I just got another 30 of these Bluetooth trackers in my IRK. I already have 50 of them that I bought from meh.com only to learn that the company went out of business and so did the app.
Does anyone know of another app that works with them?
The SwiftFinder app used to work for them on Android for sure. Nothing, since the company shuttered has worked for iPhone, unfortunately. They are pretty generic in their function, so there are actually a number of apps that can pick them up and get them working on Android, but some have better features than others.
I suggested it before, but I’ll toss it in again. Conceal half a dozen of them in your most obnoxious co-worker’s cubbicle, and then trigger them from your phone at selected and/or random times. Concentrate on moments when the occupant is on the phone, has just started to step out of the cubby, etc.
I don’t want everybody’s though. Perhaps as many as can fit in a coffee mug and no more- (especially if in all different colours). Not sure how cheap they can ship, haven’t shipped anything in a long time but if anyone can ship say a coffee-mug’s size worth of them (unboxed just the trackrs) , I will take them off your hands. I don’t need the batteries. So if you’re harvesting them for batteries, you can send me the unbatteried versions if you like. (I suspect I will need to remove them anyway).
I probably had enough once upon a time, I just don’t know where mine are anymore, I can only find about a dozen.
@OnionSoup I just got 36 - 12 each of blue/pink/purple. If you’re interested, I’ll pull them out of the packages and remove the batteries. I can’t imagine they would be more than a first class package to ship. Say the word…
Have you tried the Tuya app? A ton of stuff just uses the same Tuya drivers so can get a lot of things running in that app. The geeni lights on here for instance were able to run in Tuya without having to sign up for an account.
Well… I. Now have enough for all the cats… But none have collars anyway. They can be made functional, I just have have no use.
I guess it could be more responsible to strip the packaging/batteries and dump them in the ecycle than dump them on the goodwill/salvation army to deal with though…
The entire premises is based on living in a dense urban area with enough people using the same app/detecting and relaying. Bluetooth is useless on its own… And that was never going to work unless open source and even then…
You know unless you wanted to track pets in the house

I got 30 too. Nice way of giving me your eWaste Meh.
Hand them out next Halloween or maybe stick them on random objects or slip them in coat pockets/purses/bags to cause mass confusion.

@werehatrack stick them on the underside of a paranoid friend’s car and then ask them if they’ve heard of this scam where…
Nah… that’s a bad idea. Just recycle them at the next e-waste day
Or send them to @OnionSoup
@werehatrack @ybmuG I do have a secret use for them… to “upcycle” them

The secret use, will eventually be revealed on here. And I didn’t mention, but I will pay for shipping if you have paypal.

@ybmuG thank you, that would be great! 36 combined with those of mine that I can find would be great.

@unksol For finding where the hell I left my effing keys THIS TIME, they’re not half bad - as long as they’re in the house.
@werehatrack well but hopefully that only requires 1? Not the 50+ I think I have to dispose of.
Putting one on all the things the cats relocate would be bulky and probably make them a more fun toy
