Came here to say the same. Bought two in a twofertuesday deal; opened the second one just a couple of weeks ago after the first one finally crapped out.
Can also confirm that my Trym has been great. It’s not a super close trim, but I prefer the stubbly look. Battery only last about two shaves but that’s nbd, I keep the charger nearby.
@Jonas4321 See the post above yours from people that actually bought virtually the same product last time. Also, see below for more info on my experience
@chienfou Nope, sorry. It is rare to see 19 out of 41 Verified Purchase reviews on Amazon give something one single star. I am very happy for those that have enjoyed a positive outcome, but one of my favorite sayings is “Eat shit, 10 million flies can’t be wrong”, as it reminds me that when there is an overwhelming indication, there is a reason for it. In this case, people were overwhelmingly disappointed in this product. YMMV, but my $14 stays in my account.
I got this when it was called “Trym”, like a lot of people observed. My “trym” stopped doing a good job trimming my beard after maybe three months, and held less and less of a charge every week. Wouldn’t buy it again.
@TheFLP The Wahl clippers let you know you are holding a device that could electrocute you if it wanted to… had my first for 20+ years, only replaced it with another when the plastic snap-on length comb that I always used cracked. Felt that a replacement clipper was in order. That was 10+ years ago, still going strong.
Some years ago I got my barber guy to buy me a high-end (~$100) professional pair of clippers (Oster 22-23F) that I use on my beard. Fully adjustable. I give it some oil now and then. It will outlast the sun.
@UncleVinny I bought a high end set of Oster pet clippers from a thrift store for $10 about 3 years ago. Looked almost brand new. Cleaned up very nice. Still use them for my beard once a month or so with no ill effects. Plus when I look good my wifey gives me belly rubs.
I can’t believe the horrible reviews! This looks like one of the products you find on AMZ and wonder why it has like 3000 reviews, mostly 4&5 star…The writers of which getting the product for free, thus the reviews.
My Trym is still going strong, but the teeth started breaking off the heads a year ago. Searched for replacement heads everywhere with no luck. Might just buy again so I can get a new set of heads…
FWIW
Like many others above, I bought the Trym II in June 2017 from meh. My experience so far has been pretty good, and I use it to trim my beard about every couple of weeks. It has held up nicely, and the battery is still going strong (though now that I have said that it will probably crap out next time I use it). It gets run to nothing then recharged every 2-3 months or so.
In fact, I liked it so much I bought the company (no wait, that was something else…) I liked it so much, when I dropped it on the tile floor in the shower and the clip broke off one of the attachments, I tried to find another one on-line but couldn’t. After some searching around I discovered that there seems to be several iterations of this product with different brands associated with them. I bought this product, the Travelmate, and I can attest to the fact that for all intents it is identical to the original Trym II, except for the travel pouch. (plus I only paid $18 for it in April of 2019-- half the current Amazon price)
At 14 dollars, this is still the same price I paid for the Trym II model, (take that inflation!) and as noted above, the labeling seems to be the only difference in the two shavers.
As always, YMMV. TL:DR Trym II = Travelmate+pouch
@chienfou Thank you!!!
I was just going to ask this question to the community, so thanks for sharing. My Trym ll is still going strong and so far the battery is still strong, but at this price a back up would be great.
There’s a Trym ll version on Amazon and a lithium battery version, but they don’t match UPC codes with the one linked from here. But the one sold here has a model number (TM311) that matches the linked one with all crappy reviews…so now I’m uncertain again about its quality.
@Kerig3 As I said, my trimmer itself has been doing fine for the past 2.5+ years. I now have an extra trimmer since I only used the attachments off the replacement one I bought. I charge it up now and then since it is a NiCad battery pack, but so far no issues…
I never get the point of these. Are you cutting your hair somewhere besides the bathroom? Do you not have an outlet in the bathroom? What’s the point? You don’t need cordless.

