@chienfou @kittykat9180 @llangley yes, I think starting from scratch is best…and, I propose, not bothering with keeping up with repeats beyond the current game…just makes it easier on everyone and less intimidating for potential new players…just a thought

No one can enforce them/we are obviously off the range/I’ve violated them accidentally during the official one and we just skip that and use the previous rule following one.

I think what the rules do is force you to think of a good song that meets them vs just dumping your playlist one at a time. Sometimes remember/go looking for something.

I think you’re just supposed to explain the connection when its not obvious or simple. I could not tell you the drummer in any band but there are people who follow individual musicians. So a link that other people might not get. And also might go “I like this… What else has this person/group done”

If the official one cannot be supported I propose “unofficial” music/or driving game rules. Something VERY loosely like below to try and not have overlapping ones

Basic connection rules from the official driving game from @ExtraMedium apply

“Connect a new song to the previously played song by name, musician, musical group, or concept. Try to use the format “Artist - Song Title” when possible. Avoid repeats, and do not make two plays back to back.”

1. You may create an unofficial music game in the forum as long as there is not one currently active. Please search for “UOMG” or whatever we put in the title rule

2. Unofficial music games may last a maximum of x days. After the closing date the thread will be locked(need mod help) and a new one may be opened by someone else. No back to back.

3. Please title it
   "UOMG: Unofficial music game YYYYMMDD-YYYYMMDD - Description "
   And open with the unofficial music game rules/reason for the game.

4. Please do not reuse your own songs between takes. (Honor system) . Everything is made up and the points don’t matter.

5. This game will end at YYYYMMDD.

Some sort of temporary popup thing vs the official one so it nothing is running and people just wanna have fun for a bit/not keep track/constantly have someone managing one/new people can get in without the history.
