you have to have the Epic Games client to play though.)
@2many2no@Limewater Steam won’t automatically update GOG games though. And I don’t think it will synchronize game saves across computers for non-Steam games. I get a lot of traction out of both those features.
There are a couple of deals subreddits I peruse on occasion, but you’ve made me realize I haven’t really found a replacement for deals.woot since they killed it… Or, for that matter, visited many of the woot properties since then, either… Hmm. Subreddits allow for very focused deals, like r/audioproductiondeals or r/gamingdealsfree, but I’m not aware of a generalized one. I’ve used bfads.net’s emails as sort of a catch-all replacement, but I do miss the community from deals.woot. They had something special there.
I’ve bought a shitload of various stuff, usually increases around Christmas due to unique giftable items. The deals change a couple of times a week, often free shipping.
I still go to woot daily.
Also the deal a day site formerly known as Yugster (Untilgone now)
I visit Tanga on occasion even though they barely count anymore.
Amazon Gold Box.
Meh rescued me from the woot after the hostile amazoo handover. Woot writing were great. Products was good, but then the humble left the room along with the savings. Thanks Meh for the daily “humility” and the daily obviously appropriate pricing.

Slickdeals. Never heard of the other sites.
P.S. Slickdeals has mentioned deals at Meh and Woot in the past.
I haven’t bought anything from a deal site in months. (Unless you count this useless VMP subscription.)

Meh now. Woot back in the day.
Bhaji’s Bountiful Barnyard of Bargains.

Meh. Woot occasionally. Does Rakuten count?-they have some good deals but they are not a one-a-day place (neither is Woot now, of course).
Been a Slickdeals user since 2005.

Then, GOG and Indiegala.

@jsfs With how big reddit is, I can’t imagine a general catchall deals to work there.
I feel for the moderators already …
Just you, bby
I really miss Fatwallet. I found some outrageous deals on there even if I had no need whatsoever for the item.

@markkorn Oh, Woot is different nowadays to be sure. But they still have some pretty good random deals some days.
Anybody use Honey?
@PocketBrain Honey seems sketchy as hell. I don’t trust it.
@Limewater @PocketBrain I don’t need any more tracking. I do not trust Honey either.
@PocketBrain no, honey. I have never heard of it, hon.
@PocketBrain I have used it, but it has only provided legitimate discount codes a few times. Often the code I have is better than what they offer.
Daily (workday) visits:

Meh.com… does that count Being an VMP, i just can’t stay away!
