The world doesn't have enough "tactical" everyday things
8We have tactical driving glasses and sunglasses, flashlights, and even headphones right here on Meh. I just bought a telescoping antenna mast that isn’t just tactical, but came in a camo bag in case its tactical nature wasn’t clear. It will be great when I have to set up an emergency radtio station when WW III hits!
What are some everyday items that need a tactical version?

I posted something similar to this abomination a while back, but here you go:
Available at Home Despot for only $13.21!
@Kyeh I like the ammo belt part. Lock and load!
@ItalianScallion @Kyeh One of my favorite T-shirts (purchased from that other deal site)

@ItalianScallion @Kyeh @macromeh It’s okay to say Woot here, y’know.
https://shirt.woot.com/offers/kitchen-warfare
Besides, the old slogan of one deal, one day still remains true. Granted, one has to find that one item there that’s a deal …
@ItalianScallion @macromeh
That IS clever!
Now that your mention it, I don’t think Meh has sold any tactical bidets yet. Perhaps they could bundle it with some tactical backup toilet paper in the next sale?
KuoH
@kuoh That would be great after some tactical diarrhea. (Is that a thing? It sounds like it would be a thing.)
@kuoh @xobzoo Ummm… yes it is…
Tactical badminton sets.
Tactical hot glue guns.
Tactical pipe wrenches (because PEX will never be tactical no matter whether you make it camo or not.) (Harry Tuttle approval preferred.)
Tactical watercolor sets.
Tactical pantyliners.
Tactical orange cats.
Tactical Pez dispensers.
I could go on and on…
@werehatrack How do you camouflage an orange cat?
@pmarin @werehatrack The orange is the camo part of a tiger.
The orange facts start just after the 5 minute mark.
@pmarin @werehatrack Catmouflage or catmeowflage.

@pmarin @werehatrack
Put it in front of an orange version of a green screen?
@pmarin @yakkoTDI Havelock Vetinari studied the camouflage value of large cat colouration. Fortunately for him, the other assassins scoffed at the ideas that he found fascinating and valuable.
/showme tactical duct tape and superglue set with belt holsters
@mediocrebot That’s something I don’t want to see near a bidet.
@mediocrebot @pakopako For the trifecta, add a butane-fueled soldering pencil.
@xobzoo That reminds me of Hank Hill’s tactical WD-40 can.
Am currently too camouflaged and velcro’ed and tactically lazy to provide an idea or answer at the moment.
Maybe later when “situation” is less intense …
Okay, semi-serious question.
What does tactical mean to you?
To me it doesn’t mean camo
@Cerridwyn To me, it means a supposedly rough ‘n’ tough concept of an item in a way that would be supposedly be used by military personnel with the objective to make the item seem macho–note, it’s really in appearance only–to appeal to macho-wannabes that have never served a day in the military. Camo is one way to attempt to demonstrate to others that the item is “tactical,” when in fact the companies are laughing all the way to the bank.
@Cerridwyn @ItalianScallion So much like the Jeep mall-crawlers?
@Cerridwyn @narfcake There are people who drive their Jeeps around in malls?
@Cerridwyn @ItalianScallion I detest camo-patterned stuff that’s not actually meant for, y’know, camouflage. Especially when it’s on kid’s clothes or something.
@ItalianScallion @Kyeh I basically agree. I think of tactical meaning it’s tactical. It’s something that does what it needs to do where it needs to be without being overly complicated and without requiring lots of hands I guess is the way I need different think of it. Things like flashlights, knives, which sir other jobs I guess is a good way of saying it I don’t know. It has a meaning to me but it’s kind of hard to put in words
@Cerridwyn To me, it means that the item is designed to optimize the specific requirements for strength, reliability, controllability, fitness for the task, and safety for the user. Some think it only applies to warlike combat and militarized policing. I contend that this is too narrow of a scope. Camo-patterned clothing is often anti-tactical for the task at hand. A form-fitting cocktail dress can be intensely tactical. A pair of bottles of carefully chosen bourbon, even more so.
That said, let us not speak of tactical toasters.
@werehatrack well said
@werehatrack well said
I agree. For example, I will not mention the Dungeons and Dragons toasters that are probably still for sale on Sidedeal.
@Cerridwyn and @werehatrack, those are good takes on what tactical means in real life. My take on it was from the macho/military-style marketing used to sell cheaply made junk on TV ads that in the end are just laughable.
@ItalianScallion @werehatrack
@Cerridwyn @ItalianScallion @Kyeh I’m just clumsy/mission-focused enough that most of my work-around-the-house-and-yard clothing quickly starts to resemble and blend in with the environment.
How much MOLLE are we talking about
Tactical this, tactical that. Enough already!
I want some STRATEGIC gear.
@blaineg
Mutually Assured Toasting
in the end we will all be toast.
@blaineg I want a tactical IRK. Like that will ever happen.