New year still a meh way to start it off. Happy new year
meh
My hair is too old for this.
Happy New Year everyone
Hmmm… this looks an awful lot like my trimmer I bought here a few years ago.
@RogerWilco But this one has a travel pouch, and it looks like it does a better job:
vs
@RogerWilco And just like my TravelMate Rechargeable Modern Hair Clipper Kit Quantity: 1 @ $12 I bought from MorningSave. Haha
They don’t have it listed now.
@RogerWilco No way, this version has a Travel Pouch! Totally different product… (For what it is worth, mine is still in decent shape 2.5 years later.)
@RogerWilco thank you. Thought I was having a weird sense of deja vu.
@psantora So is mine and I’m still using it. I wouldn’t mind a spare though.
Came here to say the same. Bought two in a twofertuesday deal; opened the second one just a couple of weeks ago after the first one finally crapped out.
@RogerWilco I bought that one too. It’s dead now. Light use. Still dead.
@RogerWilco Been using my Trymm II every four to six weeks for years now could be the best thing I ever bought from Meh.com.
@dino2269 I wholeheartedly agree! If you use it regularly, like most rechargeable devices, the batteries will last a long time.
@jetkins Ditto. My first one is just starting to have battery problems. They were a good buy. That’s all I have to say, goodbye.
@GeckoD I saw what you did there…
@therealjrn there is 1 currently listed on MorningSave, but for $19
Can also confirm that my Trym has been great. It’s not a super close trim, but I prefer the stubbly look. Battery only last about two shaves but that’s nbd, I keep the charger nearby.
@WhiteKenny Huh. I didn’t see one last night.
¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Here’s my order from a couple of weeks ago
It’s still an ok deal @ $15
@RogerWilco Bought that it was really a POS.
Piss-poor Amazon reviews. An auspicious start to the new year, Meh.

But is it Bluetooth, so the app will tell me when I am trimming more on one side than the other? Do I need the app to turn it on or off?
@phendrick no, it’s not the BT that does that function, it’s the GPS.
This is 100% Trym, the “iPhone of shavers.”
I have two. From Meh.
They’re both pretty good.
Why two? I keep them in different states. Because with Meh prices, why not?
Be like me. Don’t “TravelMate” with the shaver. Buy two.
@nickm461 Nice try, Meh sales guy. Gonna have to work harder than that for your commission.

@UncleVinny
@nickm461 @UncleVinny hey now unk… are you trying to spoof kuoH’s notorious signature??
you’re an all-star
@chienfou @kuoh @nickm461 It’s a tribute that a few of us are doing for January. KuoH deserves more, but it’ll have to do for now.
KuoH
@UncleVinny do tell? (I feel I may have missed something important…)
@chienfou services rendered in the Iconic Signature department, for starters! The Meh forums are just more dignified with KuoH around.

@mediocrebot get your game on
Will this work on old school hair?
@thismyusername What is school hair?
I still use my Trym shaver, still works great after a couple of years
That is a privacy violation. How did Meh even get my high school picture?
I got this when it was called “Trym”, like a lot of people observed. My “trym” stopped doing a good job trimming my beard after maybe three months, and held less and less of a charge every week. Wouldn’t buy it again.
If you take trips long enough to need a haircut, you can afford to have someone cut your hair.
Happy new hair!
I doubt it can hold a candle to my Wahl trimmer, purchased 14 years ago (and still for sale). The kind that kicks back when you turn it on.
@TheFLP The Wahl clippers let you know you are holding a device that could electrocute you if it wanted to… had my first for 20+ years, only replaced it with another when the plastic snap-on length comb that I always used cracked. I’ve had the Trym for a couple years now and been very happy with it. Highly recommend, especially at this price.

Nothing to see here folks, move along now.
Can I clip the dog with it?
@zzzzz78759 depends on the kind of dog you have. Fine hair maybe. But not for long.
Happy New Year to my favorite meh-bors!
@akadamia Happy New Year!

No pubes, who dis?

@jdjj929 OK, that’s just creepy… now I have to change my Alexa privacy settings!

Yay! First “meh” click of the new decade. Not because they are easy, but because they are hard…

@knotworking that’s what I ended up doing when I broke a clip on mine (see below) This model is interchangeable with the TRYM II

@chienfou @glundqui Yay! Spatula City! That movie was filmed here in my home town.
Ahh, the old drunk haircut. A vacation staple.
@j37hr0 Why would you take a vacation from being drunk? And why would you give yourself a haircut at that time??
@chienfou If I took a vacation from being drunk, I wouldn’t keep buying shit on this website. No haircuts for me. Long hair, don’t care!

I never get the point of these. Are you cutting your hair somewhere besides the bathroom? Do you not have an outlet in the bathroom? What’s the point? You don’t need cordless.
@unksol In my case I do my trimming in the shower… where you really don’t want to be using a cord…
@mOONmOON @unksol ditto
how’s this for manscaping?
@tinkleondabeach how’s what? I absolutely don’t want to see whatever you meant to show
